it looks like a very serious event but
[3]
we'll find out when they look at the
[6]
documents I think people are going to
[8]
see a lot of bad things happen I hope
[10]
it's not so because if it is there's
[13]
never been anything like it in the
[15]
history of our country this was a
[16]
terrible situation what we're doing is
[19]
we're cleaning everything up it's so
[22]
important what I'm doing is a service to
[26]
this country we now call it Spygate
[28]
you'll calling it Spygate a lot of bad
[31]
things have happened welcome back to
[33]
this special edition of Hannity that was
[35]
President Trump earlier this week going
[37]
on offense against the deep state and
[40]
the president didn't stop there
[42]
he wrote on Twitter today quote the
[44]
Democrats are now alluding to the
[46]
concept that having an informant placed
[48]
in an opposing party's campaign is
[51]
different than having a spy as illegal
[54]
as that may be but what about an
[56]
informant who was paid a fortune and who
[59]
sets up way earlier than the Russian
[62]
hoax the president then wrote quote can
[65]
anyone even imagine having spies place
[67]
in a competing campaign by the people
[70]
and party in absolute power for the sole
[73]
purpose of political advantage and gain
[75]
and to think that the party in question
[77]
even with the expenditure of far more
[80]
money lost the president's comments are
[83]
causing people like former CIA director
[86]
John Brennan to lash out take a look
[89]
what's the difference between an
[91]
informant and a spy well first of all I
[94]
think is very typical of mr. Trump to
[96]
mischaracterize he's a master of
[98]
mischaracterization and dishonesty but
[100]
again this is something that mr. Trump
[102]
is as you said masterful out in terms of
[104]
twisting the truth in order to support
[107]
his narrative a lot of people are
[108]
complaining that the FBI and the CIA and
[110]
others didn't do enough to try to
[112]
uncover what Russia was doing well this
[114]
is exactly what the FBI was supposed to
[117]
do and thank goodness they did it
[119]
joining us now with reaction is the
[121]
author of the upcoming book the Russia
[123]
hoax Fox News legal analyst Gregg
[126]
Jarrett Judicial Watch president tom
[128]
Fitton and Washington Times columnist
[129]
and Fox News contributor Charlie hurt
[132]
all right Greg I'm going to start
[133]
with you did the FBI have a legal basis
[137]
to start a criminal investigation did
[139]
they even have a sufficient intelligence
[142]
basis to launch an intelligence probe
[144]
they had neither and the evidence is
[147]
abundantly clear and yet they launched
[150]
this dilating investigation into
[153]
then-candidate Trump they continued it
[155]
with President Trump and so the
[157]
president is rightly outraged and I'm
[160]
happy he's expressing it that they
[162]
essentially used a spy to infiltrate his
[166]
campaign to elicit and induce and entrap
[170]
people into saying incriminating things
[172]
if it was done for purely political
[174]
reasons and it appears it was that is a
[178]
crime it's called abuse of power
[181]
deprivation of rights under color of law
[183]
they were depriving candidate Trump of
[185]
his constitutional rights his right to
[188]
privacy and Fourth Amendment rights okay
[191]
Tom fit and I'm gonna go to you you know
[193]
there's a lot of talk about an informant
[195]
and a spy what is the difference between
[198]
an informant and a spy if there is one
[200]
at all there is no practical difference
[203]
that's gamesmanship on the part of the
[205]
Obama administration the top leadership
[208]
which this week was forced to admit they
[211]
did have someone targeting the Trump
[213]
campaign and was on the payroll of at
[215]
least one agency we don't know maybe
[216]
more than one agency would which would
[219]
have been without precedent within at
[221]
least in modern American history you'd
[223]
have to go back to the 60s to find
[225]
anything similar in terms of
[227]
governmental abuse and when you hear
[229]
clapper and Brennan and Comey and the
[231]
rest complained and criticized President
[234]
Trump for highlighting their corruption
[236]
you're looking at a list of people who
[239]
have in my view significant criminal and
[241]
civil liability over what went on on
[244]
their watch during the Obama
[246]
administration and after and and you
[248]
know and when you hear Brennan go crazy
[250]
and attack Trump like he is you have to
[253]
wonder why on earth that this why what
[256]
on earth was he ever allowed near any
[258]
counterintelligence investigation
[260]
related to mr. Trump
[261]
he obviously hated him and it explains
[263]
why things went off the rails they did
[265]
under the Obama administration
[266]
you know Charlie when when Tom says they
[268]
obviously hated Donald Trump I don't
[271]
think that it could be any clearer
[273]
you had a whole cabal at the top of the
[275]
FBI and in the intelligence community
[278]
there who hated Donald Trump and yet a
[281]
year ago when Devin newness and when it
[283]
appeared that you know there was
[284]
something cookin here and they thought
[286]
that you know the president was wearing
[288]
a tinfoil hat and Devin eNOS is off his
[290]
rocker you know it's all coming to
[293]
fruition oh it really is I mean remember
[295]
everybody thought that Devin Nunez was
[297]
he was it behaving bizarrely and he was
[300]
meeting with intelligence officials in
[302]
various secure locations at the White
[304]
House grounds and all of the press was
[306]
making fun of him and what we're seeing
[308]
today is that basically ever all of the
[310]
concerns that he sort of hinted that
[312]
back then a year ago over a year ago
[315]
have come to fruition and as as Tom
[318]
pointed out even you know even the
[320]
Democrats are having to acknowledge that
[322]
yes indeed they did insert a spy into
[325]
the political campaign and I think it is
[327]
absolutely unprecedented we've seen you
[330]
know we've heard of hints of this kind
[332]
of thing back during the the 60s and 70s
[335]
right it was not I would argue it's not
[338]
nearly as bad and as extensive as this
[341]
because among other things these people
[343]
are actually going you know they were
[345]
actually actively punishing people their
[347]
political opponents which is a shock it
[349]
is shocking and the amazing part of it
[352]
Greg is that you know you've got the
[354]
look the Republicans now are looking at
[357]
some people whose names we've only heard
[359]
a bill pre-snap
[360]
he's a guy who was the assistant
[362]
director of the FBI counterintelligence
[364]
he was struck sports
[366]
he helped change the name from you know
[368]
gross negligence to extremely careless
[369]
and then you've got Michael Steinbach in
[372]
John yeah Cologne or whatever whatever
[374]
his name is these are people with the
[376]
upper echelon of the FBI being called
[378]
before Congress do you think they're
[380]
gonna take the fifth do you think
[381]
they're gonna tell us that what happened
[383]
so far they've been obstructing the
[385]
Judiciary Committee has for a year been
[388]
trying to question people high-ranking
[391]
officials of the FBI and the FBI has
[394]
been refusing that is obstruction of
[397]
Congress it is a classic trope
[400]
for people to claim that the FBI cannot
[405]
talk about a pending investigation that
[408]
is true except for Congress which has a
[411]
constitutional duty and a right under a
[414]
lawful subpoena to obtain this
[416]
information and testimony it's
[418]
obstruction of Congress to fail to
[421]
comply and the president is right to
[423]
demand as chief executive of the
[426]
executive branch DOJ and the FBI comply
[430]
with the law all right and and tom
[432]
Fitton you know i've given you a lot of
[434]
credit in the past you have done things
[435]
that Congress hasn't been able to do I
[437]
mean it's your determination and your
[440]
perseverance in trying to get records
[442]
under FOIA that has gotten things that
[444]
Congress hasn't even been able to get so
[447]
you know right now we've got the FBI and
[450]
the Department of Justice's Greg says
[452]
whose Stonewall they're stonewalling
[454]
slow-walking and saying they don't have
[457]
records when in fact they do have
[459]
records and they have been lying what
[461]
does the president do at this point
[463]
he is the chief executive the FBI and
[466]
Justice Department are under him what
[468]
should he do to get this information out
[470]
you should order a mandatory
[472]
declassification review of the documents
[475]
within a reasonable amount of time and
[477]
have his lawyers in the White House
[480]
counsel's office or some outside experts
[483]
that he trusts review these records on
[486]
with help Oddie with holdings they
[488]
actually want to follow up on to make
[491]
sure nothing's being withheld improperly
[492]
you know we've got these FOIA cases out
[495]
there now I mean we're waiting on the
[496]
text messages there's a process now in
[498]
court for these various text messages he
[500]
could award of the Justice Department
[501]
and the FBI start complying with the
[504]
transparency law these agencies don't
[507]
think they answer to the president and
[508]
they don't think the answer to Congress
[509]
and I think what they're doing here
[511]
judge is they're protecting the Moller
[513]
operation which has its origins in all
[516]
of us spying and FISA warrants National
[519]
Security Letters where they're taking up
[521]
the phone records of the campaign on
[523]
maskings
[524]
and the use of the Clinton DNC dossier
[526]
that's all part of mullahs operation now
[528]
and that's why they're resisting
[530]
Congress because they know if that gets
[531]
uncovered so molds operate
[534]
you know a town I have been very
[536]
critical of the fact that the
[538]
Republicans are not doing anything I
[540]
mean I'm not being critical of those in
[542]
Congress who are doing as much as they
[544]
can but it is time to get this thing
[547]
rolling it is time for consequences
[549]
accountability that's why Donald Trump
[551]
is president and so you know I'll go to
[553]
you Charlie I mean what do you say to
[556]
those people who say oh these are just
[558]
more hearings to make the Democrats look
[560]
bad or to force these people to testify
[562]
to things they don't want to testify to
[563]
and that are protected national security
[566]
issues they're stalling is what they're
[568]
doing they're all stalling and you know
[570]
you look back at all the egregious
[571]
things I would say call them crimes that
[573]
were committed during the campaign and
[575]
and after the campaign why did they do
[578]
it the reason they did it was such
[580]
abandoned was because they thought that
[582]
the Hillary Clinton was gonna win the
[584]
election and none of this would ever
[585]
come to light matter we and of course
[587]
what do we do now and and they're doing
[590]
the same thing now and they think that
[592]
they're going to win control in November
[594]
and the Democrats will and they can then
[596]
go and cover all of us I think that tom
[598]
Fitton is exactly right what they the
[600]
president should begin declassifying
[602]
everything they should blow everything
[603]
out into into and have an absolute
[607]
showdown because that you don't you
[609]
these people do work for the executive
[612]
branch they are answerable to the
[614]
legislative branch okay and and and Greg
[617]
the final question to you the
[619]
significance of struck not testifying is
[622]
he cooperating unknown if I were him I'd
[626]
cooperate first of all it's always
[628]
important to tell the truth and second
[631]
of all he can cut himself a deal because
[633]
he's in serious legal jeopardy yeah but
[635]
you know this is a classic cover-up it's
[637]
taking place in Washington they always
[640]
claim the mantle of classified
[642]
information and then when it's later
[644]
unredacted we find out it was a lie and
[647]
you know what the problem is Greg and I
[649]
have to end here we have an absent
[652]
Attorney General and that is a loss to
[654]
the American people and the president
[656]
anyway thank you gentlemen
