McMichaels are being held for felony

murder in the shotgun killing of 25 year

old Ahmad our burry back in February

while he was jogging unarmed on a

residential street

Gregory McMichael previously told Glenn

County police he suspected our burry was

a burglar McMichael is a former
[63]
investigator for the district attorney

District Attorney investigator Gregory

McMichael has a lot of relationship with

with law enforcement with the judicial
[86]
community and the corrections department
[87]
community here at the Glenn County Jail

after working in Glenn County for more
[92]
than 20 years tonight he and his son
[95]
Travis remain behind bars at the Glynn
[97]
County Jail for the murder of 25 year

old Ahmad Arbor II on February 23rd

Gregory McMichael and his son Travis

appeared to be very tired as they stood
[107]
before the judge this afternoon the two
[109]
remain on a no bond status until a
[111]
Superior Court judge takes up this case

during a press conference this morning

with state investigators GBI officials

said the person who shot that cell phone
[119]
video of the deadly confrontation is
[121]
part of their investigation

William rowdy Bryan who lives down the

street from the McMichaels shot the
[128]
video police say he chased our burry and
[130]
tried to unsuccessfully block him with
[132]
his car

before following him in the last moments

of his life GBI investigators also say

the case will go to a grand jury they

expect it to go to trial we base our
[142]
decisions on two things one of facts and

the other the law whatever the facts are

we apply the law to it if the law says

what the facts are is a felony murder

then we take the warrants for it I'm

very comfortable in telling you that

there's there's more than sufficient

probable cause in this case when we take
[159]
this case to Granger and if it does we
[165]
expect it will perhaps to go through a

child who your innocence okay the legal

principles will be explained by the

judge as you heard investigators say

they're they feel as if they have a very

strong case against Gregory and Travis

they had new elements from the last two

days said the Glenn County case did not

they said they spent the first day

reviewing the information excuse me from

the first case that the Glenn County had

set up and then they came into this

neighborhood and started canvassing they

say they all agreed there was sufficient

probable cause to make arrests hundreds

of people gathered on the steps of the

Glenn County Courthouse early Friday

demanding justice in the deadly shooting

of a mod Armory all right good morning

minutes before the demonstration began

the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said

new information discovered over the last
[238]
48 hours led to the arrest of father and

son Gregory and Travis McMichael for

felony murder the two men are seen in

Reynolds says they received a call from

district attorney Tom Durden Tuesday to

third district attorney assigned to this

case since February dirting claims he's

the case file since April 14th but GBI
[269]
says it was requested to investigate

after the video was released anonymously
[274]
to the public

director Reynolds says his investigators

reviewed the case file Wednesday and
[279]
after canvassing the neighborhood
[280]
Thursday obtained warrants for the
[282]
McMichaels arrest we base our decisions
[285]
on two things one of facts and the other
[287]
the law whatever the facts are we apply
[290]
the law to it if the law says what the
[292]
facts are is a felony murder then we
[294]
take the warrants for it I'm very
[296]
comfortable in telling you that there's
[297]
there's more than sufficient probable
[299]
cause in this case for felony murder but
[301]
questions remain about the third person
[303]
behind the camera identified as William
[306]
rowdy Brien Gregory McMichael detailed
[308]
to police that Brian was attempting to
[310]
block him on that street but was
[312]
unsuccessful we're continuing to look at
[315]
all the evidence they're continuing to
[316]
do things that haven't been done yet and
[318]
we'll plan on doing that the rest of the
[320]
time it takes before they make some
[322]
decision or conclusion whether or not
[324]
probable cause exists to arrest anyone
[327]
else coming up at six o'clock we've

obtained the arrest warrants we'll tell
[335]
you what those arrest warrants are

telling us and also we'll tell you why a

hate crime a lot of people are talking

about that possibly being at play in

this case but we're telling you why that
