- Hi, this is Metafo.

Metamask is mostly required when using a blockchain platform.

For those who first came to Web3 and unfamiliar with this field yet,

I've got some useful information and tutorial of Metamask.

From the basics like how to add a token and connect Binance smart chain

to things that I actually had difficulties when using Metamask

and cautions are all included in this video, so even if you already have been using Metamask, it would be helpful.

The Metamask download itself is actually very simple.

Installation and sign in is easy, but after that,

it could seem to be complicated for those who aren't familiar with blockchain and Metamask.

The greatest strength of Metamask is privacy security and it's easy to access from most of the blockchain-applied platforms.

When we are signing up for some platform, we have to type in our personal information like name, email, brithday, etc.

Once those platforms or websites get hacked, all of our personal information are unsecure,

however, Metamask does not have that risk.

However, there are two things that you have to be aware when using the Metamask.

First, if you incautiously connect your Metamask to some phishing or scam website, everything could be lost that were in the wallet.

Second, you can also lose your asset and never get it back if you send it incorrectly, so always double-check the recipient's information.

Currently, there are 9 million Metamask users around the world just on Chrome

which is definitely necessary if you are trying to use any blockchain platform.

Most of the metaverse and NFT projects that I introduced in my videos require a Metamask wallet

so I decided to make this Metamask tutorial.

If you keep things to be aware in mind, it will be very easiy to get adapted and use.

First, I'll explain you how to install and launch Metamask.

Search 'Metamask' on Google and click on the website called 'metamask.io'.

Once you start using Metamask, you should always check if websites that you connect your wallet is legit and official.

There are a lot of sneak scam websites that make it look like a real one, with similar domain address and designs,

so always be aware of this, and don't access and connect to any untrusted website.

Especially on Discord or Telegram, don't click on website links that are luring with some nice events or giveaways.

They could say like 'You won a free Bitcoin or Ethereum', so keep that in mind.

Because 99.9% of them are scam to hack your Metamask and steal your assets.

Now, go to metamask.io and click Download now button on the first page.

I recommend you to install it on Chrome browser.

Now it is supported by various browsers like Firefox and Edge.

It's the most compatible on Chrome, so I recommend Chrome.

Also, you can download it on smartphone.

Download it on IOS or Android and use it anywhere,

even though there could be few limits.

At first, until I got used to it, I used Metamask only on PC via Chrome,

But these days, I also use Metamask on mobile.

It was uncomfortable to use only PC when I go outside, and phone has better internet connections that the laptop,

so thesedays, I only use mobile version when I go outside.

For those who are using Metamask for the first time, I recommend to install and use it on Chrome first,

and then try it on mobile once you get used to it.

Like in the past, when we first sent money on PC, and then moved on to mobile

I think you will get used to mobile version by time.

Once you get used to Metamask, it will be easier to use other wallet platforms.

So it will be useful for you to learn this well and get used to it.

Let's keep going on with the installation.

Select 'Install Metamask for Chrome' and download it on the browser,

Once you start it, you will see 'Import Wallet' and 'Create Wallet'.

If you import a wallet, you can bring an exisiting wallet using the private key and sign in right away on Metamask.

For those who is using it for the first time, click 'Create a Wallet'.

Metamask supports various language options, so choose your language.

Click Agree on the terms,

and create a password that you will be using for Metamask.

'Secure the wallet' is very important.

Anyone who has your recovery phrase can access to your wallet, so make sure that you are the only one who keeps the recovery phrase.

It's also called 'Seed phrase', and if you keep it in a notepad or memo on PC, it has the risk of being hacked,

so I recommend you to write it down and keep it safely.

Metamask recommends to write down the recovery phase on paper and keep it secretly somewhere

because there are a lot of hacking cases while keeping the phrase on PC.

You should never let anyone know your recovery phase,

and nobody, even the Metamask server manager or something, ask for the recovery phase, so keep it safely only to you.

To expose the recovery phase, click the lock button.

Once you click, you will get a 12-word secret phrase.

Write this down and keep it safely.

And don't forget where you kept it.

Next, click the words you saw before in order.

Now you've done installing and signing up for Metamask.

Metamask is based on Ethereum, so the first screen shows Ethereum.

The name would be Account 1 and underneath that, you can see the Metamask wallet address .

It's Account 1 because you can add several accounts on one Metamask.

You can change the name of the account to distinguish easily.

Under that, you can see the Buy button first,

and you can buy cryptos directly on Metamask using a credit/debit card,

but it can be unavailable in some regions.

In this case, you would've have to send the crypto from the exchange to Metamask.

Next to that is the Send button.

To send a crypto to another wallet, like to your exchange, click the Send button and type in the wallet address.

Nextly, Swap is converting one crypto asset to another.

The conversion rate is applied and fee will cost.

Next, there is the Add token button.

First you will only see Ethereum, but you can add other types of tokens that Metamask supports.

You can Add a Token by searching for it,

and if you can find the token here, you have to add manually by searching for the token's contract address and information.

Usually, when you type in the token contract address, token symbol and token of precision will be filled automatically.

For instance, I'll add Axie Infinity's SLP token. I copy the token address from CoinMarketCap and paste here.

Then you see the SLP token has been added.

We looked into the basics,

so now, let's try using it in the real field.

A lot of people get to use Metamask by using the Opensea.

Opensea is the world's largest NFT open market.

Opensea supports several languages so it will be easy to use.

Now, I'll sign in on Opensea using Metamask.

When you click the profile button, you can sign in with Metamask.

You can also use different wallet by clicking the 'Use a different wallet' button.

Metamask is mostly used on Opensea.

Once you sign in, you can see the NFT assets you own.

Also you can search and purchase NFTs that you like.

Let's click some random art.

Here I typed an artist name and I can see the NFT arts created by this artist.

When you click and go in, you can check the price in Ethereum and USD.

You can buy it by click the Buy now button.

If you just made the wallet, you won't have asset in the wallet.

To fill up the wallet, you have to send a token from your crypto exchange to Metamask.

To send a token from crypto exchange to Metamask wallet,

you can withdraw the token from exchanges like Coinbase.

Each crypto exchanges have different withdrawal fee,

so compare the withdrawal fee of the exchange you use and Binance, which has pretty low fee overall.

This would take more time but it would reduce a lot of fees.

It will be good to try using Binance.

To send crypto from Binance to Metamask, click withdraw button, select Ethereum, ETH(ERC 20) network, and send it.

The fee is way cheaper than most of the exchanges.

Sometimes, you won't be able to connect and see Metamask on Opensea website.

On your Chrome browser, there is the extension program button on top right.

Simply click the extension program button and click the Metamask to see it's status.

On top left, you can check the internet connection.

Also, sometimes, you want to make a transaction and you have to sign the signature, but the Metamask doesn't pop up.

When you have to sign and you don't see anything, click the extension button and manually turn on the Metamask application.

Lastly, a lot of you would be surprised by the transaction fee of Ethereum,

It is constantly being upgraded, but high fee and slow speed can be inconveniet to some people.

The reason why some tokens that can substitute Ethereum blowed up is also because a lot of users were having bad experience of Ethereum.

Especially for P2E games, the transactions have to constantly occur,

so it can be different from purchasing an NFT artwork.

That's why there are also a lot of platforms

based on Binance smart chain or Polygon network which has cheap transaction fee.

Binance Smart Chain is also called BSC.

That's why a lot of you guys were asking how to add BSC on Metamask.

Once you add BSC network, you can use all the platforms on BSC network.

Here I already added Polygon and Binance Smart Chain on my Metamask.

Matic mainnet is on Polygon network and Smart Chain is on BSC.

There would be other wallet that are more compatible with some tokens.

You can easily add the BSC network with the setting information.

I will write the setting information on the description below.

To add Binance Smart Chain, click 'Settings' on Metamask profile and click 'Add Network'.

Type in Network Name, RPC URL, Chain ID, Symbol, and Block explorer URL.

Same with the Polygon or other networks, just Google the information you need to add.

Ethereum mainnet is the default on Metamask, but you can easily switch to other networks by clicking here.

There are a lot of platforms that are on Binance Smart Chain like Stepn.

What's good about BSC is that it has pretty good transaction speed

and very cheap transaction fee, which is better for occasional transaction.

That's why a lot of P2E games are using Binance Smart Chain.

And I would be introducing you a lot of different P2E games and projects on BSC.

Not only Binance Smart chain, but you can also add

other networks and use various platforms with Metamask.

Go try other networks than Ethereum.

Today, we learned the basics about how to install and use Metamask, and also adding other networks.
