[0]
did any of the following happen to you
[3]
in 2020
[6]
did you have a baby or even multiple
[9]
babies
[10]
adopt a kid how about graduating college
[13]
and getting a job
[15]
or what about getting laid off or just
[18]
making less money
[20]
maybe you got married
[22]
or the opposite
[24]
you got a divorce
[26]
and lastly
[28]
to get to the main reason of this video
[31]
did you not just get your stimulus
[34]
payment
[35]
in general if one or more of the above
[39]
occurred then you might be entitled to a
[42]
fool or partial stimulus recovery my
[46]
name is Christian and I'm a licensed tax
[47]
professional and CFO of multiple
[50]
multi-million dollar businesses
[52]
let's break it down
[60]
[Music]
[61]
before we begin I'm a big believer in
[64]
Saving Time so I'm gonna do you guys a
[66]
solid if you don't have any kids and you
[70]
make over 98 000 and you're single or
[73]
your head of household and you make over
[75]
136 000 and 501
[79]
or you're married and you make over 198
[83]
000. then go ahead
[86]
stop this video watch something else
[88]
because you will not be able to recover
[91]
any more
[93]
stimulus payments
[95]
now if you just want to watch this video
[97]
for your own information
[99]
continue right on ahead and if you have
[101]
kids continue right on ahead and if you
[104]
made less than those just some amounts I
[105]
just talked about that continue right on
[107]
ahead let's get you some more money let
[110]
me break it down so for category number
[113]
one you either had a child
[117]
multiple children birth
[120]
or adopted
[121]
a kid or multiple kids and this topic is
[124]
a lot easier than the rest and because
[128]
for the economic stimulus it was based
[130]
on your 2018 or 2019 tax return right so
[133]
obviously if you had a kid or adopted a
[135]
kid in 2020 they did not exist in your
[139]
life
[140]
before and they now exist newly in 2020
[144]
you automatically are put in a threshold
[147]
where you could be eligible for stimulus
[149]
payment
[150]
now I'm going to make it very easy for
[153]
you guys
[154]
the threshold is 22
[156]
000 Okay so
[159]
remember the threshold we just talked
[161]
about earlier 98k for single 136k if I
[164]
had a household
[166]
198k for married if you made an
[169]
additional 22k for each child over that
[172]
amount then you are not eligible
[176]
but if you are somewhere in between
[179]
those amounts
[180]
then you are eligible to recover at
[183]
least full or partial stimulus for each
[186]
new additional child all right so the
[191]
maximum you can get for each kid is 1100
[194]
because that's stimulus payment number
[196]
one and two so category number two first
[200]
and foremost I want to congratulate you
[202]
because now you're a college graduate
[205]
and you've probably got a job
[208]
hopefully you don't have too much debt
[211]
and hopefully Biden ends up forgiving at
[214]
least some of your student loan debt if
[216]
you have some
[217]
but recall back in 2020 you are still in
[221]
college and your parents are kind of
[222]
upset because you weren't making any
[225]
money and you couldn't get the stimulus
[227]
and they couldn't even claim you to get
[230]
a stimulus because you were too old over
[233]
17.
[234]
fast forward to 2020 you're a college
[237]
graduate you got a job and made some
[241]
money you are going to file your own tax
[243]
return in 2020 so therefore now
[247]
you qualify to get the full or partial
[251]
stimulus as long as you make under the
[254]
thresholds
[256]
that we talked about earlier in this
[257]
video
[258]
your maximum recovery is eighteen
[261]
hundred
[262]
congrats
[264]
so for category number three these are
[266]
for the groups of people that are
[268]
probably newly unemployed you had
[271]
reduced wages you had less hours but
[274]
overall you just made less money if you
[276]
recall again the stimulus is based off
[279]
of your 2018 or 2019 tax return
[282]
and if you made too much money in those
[286]
years and depending on when it was
[287]
executed you might not have gotten your
[289]
full return or you got a partial
[291]
stimulus payment
[293]
now
[294]
fast forward to 2020
[296]
you are now eligible for the full
[299]
stimulus or partial stimulus because you
[301]
made less money
[303]
we can go ahead and recover that on your
[304]
tax return so go ahead and find someone
[306]
that could do that for you will get you
[308]
your stimulus recovery
[311]
all right so category number four this
[314]
one's a little weird and not a lot of
[316]
people thought about the scenario for
[318]
anyone that got married you might
[321]
be eligible for additional stimulus
[324]
seems kind of weird right but a few of
[327]
my clients did get married and we ran
[329]
into a situation where they are now
[331]
eligible for stimulus
[333]
take the scenario for example
[335]
John made 100K in 2019 doesn't get a
[340]
stimulus because he was single
[341]
Emily made 30k
[344]
in 2019 so she got the full stimulus in
[348]
2020 but they got married in 2020 so now
[352]
their combined income if it's the same
[357]
is a hundred and thirty thousand dollars
[360]
right that actually puts them in the
[363]
category would they be eligible for a
[365]
full stimulus as a married couple
[369]
so then while Emily got the 1800s John
[372]
didn't get his 1800 and when we filed
[375]
the tax returns we can get John's full
[378]
stimulus payment
[380]
now that's a pretty
[382]
easy explanation and some couples might
[385]
be in varying situations where both got
[389]
partial one got full one got partial but
[391]
the way the numbers land in 2020 you can
[395]
still recover some payments we can go
[397]
ahead and do that on your tax return
[398]
make sure to find someone that can do it
[400]
your maximum recovery would be 3 600 if
[404]
both of you didn't get the stimulus in
[407]
2019 and saw reduced wages in 2020 that
[411]
now allows you to be eligible for the
[413]
full stimulus for both of you guys
[416]
so the fifth category is a doozy and it
[419]
involves you getting a divorce
[422]
look first of all it's better off that
[424]
you got a divorce but we're gonna have a
[426]
little bit of minor headaches here
[428]
in this situation
[430]
you either as a couple made too much
[433]
money or got partial payment
[435]
got a divorce right now you're single or
[439]
maybe had a household and you are now
[442]
under the threshold and you're eligible
[444]
to get
[445]
more stimulus recovery all right so that
[449]
would be the scenario in where you would
[452]
be able to probably foreign infrequent
[455]
depending on how the numbers land but at
[458]
least you know that there is a
[460]
scenario where this could work out
[464]
the headache is in
[466]
you're gonna have to work with your
[469]
ex-spouse to determine how to split the
[474]
stimulus that you guys may or men have
[477]
not gotten
[478]
in 2019 or in 2020 because
[483]
there is no rule governing on let's say
[485]
you got a reduced stimulus
[488]
how to split it on your tax return
[492]
let's say you got 1200.
[494]
does she get 600 and you get 600 as you
[498]
report and then you gotta end up getting
[500]
an extra recovery later on that's for
[503]
you guys will have to work that out
[504]
unfortunately I can't do that for you
[507]
you're gonna have to do this one last
[509]
step with them this time
[512]
so for number six
[514]
I know we talked about having a child at
[517]
number one but for this category is now
[521]
you're able to claim like your sister
[523]
brother Mom Dad uncle niece nephew
[526]
basically a relative that allows you to
[528]
claim head of household status so then
[531]
now you might be making the same amount
[533]
of money maybe a hundred thousand as
[536]
single ineligible for the stimulus but
[539]
now your head of household make the same
[541]
money you're claiming you know your
[543]
sister
[544]
puts you above a threshold so now you
[546]
can claim
[548]
additional or a full stimulus in this
[551]
scenario
[553]
[Music]
[554]
and last but not least number seven the
[557]
one you all been waiting for and
[559]
probably most of you guys are eligible
[561]
for are the ones that who just never got
[564]
the stimulus if you didn't get the
[566]
stimulus number one or number two you
[569]
didn't get the debit card you didn't get
[572]
the check
[573]
we didn't get the direct deposit
[576]
file in on your tax return
[579]
we can recover
[581]
your stimulus
[583]
payments that's all we got to do let's
[586]
file it on tax return
[587]
I will say though as an aside an FYI you
[591]
got to be truthful on all of these
[593]
categories right make sure at the very
[596]
least you put the correct amount of
[600]
stimulus that you got
[603]
and repeat it make sure you put the
[606]
correct amount of stimulus that you
[609]
received otherwise there can be delays
[612]
in processing your return delays in your
[615]
refund and nobody wants that and that's
[618]
it I know it's a lot of information to
[621]
digest but I know it's going to go a
[623]
long way in helping everyone in this
[626]
time but a little bit of more money in
[628]
your pocket so that way we can all get
