[3]
Hello, Welcome to our channel.
[5]
Iâm Richi and Iâm Deepak.
[7]
So, first of all, to start with, thank you so much for all the feedback and the likes on our previous video âHome buying seriesâ.
[13]
As promised,
[14]
we are continuing this series,
[16]
and, in todayâs episode, weâre gonna talk about âHow to improve your Credit Score using a Credit Card?â
[22]
If youâre new to our channel, thank you so much for stopping by.
[25]
Weâre here on Youtube as âMumsMantraâ.
[27]
Weâre a young family of three.
[29]
Weâre raising our baby girl âArshyaâ together in Indo-Canadian style.
[35]
Letâs begin the show.
[37]
Mostly home purchases in Canada are from Mortgage, either from a Banks or Lenders,
[42]
thatâs why itâs very important to have your Credit History and Financial Records strong,
[48]
because when you go to buy a house, then Lender decides which type of mortgage will you get at what price after seeing those numbers and Credit History.
[56]
Just one thing before we start this video,
[58]
All these informations that we are providing to you are based on our personal experience.
[63]
Thereâs no right or wrong way to improve or to build your Credit Score.
[67]
There are few reference links that we are sharing with you in the description box which you can refer to.
[73]
As soon as you land in Canada, take an appointment within one or two days,
[76]
go and visit your bank to open an account.
[79]
And when you open an account, thereâs an option of taking Credit Card from them.
[84]
For any reason, if you donât get Credit Card with your Debit Card,
[88]
you can always go for the Secured Credit Card,
[91]
which is nothing but you just have to provide security for a while.
[96]
Once you get a Credit Card,
[98]
the second most step is, ditch those Indian Credit Cards.
[102]
So most of us carry ICICI or some type of Forex Credit Cards, which we use for very long.
[108]
So stop using it.
[110]
As soon as you get a Canadian Credit Card, start using it and start building your history.
[114]
If you wanna see how life look like for us in Canada,
[117]
you can go to our channel and have a look at the playlists.
[120]
You will find various videos there
[122]
we try to post around two videos in a week.
[125]
So I remember, when we came, initially our score was around 620,
[130]
which is not even considered to be a good Credit Score.
[134]
But the way weâve used it for all little expenses,
[137]
Weâve already started building our credit score,
[140]
and within two months, we were there at 710, which is counted in the Good category.
[146]
So, if youâre also coming to Canada then you wonât find your Credit Score above 650.
[152]
Donât get disheartened.
[153]
A simple remedy to improve is to start using it as often as you can.
[158]
So now we want to share what tips we used
[162]
which we realized that this maintained our Credit Score.
[166]
So, just to tell you guys,
[168]
My credit score is 751,
[171]
which according to CreditKarma is very good.
[174]
Richiâs score is a bit low because we didnât use much of Richiâs Credit Card.
[177]
Thatâs one of the mistakes that we did.
[180]
Then you gonna use it, I guess.
[181]
Yaa, you better should be.
[183]
So the first thing is,
[185]
When you come to Canada and you need a Car,
[188]
always and always take a loan against the Car.
[190]
The reason is that the moment you take a loan, they start building your Credit History,
[195]
and that loan is a bigger loan that youâre taking.
[198]
So these are not like small Credit card payments,
[201]
so it affects your credit score a lot when you start making payments against it on a monthly basis.
[207]
Second thing is,
[208]
You have to get a telephone connection, right?
[210]
So thereâre again in Canada, you can get a Prepaid and you can also get a Postpaid.
[215]
So the payments that youâre making against your Postpaid Bill also helps in maintaining your good credit score.
[222]
If youâre wondering whereâs Arshya in this whole video,
[225]
then presenting you,
[226]
here she is.
[229]
Hi, Arshya. Sheâs busy eating food right now.
[233]
She started giving us so hard time.
[235]
Feeding her is like more tough than making a video in one shot.
[244]
Aaaaaaaa
[245]
Okay, get back to work guys.
[247]
The third tip is,
[248]
Set up an automatic payment for your bills,
[252]
So say for an example,
[253]
Your mobile bills,
[254]
Or anything that you own to a company, set up an automatic payment thtough your bank.
[258]
That could be Internet Bill or Cable TV Bill
[262]
Electricity Bill
[264]
Right
[264]
The advantage of that is, youâll never miss the payment.
[267]
For most of us buying a home is a single most investment that we do in our entire life.
[273]
And for this, a key is a âGood Creditâ.
[277]
So the fourth tip is,
[278]
Try to get a Credit Card from the bank where you have an account.
[282]
The advantage of this is,
[284]
if your Savings Account, Chequing Account and Credit Card is of the same bank,
[290]
Then itâs easier to make payments,
[292]
and itâs also a One-Stop place to see your payments, due payments, and also payments wonât be missed.
[299]
And the fifth one, which we already said, again and again, we even said in our previous video,
[305]
that always get a Credit Card for both of the partners and Use it.
[309]
This problem happened with us, we used one of our more and other didnât,
[314]
one has a Credit Score and the other hasnât.
[317]
So this is all we have for you in todayâs episode.
[320]
I hope you find this video informative and useful.
