In the office building, a lawyer livestreams
himself after burning the body of his colleague.
[5]
He even challenges the board of directors
about his crime.
[8]
Is he a psycho or a serial killer?
[11]
Why does no one intend to stop him?
[13]
This is Movie Shortens.
[15]
Let’s find out the answers in the following
movie called: Mayhem.
[18]
Spoilers ahead.
[20]
Watch out and take care!
[21]
A new virus called ID-7, a.k.a the “Red
Eye” virus, attacks people throughout the
[26]
world.
[27]
The infected will be exposed to animalistic
impulses including: anger, depression, fear,
[33]
and wild sexual desire.
[34]
As a result, they will act on bloodlust that
can cause them to murder anyone who triggers
[39]
their rage.
[40]
Nevil Reed was the first case recorded of
murder who killed his co-worker by a pen after
[45]
positive to the virus.
[47]
The newly graduated Derek Cho helped Nevil
free from homicide thanks to a loophole defense.
[52]
Derek turned the case on the virus consequences
instead.
[56]
Within several months, the win brings Derek
to higher promotion with a corner office at
[60]
Towers and Smythe Consulting (TSC).
[62]
One morning, Derek arrives at his office,
realizing his favorite mug is gone.
[67]
After making an excuse to his family about
his “too busy” timeline, he gets to meet
[71]
with a client named Melanie, who is furious
about extending her loan time.
[76]
Seeing that this case once belonged to Irene,
Derek’s boss, Derek refuses to help her
[81]
to avoid further troubles.
[83]
Derek calls the security to send her out.
[86]
Melanie is pissed and threatens to sue the
whole TSC.
[89]
Derek sips some water from a strange glass
in the client room, not knowing that the water
[94]
is contaminated.
[95]
After that, Derek goes to look for his mug
in the tea room while a coworker gossips about
[101]
a legal case from Vandacorp, which has been
pinned on him by his superior Kara Powell.
[106]
Derek immediately rushes to see Kara, the
one he has called “Siren” as she is the
[110]
ear of the company head - John Towers.
[113]
The building is highly secured with a strict
check-in system in order to reach to superior’s
[118]
levels.
[119]
To see Kara, Derek has to wait for the elevator
to send out a passcode.
[122]
Derek confronts Kara about her framing him
to the Vandacorp case, finding that Kara also
[127]
took his mug.
[128]
The two then get to a higher level to see
John Towers by Kara’s card.
[132]
However, Kara wins over Derek, sending him
to wait for the last assessment from The Nine
[137]
- the company board of directors.
[140]
At this time, some of the people in the company
appear with the very first symptoms: red and
[145]
itchy eyes.
[146]
Considering the huge trouble of the case from
Vandacorp, The Nine agrees with John to pass
[151]
the buck to Derek.
[152]
Derek’s very close co-worker Ewan is also
unable to help him.
[156]
Derek is then given an official notice of
fire by the HR Head - Lester.
[161]
Derek is escorted downstairs by the security.
[164]
Right at that moment, he and the security
guards find that the building is under quarantine;
[169]
the ID-7 virus has been detected in the ventilation
system.
[173]
CDC agents have arrived at the building, estimating
that it will take eight hours for the virus
[178]
to be neutralized.
[181]
Shortly after the lockdown is set, everyone
in the building encounters the next symptom:
[186]
escalating anger.
[187]
The CDC instructs the boards of directors
to stay calm and controlled.
[191]
However, John becomes aggressive, knowing
that he will lose half a million dollars for
[196]
eight hour of non-working in the building.
[199]
He demands the staff to get back to work immediately
regardless of warnings from the CDC outside.
[204]
At that moment, there is a phone call telling
John that Derek wanted to come up and have
[209]
a talk with John and The Nine.
[211]
Derek, after getting infected, becomes tempered
and decides to make the Nine reconsider his
[216]
contract termination.
[217]
However, John sends Colton, known as John’s
Bull, to meet Derek instead.
[222]
Whenever John suspects some certain dangers
or dirty acts, Colton and other Bulls will
[227]
handle it.
[228]
Derek is then beaten badly while John refuses
to have a second thought on the decision.
[233]
John is a sick boss, always trying to eliminate
those he hates at all cost.
[238]
As Derek is hurt but doesn’t cry, John makes
Colton spray on Derek’s eyes so he can see
[242]
some painful tears.
[244]
Next, John wants to hear a bone break over
the phone.
[248]
Luckily, Ewan enters and fights for Derek.
[251]
However, Colton defends, Ewan hits the nails
on the wall by his head.
[255]
Erwan walks up to Derek and drops to die right
away.
[258]
John assures the guards that the virus kills
Ewan and he will handle legal issues over
[263]
Ewan’s death.
[264]
Derek rages on after hearing John say so.
[268]
One more time, Derek earns himself a hit in
the face and becomes unconscious.
[272]
John orders to lock him under the basement.
[275]
Awakening after that, Derek happens to see
Melanie again.
[279]
Melanie spits Derek in the face for rejecting
her case earlier.
[282]
The two then fight furiously but decide to
work together.
[286]
Derek has to explain to Melanie about the
effects of the ID-7 virus on the infected.
[291]
For that, all violent actions, even murders
are not liable.
[295]
Derek reminds Melanie about Irene, the woman
that ruined her case, and plan to help each
[299]
other.
[300]
Derek wants to gain his job back and avenge
for Ewan while Melanie has her reason to see
[305]
Irene.
[306]
As long as they take action within 8 hours,
they do not have to hold any legal responsibility.
[312]
Derek manages to invent a working phone in
the basement.
[315]
Next, he sets up a call with VanderCorp and
makes John join in too.
[320]
In the meeting, Frank - head of VanderCorp,
accuses TCS for turning their back on VanderCorp.
[326]
According to Derek, TCS has violated the mutual
agreements.
[330]
They meant to make VanderCorp lose at first
and blamed it to Derek instead.
[334]
Frank then tears the contract in front of
The Nine, making TCS lose their million dollar
[339]
partner.
[340]
Colton then follows the demand to chop Derek’s
hand.
[343]
As entering the basement, Melanie lures the
guards by asking if they want some pizza.
[347]
Derek appears from their backs and attacks
the two with a board.
[351]
Due to the virus and the cumulative stress,
Derek turns into a beast.
[355]
He kills Colton right away.
[358]
After that, Derek and Melanie prepare themselves
with some tools for weapons in the equipment
[363]
room before heading to the top.
[365]
It is 6 hours left.
[366]
According to the plan, Derek tells Melanie
to head to the 6th floor first where the HR
[371]
Head Lester has a level two key card.
[373]
It can take them to the 7th floor to reach
Kara with the level three card, paving the
[377]
way to reach the penthouse after that.
[380]
At first, the two spot Lester in the hallway.
[383]
Melanie shoots him with the nail gun but Lester
can avoid it.
[387]
Lester then locks himself in his office.
[390]
Melanie gets a taser shot by the Bulls.
[392]
Taking advantage of the chaos in the building,
Derek manages to run off.
[397]
Lester comes out and torture freezing Melanie
on the floor.
[400]
A moment later, Derek appears with the nail
gun.
[403]
Lester quickly hides in the office again.
[406]
Derek and Melanie threaten Lester to give
the key out.
[410]
However, as taking the key from Lester, Derek
gets stabbed in the hand.
[414]
Lester then attacks Melanie with the nail
gun, only to get killed with the saw from
[419]
the tool bag.
[420]
After that, Melanie helps Derek to draw the
scissors out of his hand.
[424]
Before heading to the 7th floor, Derek has
a video recording to fend for himself after
[429]
the lockdown.
[430]
He shows the world his red eye, meaning the
virus that caused him to be a criminal.
[434]
The staff burn Lester’s body on a trolley
after that.
[438]
The Nine also watch the video.
[440]
John immediately calls Kara and tells her
to destroy the key card before Derek arrives.
[445]
In return, John will promote her to a partner
position.
[449]
Kara deals with such an opportunity.
[451]
Kara then throws the key card to her assistant
and asks her to hide it somewhere safe.
[456]
At the penthouse, John snorts some cocaine
while blaming the CDC for not sending a SWAT
[461]
team to protect The Nine.
[463]
The CDC officer refuses to his request, making
John smash the screen.
[468]
John then rewards anyone who can turn Derek’s
head in for $450.000.
[473]
A moment later, Melanie and Derek enter Kara’s
office, who are already waiting for Derek
[477]
with some of her staff.
[479]
The two groups start to fight fiercely with
their weapons.
[482]
Melanie attacks the female staff with her
axe while Derek uses a fire-extinguisher to
[487]
assault the male ones.
[488]
The winning two meet Kara after that.
[491]
The assistant then comes in and throws a burnt
key card on the table.
[495]
Kara gets mad at her for destroying the card
instead of hiding it away.
[500]
It turns out John has sold Kara and promised
to promote the assistant if she destroys the
[504]
key.
[505]
The two women rush to each other.
[507]
Derek then video calls to John, showing Kara’s
corpe on the table and the assistant’s tounge.
[512]
Later, Derek finds a loophole to help Melanie’s
legal case.
[516]
He tells Melanie to get the boards’ signatures
and her case will be at ease.
[520]
Derek also apologizes to Melanie for not helping
her.
[524]
John calls up and shows Derek his peeing on
Ewan’s body.
[527]
This causes Derek the utmost pain.
[530]
The two then make love as the effects of the
virus.
[534]
To reach the penthouse, Derek meets Ray, the
building IT, making him hack into Irene's
[539]
laptop and get a copy of her hardware, which
values millions of dollars.
[544]
Ray lures Irene to extract a folder he’s
sent, successfully hacking into her laptop.
[550]
Derek then calls Irene, threatening to sell
all of her hardware unless she gets it back
[554]
by herself.
[555]
Derek lets Irene decide where she wants to
get her files.
[559]
After talking to John, Irene with an armed
Bull rush to see Derek.
[563]
In the meeting room, Derek sets up an exchange
with Irene.
[567]
Melanie wants Irene to sign on her papers
first.
[570]
However, Irene throws her papers back, provoking
Melanie to destroy the hacked hardware.
[576]
The Bull guy enters and attacks Derek while
Irene and Melanie are in a fight.
[580]
The Bull is killed soon with a screwdriver.
[583]
Irene sets up a deal with Derek: give Melanie
to her and she will tell Derek the passcode
[588]
to reach the penthouse.
[590]
Derek accepts, selling Melanie by restraining
her in a chair.
[594]
It turns out Derek has tricked Irene by showing
her the chair’s screws.
[598]
Melanie can escape and kill Irene easily with
a hammer.
[602]
At the penthouse, John and The Nine welcome
Derek with some champagne and a partnership
[606]
contract.
[607]
Derek denies all the great deals offered.
[610]
A moment later, John and Derek join in a battle.
[613]
There is only one minute left before the lockdown
relief.
[617]
The Nine rushes Derek to kill John, so Derek
punches him off the building.
[621]
Derek then explains his situation to the board,
eventually earning himself a partnership contract
[627]
and becoming the next CEO of TSC.
[630]
Melanie’s contract is also signed up for
extension.
[634]
The two walk out of the building just as the
lockdown is lifted.
