How To Get Real Estate Documents Notarized For Free - YouTube

Channel: OWNER FINANCED LAND

[1]
hi folks Jesse Ivy back with you again today聽 and today we are going to talk to you about how聽聽
[7]
you can get your real estate documents notarized聽 for free so if you use you know warranty deeds or聽聽
[18]
contracts or whatever and you want them聽 notarized i'm going to tell you how you聽聽
[23]
can get these notarized for free and聽 that's coming up right after this
[50]
welcome back folks so in today's video what we're聽 going to do is we're going to talk to you about聽聽
[57]
how to get real estate documents notarized for聽 free so if you know what i'm talking about it's聽聽
[66]
like you know like getting a contract notarized or聽 getting a real estate deed notarized. Now there's聽聽
[72]
a difference between getting something聽 notarized and getting something recorded聽聽
[78]
for example let's say we're talking about a deed.聽 If i go to the county and i get the deed recorded聽聽
[84]
in my name because i just bought the land from聽 somebody if i get the deed recorded with the聽聽
[90]
seller and they change it over to my name聽 that's official and it goes into the county聽聽
[96]
records. Okay, if you get something notarized聽 what that does is that gives constructive notice聽聽
[102]
to everybody in the world that basically聽 you have an interest either in this property聽聽
[107]
or this deed or this contract but that you have聽 an interest so it gives constructive notice聽聽
[113]
to everyone in the world that basically聽 you have an interest in this property.聽聽
[119]
So if you don't notarize something it basically聽 just stays hidden and it is not a public record.聽聽
[127]
Now there's nothing wrong with not getting聽 something notarized but if you want to get聽聽
[131]
something notarized and i'll cut you know like聽 one time for example i bought this house okay聽聽
[137]
and i signed the contract with the guy he didn't聽 want it recorded with the county because he still聽聽
[144]
had a mortgage on the property. So what i did was聽 i told him well i feel a little nervous you know聽聽
[150]
i'm gonna give you this money fifteen thousand聽 dollars down and i feel a little nervous about聽聽
[155]
not at least getting it recorded at the county聽 and he said well i don't want to record it because聽聽
[161]
then they could call my loan due. So instead聽 what i did then as i said okay well how about聽聽
[166]
if we just get it notarized? So that's what we聽 did we got the document the contract notarized聽聽
[172]
and then everything was fine and when the time聽 came for me to act on the contract and actually聽聽
[179]
get a new loan and cash him out. I already had a聽 notarized document. So one of the ways that you聽聽
[186]
can get something like that notarized like a deed聽 or a like if you're writing up a deed and you're聽聽
[194]
you know you're selling it to somebody and you聽 want to get it notarized because that's required聽聽
[199]
in order to actually record it with the county.聽 So let's just use as an example let's say i have聽聽
[205]
10 acres in Nevada and i'm going to sell it. Okay聽 and i sold to somebody okay and i'm writing up the聽聽
[211]
deed in their name and i i'm gonna record it with聽 the county but it's required by law that i get it聽聽
[217]
notarized first and they want it notarized聽 so when you go get something notarized you聽聽
[222]
have to show them your id you have to prove that聽 you are in fact like in my case i'm Jesse Ivy.聽聽
[228]
So i have to prove that to show my driver's聽 license or a passport or something like that聽聽
[232]
but a lot of times people what they do is they end聽 up you know they want to get something notarized聽聽
[238]
and my choices are like this well i could go to聽 Postal Connections you know or you know Kinkos聽聽
[246]
or someplace like that. Well those places are聽 fine and sometimes people even just have a聽聽
[252]
notary service where the notary charges a fee for聽 me to go in and have this document signed by them聽聽
[260]
acknowledged stamped and from there on you know聽 then it will be notarized where i can go to the聽聽
[266]
county and i can get the deed recorded. But a lot聽 of times there's fees and those fees can start at聽聽
[273]
you know maybe $15 or $20 dollars they can go all聽 the way up to $50 bucks. It depended on let's say聽聽
[279]
i had multiple documents that i want to notarize聽 you know maybe this document's twenty dollars this聽聽
[285]
one's twenty five dollars or or whatever. So how聽 do you get something notarized for free? Well if聽聽
[294]
you're like me, it took me a while to figure that聽 out believe it or not. Over the course of a few聽聽
[300]
years when i first got into real estate, i was聽 getting everything you know notarized you know聽聽
[306]
at the Postal Connections or from a local notary聽 i knew or somebody like that. Well for me i use聽聽
[314]
US Bank and i've been going there for years. You聽 know US Bank in my opinion is a pretty good bank聽聽
[319]
and so what i do is i just go in i sit in the seat聽 in the front and i wait for for them to call me.聽聽
[325]
They'll call me and i'll they'll say well what can聽 we do for you today Mr Ivy and i'll say well what聽聽
[330]
i have here is i have a deed and i need to get it聽 notarized and because i have an account there in聽聽
[336]
fact i have multiple accounts at US Bank. Because聽 i have an account there they actually notarize my聽聽
[344]
deed for free. If i have an addendum of property聽 value form along with that if i have a deed and聽聽
[352]
addendum a property value and i bring that聽 in. They notarize both of those documents聽聽
[357]
for free. Why do they do that because i have a聽 bank account there. You know if i had a contract聽聽
[363]
and i wanted to go in there and have the contract聽 signed in front of them you know that's the thing聽聽
[369]
when you get something notarized you do not聽 pre-sign it before you walk into the front door.聽聽
[374]
You want to wait and get in front of the people聽 you know the notary at US Bank who wherever you聽聽
[380]
go. At any bank has a notary most banks do or聽 a credit union but you just go in there and聽聽
[387]
you don't sign it before you walk in the front聽 door. You go in with your documents your deed聽聽
[392]
or or your contract or whatever and you bring it聽 in there and you sign it usually in front of them.聽聽
[399]
In front of the notary and you bring your driver's聽 license or your passport so it identifies that聽聽
[404]
that is you and so that they know it. Because聽 you might from time to time you might know the聽聽
[409]
notary but then again you might not. So you have聽 to bring your id with you to prove your identity.聽聽
[414]
So if you're trying to figure out a way to save聽 money by getting something notarized for free.聽聽
[420]
I would suggest going to your credit union going聽 to your bank and using these resources for free聽聽
[426]
so you have to pay anything. We'll be back again聽 very soon with another video for you to watch聽聽
[432]
and this is jesse signing off聽 from The Owner Terms Land Network.
