Social Security Payment Calendar JULY | Congressional Calendar In July (The TEC Show) - YouTube
Channel: The TEC Show
[0]
what's going on everyone welcome back to the聽
show happy Fourth of July and I wanted to do聽聽
[5]
just a quick video we're going to talk about the聽
calendar I'm also going to do the Social Security聽聽
[10]
payout calendar for July now I've I've done a聽
video I did a video last month about this and聽聽
[17]
people really really liked it for whatever reason聽
most people know when they're getting their checks聽聽
[21]
but I guess it's good just more reinforcement uh聽
and they can kind of look at the calendar we can聽聽
[26]
kind of talk about it together so I'm going聽
to do that again in this video and then the聽聽
[31]
other part of the calendar that I really want to聽
focus on is the what's what's been going on the聽聽
[35]
calendar of events when it comes to legislation聽
so we're going to take a look at that but first聽聽
[39]
off on this channel we talk about money and the聽
financial struggles that Americans are facing聽聽
[43]
today that sounds like something interesting to聽
you please subscribe to the channel and hit that聽聽
[46]
little bell notification that way you get notified聽
anytime we put out a video and like always if you聽聽
[51]
see my name and a picture of me in the comment聽
section make sure you see a check mark next to聽聽
[54]
my name that check mark signifies that it's me聽
if you do not see that check mark it's not me聽聽
[57]
it's someone trying to impersonate me okay so聽
let's get right over to our calendar here and聽聽
[63]
we'll start with the the payout schedule okay聽
now I know for a lot of people they already know聽聽
[69]
when they're getting uh when they'll be receiving聽
their checks If you're receiving Social Security聽聽
[72]
SSI SSDI okay so we're just going to go over this聽
very very briefly uh this is this is for July and聽聽
[79]
I realize since it's already the Fourth of July聽
some people have already received their checks聽聽
[82]
but I just wanted to make sure I went over it I聽
actually forgot to do it before uh before like聽聽
[88]
at the very end of June so what I'll start doing聽
if you guys like videos like this give the video a聽聽
[93]
thumbs up and I'll know that and then I'll start聽
doing it at the very very end so it'll be the聽聽
[97]
very end of July I'll do it for August and then uh聽
same thing with August the very end of August I'll聽聽
[102]
do it for September okay so just looking at our聽
calendar really quickly the first thing I want to聽聽
[106]
show you guys down here is this is just basically聽
what all these colors and everything mean okay so聽聽
[114]
um basically SSI here it will be in this color聽
here so when we're looking at the first of the聽聽
[119]
month that's when those checks will go out for聽
SSI now also we have people if you received聽聽
[126]
your Social Security checks before 1997 then聽
you fall in that category where you have the聽聽
[130]
blue here so that be on the first as well as聽
if you are receiving both Social Security and聽聽
[135]
SSI okay so uh Social Security SSI goes out on聽
the first social security goes out on the third聽聽
[142]
but in this situation because of the holiday and聽
everything uh the first is when you should have聽聽
[147]
received your check so if you have not received聽
your check then you want to make sure you follow聽聽
[151]
up on that and follow up with the Social Security聽
Administration okay now let's move forward just a聽聽
[156]
little bit here people that are were born between聽
the first and the 10th of July you're going聽聽
[163]
to receive your checks on the 13th if you were聽
born on the 11th between the 11th and the 20th聽聽
[170]
or if your birthday lies between the 11th and the聽
20th we want to look at that way you're going to聽聽
[174]
receive your checks on the 20th as well as if you聽
were if your birthday is between the 21st and the聽聽
[181]
31st that is the fourth installment and then you聽
will receive your check on the 27th and so that's聽聽
[188]
what the calendar looks like for Social Security聽
payout okay now let's get to what I really want聽聽
[193]
to discuss today because I think this is very聽
important for us to look at What legislation聽聽
[199]
has been done uh where is Congress right now聽
Congress is under recess but we want to know聽聽
[204]
when they come back and then when they go back聽
on another recess because that's very important聽聽
[208]
for us to kind of figure out what legislation can聽
get done while they're in session Okay so we know聽聽
[216]
we have good news here the gun safety legislation聽
they did pass that okay so that's something that's聽聽
[221]
off the table now and that's good because as long聽
as that was on the table I think that was going聽聽
[226]
to take priority uh just because of the recent聽
events so that's something that that we don't聽聽
[233]
have to Congress doesn't have to focus on anymore聽
which means that they can start focusing on some聽聽
[237]
of these other things we know inflation is is just聽
uh it's it's horrible right now and so that is one聽聽
[244]
thing that they will be focused on let's hope in聽
July okay and let's even before we get into all聽聽
[252]
of the uh what they could be focused on let's聽
let's look at July here okay so let's look at聽聽
[256]
this whole calendar here now July we're looking聽
at July 4th right now to Holiday we look at this聽聽
[264]
the rest of the week they will be on recess okay聽
and the Senate will return on the 11th okay so聽聽
[272]
the senator will return on the 11th so that's聽
next week Monday that's good and then the house聽聽
[278]
will return on the 12th so both the Senate and the聽
house will be in session from the 12th through the聽聽
[284]
15th uh for that week and then they will continue聽
in session until the 21st and then and when I say聽聽
[291]
they I mean both the house and the Senate now the聽
house will have a brief recess here on the 22nd聽聽
[299]
and the 25th okay so that they'll have a long聽
weekend there all right now when I say recess聽聽
[306]
I do want you guys to understand that recess means聽
they're going back to their home districts and聽聽
[312]
they are their their whole job is to represent the聽
American people and represent their district and聽聽
[317]
so when they go back to their districts they have聽
Town Hall meetings and they do things to try to聽聽
[321]
find out what what is needed in their districts聽
so that's that's what a recess is now some聽聽
[327]
politicians take an opportunity at that point to聽
take vacations and things like that if they need聽聽
[331]
to because you have to understand if you're in聽
DC you you're required to be there because you're聽聽
[336]
going to have to you're going to have to vote on聽
bills so when they have their recess that's the聽聽
[340]
real opportunity for them to kind of step away聽
if they want to and take a take a vacation if聽聽
[346]
they want to do that but when we hear recess I聽
know everyone says they're going on recess all聽聽
[350]
the time they're not working they are supposed to聽
be working but that's not always the case let's聽聽
[356]
just say that okay all right so we're looking at聽
so looking at the calendar 22nd and 25th that's聽聽
[362]
when the house will be on recess and the Senate聽
will still be there so still be there on the聽聽
[367]
22nd and 25th and then they will both return so聽
the 26 you're going to have the house returning聽聽
[373]
and they'll be there for that the rest of that聽
uh week okay and that's just July now let's go聽聽
[380]
ahead and take a look at what could potentially聽
happen in July because this is very very important聽聽
[384]
and we've heard politicians uh talking mainly聽
Democrats talking about wanting to move forward聽聽
[391]
with some type of a large Bill okay so they've聽
been trying to get this build back better Bill聽聽
[397]
through it didn't go through and so now they're聽
focused on okay what can we get through what聽聽
[402]
kind of a package can we get through and so that's聽
what they're going to be focused on I really hope聽聽
[406]
that the Democrats realize look this is their last聽
opportunity and they need to get something so put聽聽
[413]
something on paper and I mean it's it's it's kind聽
of it's like the gun safety legislation they had聽聽
[421]
to get something done they absolutely had to get聽
something done now it's not what everyone wanted聽聽
[426]
but they got something done okay it they were聽
able to do something bipartisan so I'm hoping that聽聽
[432]
they're able to do something when it comes to even聽
if it's a Reconciliation Bill do something and get聽聽
[438]
it passed in July okay so we're really going聽
to be watching this and and Congress is going聽聽
[442]
to be very very busy okay so some of the things聽
that they've talked about lowering prescription聽聽
[447]
medication uh they've talked about raising taxes聽
on the rich and then they've also talked about聽聽
[453]
lowering energy costs a big thing lowering energy聽
costs we're talking about gas we're talking about聽聽
[457]
electric so this is something they need they聽
really need to focus on as well because that聽聽
[463]
that's that's a big problem okay moving forward聽
here the child tax credit we don't know anything聽聽
[468]
about any of this okay child tax credit uh cash聽
rebates politicians have kind of gone back and聽聽
[474]
forth with it with these different topics the gas聽
tax holiday now this is something that President聽聽
[479]
Biden has said he wants okay so he's calling on聽
Congress he's calling on leadership in congress to聽聽
[486]
try to get something done when it comes to a gas聽
tax holiday a gas tax holiday is really not going聽聽
[490]
to drop the price of gas that much okay we're聽
talking about maybe 18 cents that's for uh regular聽聽
[497]
unleaded and when we're talking about diesel it聽
could be more than the neighborhood of about 20聽聽
[501]
to 24 cents now President Biden is also calling on聽
the states to do the same thing to suspend their聽聽
[508]
their gas tax and for a period of time so that聽
that's he's asking for that as well some states聽聽
[514]
have already done it okay some states have already聽
suspended their their taxes on gasoline and that's聽聽
[520]
a good thing in some states have actually extended聽
their their suspension so they suspended it let's聽聽
[525]
say for two months and then now they're doing an聽
extension so it's not a lot but it is something聽聽
[532]
to help when it comes to I mean every penny helps聽
when it comes to the situation of gas right now聽聽
[538]
all right other things now we know and this is聽
going to be something that we'll probably hear in聽聽
[543]
August because they've pretty much stopped talking聽
about it but the student loan cancellation diesel聽聽
[548]
fuel shortage this is something else that we're聽
going to hear some talk about in July we'll hear聽聽
[553]
some some politicians talk about that as well how聽
to combat against the diesel fuel shortage because聽聽
[559]
this is a huge problem as well diesel fuel is聽
at all-time highs and that means the cost of聽聽
[565]
everything goes up for all of us okay so it's very聽
very important that that be focused on okay budget聽聽
[571]
now this is something that's in September this is聽
all you're going to hear about okay you're going聽聽
[576]
to hear about the budget the budget the budget聽
we need to do something about the budget and most聽聽
[580]
likely they will do a continued resolution because聽
that's what they do all the time and they'll push聽聽
[584]
it down the road for a couple couple months and聽
then they'll revisit it maybe in December and聽聽
[588]
then probably do another continue resolution聽
but basically they need to have the budget for聽聽
[593]
2023 okay that's what that's what this means聽
they're setting their budget for 22 23 they do聽聽
[599]
it in 2022 they have to have it done by the end of聽
September so if we don't have anything done by the聽聽
[606]
end of September that means October 1st government聽
shutdown Okay so some other topics here 2400 boost聽聽
[614]
for Social Security now I put this down here and I聽
talked about it a couple weeks ago as well this is聽聽
[620]
something that Senator Bernie Sanders wants to get聽
through uh him as well as Elizabeth Warren Senator聽聽
[625]
Warren but when it comes down to it this is going聽
to be hard to get past now will we see some type聽聽
[633]
of reform for Social Security I think we will will聽
we see it in July probably not it would probably聽聽
[639]
be something that they're going to push down to聽
the end of the year because it's it's this is聽聽
[644]
hard this is going to be hard to get done and if聽
they do it in a bipartisan fashion it's going to聽聽
[649]
be even harder because you have Republicans on one聽
side saying yes let's reform Social Security we聽聽
[654]
don't want the trust fund to run out of money but聽
we don't want to expand Social Security and then聽聽
[658]
you have Democrats on the other side saying yes聽
we need to reform Social Security and we also want聽聽
[663]
to expand Social Security so that's the difference聽
there and so we'll have to see what they do in the聽聽
[669]
future but I don't anticipate seeing anything聽
when it comes to any major legislation or any聽聽
[675]
major move towards legislation they already have聽
Senator Bernie Sanders has his plan already but聽聽
[679]
as far as any movement I don't anticipate seeing聽
any movement in July I mean it would be great if聽聽
[684]
there if there was and if there is I'm going to聽
let you know immediately that that's what's going聽聽
[688]
on so make sure you subscribe and hit that little聽
bell notification so you'll get notified but as聽聽
[693]
of right now when it comes to the 2400 boost for聽
Social Security I don't anticipate seeing anything聽聽
[699]
in July I think they're going to be focused聽
mainly on this larger style bill that they can聽聽
[704]
get through okay when I say larger style bill it聽
will affect people on Social Security and people聽聽
[711]
on Medicare because of the lower prescription聽
medication which lower prescription medication聽聽
[715]
will will affect us all will help us all but when聽
it comes down to it I just don't see them being聽聽
[722]
able to move two bills in the matter of three聽
weeks I think that would be a real real stretch聽聽
[728]
okay last thing I want to talk about here uh the聽
filibuster Roe versus Wade now this is something聽聽
[734]
that President Biden mentioned a few days ago聽
as far as the filibuster making an exception聽聽
[740]
for moving forward with some type of a row versus聽
Wade legislation and that's the codify Roe versus聽聽
[748]
Wade okay and I don't know if I said road before聽
I might have said Road my voice as you guys can聽聽
[753]
see I'm it's a challenge right now because I'm聽
still I'm almost there but I'm still getting聽聽
[758]
over uh this uh this cold okay uh last thing I聽
want to take a look at is we looked at July so聽聽
[764]
we know what the calendar looks like in July but聽
I also want to take a look at August okay just so聽聽
[769]
you guys understand what they are headed to so uh聽
the the urgency of of getting things done in July聽聽
[777]
is is a real thing because if you look on our聽
calendar we have in July they have of the three聽聽
[783]
weeks okay so let's drop that down a little bit聽
so they have the three weeks here that they need聽聽
[787]
to get something done now when you go into August聽
this is where it gets really interesting because聽聽
[793]
you'll have the Senate there for that first week聽
and then the Senate will go on recess for the rest聽聽
[797]
of the month but guess what the house they're聽
going to be on recess the whole month they're聽聽
[803]
not returning until September okay and when they聽
return it's going to be September actually the聽聽
[809]
house Returns on September 13th okay the Senate聽
will actually return on September 6th so that's聽聽
[817]
a long time okay now this is for for people in聽
the House Representatives they're all running聽聽
[823]
for re-election so this is their time to go back聽
and campaign okay so that's the reason why we have聽聽
[829]
this big this big break in August and so there聽
this break is very serious for them so they are聽聽
[835]
going to take this break because they want to get聽
back to their their home districts and do their聽聽
[840]
campaigning now when it comes to the Senate you聽
know there's only a third that's running and so聽聽
[845]
what that means is you have Senators that aren't聽
running for reelection and so there the urgency聽聽
[850]
for them to get back to their home districts聽
is not the same as people in the house okay so聽聽
[857]
that's what we're looking at just looking at聽
this calendar here we know that if the house聽聽
[862]
Returns on the 13th they're they're all this聽
whole time they're all going to be focused聽聽
[867]
on guess what they're going to be focused on聽
the budget okay that's what they're going to聽聽
[871]
be focused on because they have to do something聽
so they can either do that continued resolution聽聽
[875]
so they'll have a couple more months before聽
government shutdown but you're going to hear聽聽
[879]
it's going to come up it's going to come down to聽
the last minute because that's the way it always聽聽
[882]
does you're going to have politicians going back聽
and forth back and forth and then finally they'll聽聽
[887]
do a continued resolution and then they'll move聽
it forward for another couple of months that's聽聽
[892]
just we see this every every year it's ridiculous聽
how politicians are they can't just come up with聽聽
[899]
something and say look this is going to be our聽
budget for 2023 they always have to wait till聽聽
[903]
the last minute and you hear the talks of the聽
government shutdown and then they find a way to聽聽
[909]
do a continued resolution and kick the can down聽
the road but that's what we're looking at when聽聽
[913]
it comes down to it so that is our calendar聽
I just wanted to go over that and I'll keep聽聽
[917]
doing doing the calendar at least once a month聽
and we can talk about the different legislation聽聽
[921]
that we've heard about and what we think could聽
potentially happen so in July I think the real聽聽
[926]
focus in July is going to be let's put together a聽
bill that has something when it comes to lowering聽聽
[932]
prescription medication and and doing some type聽
of a tax hike on the rich I think that's the main聽聽
[937]
focus in July and that's what we're going to hear聽
a lot about they're also going to talk about the聽聽
[941]
Roe versus Wade that's going to be something聽
that's in there as well and some type of carve聽聽
[946]
out filibuster whatever however they're going to聽
figure it out that's going to also be talked about聽聽
[950]
in July when they return so if you guys have any聽
questions post them down below if you like this聽聽
[955]
video please give me a thumbs up please subscribe聽
for more and I'll talk to you in the next one bye
