our food is broken down into glucose by the聽 body and our blood sugar rises in response to聽聽

the rise in blood sugar insulin is released and聽 insulin's job here is to move the excess glucose聽聽

from the bloodstream to our cells the cells take聽 the glucose and blood sugar goes back to baseline聽聽

however as i just mentioned insulin resistance聽 means that our cells are not responding to聽聽

insulin correctly they are not taking in blood聽 sugar as they should and this mismanagement of聽聽

blood sugar leads to a whole host of other聽 problems it can lead to type 2 diabetes聽聽

polycystic ovarian syndrome it can increase聽 your risk of heart disease and other diseases聽聽

you have reduced your carb intake you're snacking聽 less often and you are intermittent fasting but聽聽

how can you know if it's working let's get into聽 the five signs now and if you are a woman make聽聽

sure to stick around until the end because number聽 five might surprise you number one you don't feel聽聽

hungry after eating feeling hungry after eating聽 is common for people with insulin resistance as we聽聽

spoke about earlier insulin resistance means that聽 your cells are resisting insulin so basically the聽聽

glucose the energy it's there and ready for your聽 cells but your cells are not able to take it in聽聽

so as far as they are concerned you need more聽 energy and you need to eat more and so this聽聽

results in a constant feeling of hunger despite聽 you having just eaten a meal but when this starts聽聽

to fade away and you start to feel more satiated聽 after eating this is when you will know that聽聽

your insulin sensitivity is improving number聽 two increased hdl and decreased triglycerides聽聽

this is probably the best way to test for insulin聽 resistance besides getting a fasting insulin聽聽

test ben bichmann actually refers to this as the聽 poor man's method for testing insulin resistance聽聽

if you have low hdl and high triglycerides this聽 is a very strong indicator of insulin resistance聽聽

so if you get more blood work done and your聽 hdl has increased and your triglycerides have聽聽

decreased this is a sign that you're moving in the聽 right direction and that your insulin resistance聽聽

is reversing number three less sugar cravings this聽 one kind of ties in with number one but it also聽聽

differs as well yes if your cells are not taking聽 in glucose properly this can lead to cravings and聽聽

specifically sugar cravings but there's a second聽 part to this depending on how insulin resistant聽聽

you are it can sometimes be related to reactive聽 hypoglycemia or low blood sugar this occurs when聽聽

we eat foods that raise blood sugar significantly聽 and our bodies produce too much insulin in聽聽
