[81]
I, Jagdeep Singh, welcome you to Groww YouTube channel
[84]
Let's quickly go to the main content
[87]
and with a live demo, I will explain how to invest in stocks
[92]
using Groww App
[100]
So, friends, before going to the LIVE demo, I will explain some of the very important things related to investment in stocks
[107]
First, what does it mean to 'buy a stock' of a company?
[110]
It means you are buying ownership in that company
[114]
and after that, if you are buying any stock
[118]
Suppose, you bought 10 stocks of Maruti Suzuki
[122]
and these stocks come to your Demat account after you buy them
[125]
and stays in your Demat account
[127]
Now, what is a Demat account?
[129]
Demat account is just like a Bank Account
[131]
A bank account is used to keep money, similarly, Demat account is used to keep stocks
[137]
If you haven't started your investment journey, you will have to open an account
[143]
you will have to onboard on Groww
[145]
Coming to 'Onboard' the onboarding process used to be very complicated back then
[153]
you had to sign on long papers and then courier them
[157]
and after courier, it used to take around 2-3 days for your account to activate
[162]
The process was so complicated back then but nowadays it has become very simple
[167]
Suppose today is trading day and at 10 am in the morning I decide to start investing in stocks
[172]
So, all you need do to start investing is Download the Groww App
[177]
After downloading and signing up, you have to upload all the important documents as mentioned
[183]
and fill the important details and after that in the end, if your Mobile number is linked to Aadhar
[190]
you need to provide your Aadhar number and after that you will receive an OTP on your linked mobile number
[196]
after entering the OTP, your e sign will be done
[199]
and your job is done
[201]
which means once your job is done, your account will be activated in a few minutes
[206]
and as decided at 10 am, you can now buy any stock on the same day
[215]
so this is what I intended to say before demo that if you haven't opened your account yet, quickly get it opened
[222]
and the further process, I will tell you detail that how you can buy or sell stocks here
[228]
and will also explain how you can take an informed decision
[232]
as this question might pop up in your mind that even I start investing, which stock should I invest in?
[238]
so, I will try to answe this question and some points that can help you in making an informed decision
[246]
So, friends, as you can see on my screen, once you create an account and come to Groww website, you will see these details
[254]
and you can see here the options to invest such as Mutual Funds, Stocksm Gold and US stocks which is going to be LIVE soon
[263]
So, firstly, if talk about mutual funds, you can see some of the popular mutual funds here
[268]
you can serch for any other mutual fund and select the one in which you are planning to invest
[274]
Now let's go to Stocks which is our main point of discussion
[278]
To invest in stocks, you can see all the details in this stocks page
[284]
that will give you a feel of the market so that you know what is going on in the market currently
[289]
If I talk about main index, Nifty50 and Sensex
[294]
you can see the changes here and know where Nifty50 and Sensex are trading right now
[298]
and you can also see, who were the top gainers, top losers for the day
[304]
and if you are interested in a particular sector, you can also directly click it and see the stocks there
[309]
Suppose, if I want to check out the banking sector and banks under it
[314]
So, after clicking here and I will go to the banking sector where all the banks' information is there
[321]
and from here we can select any stock to invest in
[325]
Suppose, I come to this page and I find a Bank which is State Bank of India and I click on it
[332]
after clicking in it, I land on SBI's product page
[337]
now as you can see here, on SBI'sproduct page, you can first see the chart
[342]
from here you can convert it into candlestick if you want to see it in candlestick
[347]
and on scrolling down further, you can see NSE and BSE, wherever you want to invest
[352]
you can select accordingly
[356]
you can see the basic details here such as performance, today's low 52
[360]
what was high or low in the week
[362]
you can see here the quantities that are for buying and selling in the market this time
[369]
and if I talk about the company's brands', you can see all the details of the brand logo here
[375]
then you if you want to know about the company's details, you can check the company details here
[381]
and as I say in my videos, all the important important information
[385]
on the basis of which you decide whether to invest or not will be present here
[392]
If we talk about the banking sector, P/B ratio is very important
[396]
so, you can see the market value, P/B and P/E ratio, EPS, Book value, all the details you can check out here
[402]
and if we scroll down we can also check out the profit and loss statements of the company
[408]
if you want to check company revenue, interest income is very important in the banking sector
[413]
so basically you can see all the details here
[416]
you can also check the details about Balance sheet and cash flow
[420]
all the details that helps you to make an informed decision about investing are present here
[428]
Now suppose, if for purely educational purpose I explain to you how to invest and how to buy your first stock
[436]
so to buy any stock, there is no financial jargon here; you just have to enter the quantity of the stocks you wish to buy
[444]
Suppose I want to buy a share of SBI, place the market order
[448]
and I will enter '1' here and will press buy directly
[451]
and within few seconds, my order will be fulfilled
[453]
and If you want the intraday option, you can change it from delivery
[459]
and by clicking 1, you can make your position in intraday
[462]
so, here it is very simple to trade in intraday as well as in delivery
[467]
here buy entering a few details you can trade instantly and you can check out all the important details
[473]
such as how much X leverage you will get if you do intraday in this stock
[477]
so it explains how to buy your preferred stock
[482]
after buying, if I go to my investments, here you can check what and all investments have been made
[489]
so as you can see here all the stocks in my holdings and all the stocks purchased
[495]
You can also check out other details such as invested value, total returns and one-day returns
[501]
and all the intraday positions given by you can be checked out here
[507]
so if you want to exit from your intraday position here
[511]
So you have to press the exit button and after that you have to select 'sell' and after selecting sell, you can exit from your position by clicking this button
[520]
so the moment you exit from your intraday position, these will be grade out and the numbers will stop moving
[527]
after intraday position, if you want to check what orders you have placed in the present day
[531]
you have to click here and after that, you have to go to orders
[536]
you can see the orders you have placed
[539]
like the one which I have placed to explain you and bought an order of SBI
[544]
so here you can see all the details of your order such as what's the Groww Account id and NSE order id
[550]
you can track all the details from here
[554]
So, if I come to the details of my SBI holdings, I can see all the details here
[560]
such as what was my average price as I bought one stock to explain to you
[564]
so the average price was 195.60 and currently, it is trading at 196.25
[570]
so Ican see one day returns and total returns as well
[575]
and these are my delivery positions thatI had taken for the day and placed the order on NSE
[580]
if I want to buy more order of this stock, I can directly buy one more stock from the same page itself
[586]
which is very simple!
[588]
so, friends, I only wanted to tell you that the entire process of buying and selling of the stocks
[595]
is very simplified and you don't have to know about any financial jargons
[601]
you can go to any stock directly and if you want to search for a specific one, you can search from here
[607]
as you can see SBI here, you can go to the page and with minimal details such as how many stocks you want to buy
[615]
with such details, you can hit the buy button and you can buy such stocks
[619]
which means buying stocks is pretty simple and you need not know about any financial jargon
[625]
and the entire journey is very simplified for you
[628]
and which helps you in making an informed decision as we provide all the financial information about the stock on the same page
[635]
so that you can do a complete research before buying any stock rather than speculation
[640]
so, friends, today's videos was meant for purely educational purpose and we wanted to explain
[646]
how you can buy or sell any stock on Groww
[650]
and by now you must have understood that buying or selling of any stock is quite simple
[654]
you don't have to get into any financial jargon
[657]
your journey starts with the company you want to invest in and Groww provides all the necessary details of that company
[664]
all the financial statements, company's past performance and after checking out all the details, you can take your decision
[670]
and after you have decided, enter your quantity and with just one click you can add the required money
[677]
and within seconds you can start your investment journey
[680]
and after that, as I have explained about market order, limit order
[685]
you can set the exchange from NSE to BSE and if you want to place the order in delivery, you can buy/sell in delivery
[692]
if you want to make position in intraday you can click on the delivery toggle which changes it to intraday
[697]
where you get extra leverage
[699]
so if you want to make position in intraday, you can do that also
[704]
I have already told you in details how you can check all your holdings and how to track your positions
[711]
and when you feel like your objective is fulfilled from your positions,, so in the right time you should square off from that position
[718]
so friends, whatever stocks we have chosen for today's video is purely for educational purpose only
[723]
we don't provide any recommendation to buy or sell any stock
