[13]
Wondering why I'm shopping so much?
[32]
hey folks CA Rachana Ranade here and i welcome聽 you all to another interesting video on聽聽
[37]
cryptocurrencies i'm sure many of you might have聽 seen this chart on how bitcoin has performed聽聽
[42]
in the past few months just after looking at聽 this amazing moment there are so many people聽聽
[47]
who believe that a mera bhi 25 din mein paisa聽 double hoga don't go behind this first learn聽聽
[54]
once you are clear with the concepts then only聽 decide whether you're going to invest or not聽
[60]
a very very very important disclaimer you can聽 see so many comments which try to impersonate聽聽
[66]
me try to impersonate my channel and they will聽 ask you to follow them for some advice some聽聽
[71]
numbers will also be given in these comments聽 and they will ask you to follow them on some聽聽
[76]
telegram channel or Instagram channel or on any聽 other platform please be 100% sure that I don't聽聽
[83]
give advice on any sort of cryptocurrencies聽 on any sort of stocks also for that matter聽聽
[88]
i don't have an advisory please ensure that聽 don't you don't fall for all these fraudsters聽聽
[97]
so let's understand what is the meaning of聽 cryptocurrency in the most simplified manner聽聽
[101]
so cryptocurrency is divided into two parts one is聽 cryptography and one is currency first let's try聽聽
[107]
to understand what is cryptography cryptography is聽 associated with the process of converting ordinary聽聽
[114]
plain text into unintelligible text and vice versa聽 unintelligible means which can't be understood聽聽
[121]
so it is the process of converting plain text聽 into text which can't be easily understood okay聽聽
[126]
it is a method of storing and transmitting聽 data in a particular form so that only those聽聽
[133]
for whom it is intended can read and process it聽 okay see the moment when you read this that it聽聽
[139]
is it is done in a particular way so that only聽 that person to whom it is intended can read and聽聽
[145]
understand it remember the movie Razzi in which聽 Alia Bhatt used to make certain noises like this聽聽
[152]
okay from Pakistan and then in India there聽 is a person who is listening to this voice聽聽
[158]
and then he understands oh聽 she's communicating this to me聽聽
[162]
okay now anyone else on earth if he would have聽 heard that noise he would not have understood that聽聽
[167]
but the sender knows what he means to say and聽 the receiver also knows what he or she needs to聽聽
[173]
understand from it that is actually cryptography聽 okay now let's understand the combined term what聽聽
[179]
is cryptocurrency cryptocurrency in simple聽 words is nothing but digital form of cash聽聽
[184]
okay now let's take this example here we have A聽 let us say any person A and here we have A is in聽聽
[191]
India and there is one more person B who is from聽 USA now if A wants to send dollars to B in USA聽聽
[199]
can that person directly send dollars no聽 he or she will have to first go to a bank聽聽
[204]
okay then bank is a third party who is involved聽 who will actually convert the rupees into dollars聽聽
[210]
and then verify who is the sender okay who is the聽 receiver okay we'll match certain things we'll聽聽
[215]
charge some money and then transfer the funds聽 to B okay so this transaction was possible only聽聽
[220]
with the help of an intermediary which was聽 the bank here now let's try to understand if聽聽
[225]
there was something like a digital form聽 of currency which knows no barriers okay聽聽
[233]
something like that a currency it's nothing but聽 a digital form of cash right so what could have聽聽
[239]
happened that Mr. A could have directly sent聽 funds to B without any third party and that聽聽
[246]
is an example of cryptocurrency so what are the聽 advantages no intermediary required number one聽聽
[252]
number two no geographical barrier number three聽 because there is no intermediary as such charges聽聽
[258]
are also very less who is going to charge what聽 that we are going to cover in the subsequent聽聽
[262]
part of the video but charges are going to be very聽 less and number four it's very fast on an average聽聽
[266]
of course different cryptocurrencies will have聽 different timings but it ranges as low as four聽聽
[271]
seconds to as as high for popular coins like 10聽 minutes okay these are the advantages what are聽聽
[278]
the disadvantages then number one disadvantage is聽 that if if a wrong transfer is made okay then this聽聽
[286]
person A cannot ask for the money back why I'll聽 tell you because let us say the account to whom聽聽
[293]
the money was to be transferred was account聽 number 645 and by mistake the person said 654聽聽
[299]
now he does not know who is 654 that person聽 does not know who is 654 no one knows who is聽聽
[303]
654 so once money is gone it can't you can't聽 get it back if it is a wrong transfer this聽聽
[309]
could have happened if bank was there in between聽 because bank knows who is 654 right that is a聽聽
[314]
disadvantage number one and number two because the聽 senders and the receivers identity is not unveiled聽聽
[321]
unfortunately it is used for a lot of illegal聽 activities through internet which is many times聽聽
[326]
a part of internet which is known as dark web聽 but if you want to know more about this what聽聽
[331]
technology is used behind all these things we are聽 going to cover that in the next part of the video.聽
[338]
Well now let's understand whether cryptocurrency聽 is really legal or illegal there are two different聽聽
[343]
things one cryptocurrency being legal and one聽 cryptocurrency being allowed as a legal tender聽聽
[349]
in India let's tackle both the problems number one聽 is it legal answer is yes why on 6th April 2018聽聽
[357]
RBI imposed a banking ban on Indian banks to have聽 a relationship with crypto companies but the same聽聽
[363]
banking ban was lifted in 2018 by a supreme聽 court decision and because of which the Indian聽聽
[369]
banks were allowed to have business relationships聽 and banking services with an exchange so what's聽聽
[374]
the conclusion trading in cryptocurrencies as聽 on date is absolutely legal then what is the聽聽
[380]
problem problem is that cryptocurrency is still聽 an illegal tender of money means what tomorrow聽聽
[388]
if I want to go to a shop and buy a refrigerator聽 I go to the shop I tell the shopkeeper okay give聽聽
[392]
me this refrigerator and I'll say that okay聽 I'll give you bit some xyz amount of bitcoins聽聽
[397]
in return or xyz or some other cryptocurrency聽 in return is that allowed no it's not a legal聽聽
[402]
tender I will have to pay in INR I'll have to pay聽 Indian rupees but then you will say but illegal聽聽
[409]
no wait you can compare it with something聽 like this even if I go to the same shop聽聽
[414]
I tell that okay pack that fridge for me聽 and I say I don't have rupees right now聽聽
[418]
do one thing I'll give you 10 reliance industry聽 stocks in return is that allowed no because聽聽
[423]
even stocks are not a legal tender I hope聽 you have understood the difference between聽聽
[428]
cryptocurrency being legal and cryptocurrency聽 not being allowed as a legal tender in India聽聽
[437]
now let's try and understand what is a blockchain聽 in simple words blockchain is nothing but聽聽
[441]
comprised of two words and one is block and聽 another one is chain right now what's a block聽聽
[446]
block is nothing but a database which stores a lot聽 of information what kind of information now let's聽聽
[452]
take the original example that A was sending some聽 cryptocurrency to B okay now what will that block聽聽
[458]
store block will store information like who is the聽 sender who is the receiver when was the money sent聽聽
[463]
and so much more information will be stored in聽 that block right now one more transaction takes聽聽
[468]
place let's say X sends another cryptocurrency聽 to Y now again that information will be stored聽聽
[473]
in this block that who sent to whom at what player聽 whatever then M sends to N, A sends to X whatever聽聽
[479]
so much information goes on filling in this block聽 okay now this block is full another block comes聽聽
[485]
into picture okay but when this block starts it聽 will point out to the last transaction actually聽聽
[492]
there are concepts like hash rate or hashing聽 we are not going to go into details of that聽聽
[496]
let's try and understand the essence of what is聽 a blockchain right so the second block basically聽聽
[501]
will just point out to the last transaction there聽 that we are carrying forward we are continuing聽聽
[505]
basically from here right again this block will聽 start filling up with a lot of information correct聽聽
[511]
once this block is filled let's say now the third聽 block starts but third block will also again point聽聽
[516]
out to the last transaction of the second block聽 now all these blocks will be linked will be will聽聽
[523]
be uh you know tied together with the help of a聽 chain and that is why this is called as a block聽聽
[530]
chain now the big question if i were to delete聽 the data from one of the blocks is that possible聽聽
[538]
no why because a third block was pointing out聽 to the end of the second block if that second聽聽
[544]
block goes away it will be clearly understood聽 that something is missing so this cannot happen聽聽
[550]
and that is why it is said聽 that blockchain is immutable.
[556]
now let's try and understand what is bitcoin well聽 bitcoin is nothing but a type of cryptocurrency聽聽
[561]
bitcoin was founded in 2008 and it was launched聽 in 2009 by Mr Satoshi Nakamoto like I am sure no聽聽
[569]
one knows who Binod is similarly no one knows who聽 Mr Satoshi Nakamoto is well what is the advantage聽聽
[574]
I'll tell you I can just compare it something聽 like this that we have promoters for a company聽聽
[579]
similarly the promoter of this bitcoin is like聽 Mr Satoshi Nakamoto now I can imagine that if聽聽
[584]
something happens to the promoter of the company聽 then what will happen to the share prices of that聽聽
[588]
company they want to go down drastically similarly聽 if something happens to Mr Satoshi then what聽聽
[593]
but we don't know whether he's alive or not聽 also so that danger is anyways away right today聽聽
[599]
bitcoin is one of the most popular coins among the聽 cryptocurrency spaces all over the world wondering聽聽
[605]
how a bitcoin looks like that's how it looks聽 like okay i'll just show it to you one minute.
[613]
Oh well it can't be held physically in聽 your hand why it's a digital currency.
[622]
Well I hope you have understood what is bitcoin聽 very nicely now one or two more fun facts about聽聽
[626]
bitcoin what do you think how is the supply of聽 Indian rupee is it limited or unlimited correct聽聽
[633]
answer is it's unlimited whenever government聽 wants it can print more and more Indian rupees聽聽
[638]
what about bitcoins is the supply limited聽 or unlimited the supply is limited there are聽聽
[643]
exactly 21 million bitcoin all over the world聽 okay but out of that in circulation there are聽聽
[651]
18.6 million approximately bitcoins which are in聽 circulation right now now let us move on with how聽聽
[657]
a bitcoin transaction actually takes place right聽 so let us say our old example where A transfers聽聽
[664]
bitcoins to B that's where a new transaction聽 will be entered now what happens this transaction聽聽
[670]
will have to be verified by someone like you聽 remember the bank example if A sends money to B聽聽
[675]
then there'll be a bank in between that bank will聽 verify this transaction but in bitcoins in crypto聽聽
[681]
do we have any intermediary no no intermediaries聽 there then who will verify this transaction聽聽
[686]
now you can imagine there are thousands of people聽 all over the world who are there who are wanting聽聽
[692]
to verify this transaction these people are called聽 as miners okay now what happens is that whenever聽聽
[699]
A person sends bitcoin to B no one will say聽 that in plain English that will be written聽聽
[705]
in some cryptic language okay now you can聽 imagine this is like some mathematical problem聽聽
[710]
which someone can see something like that okay now聽 these miners who are all over the world thousands聽聽
[715]
of people who are all over the world they will聽 try to solve this math problem okay when this now聽聽
[721]
big question how will they solve this using pen聽 and paper no using a normal laptop no all these聽聽
[727]
are very like very high very powerful computers聽 that they'll require super computers very high聽聽
[732]
computing power computers will be required聽 to actually solve these mathematical problems聽聽
[738]
now once they solve this problem what will happen聽 is they will have to come get something in return聽聽
[744]
as a reward that is where we say that they聽 are mining the Bitcoin okay so in simple聽聽
[750]
words someone is verifying the transaction or聽 free of cost okay some reward will have to be聽聽
[755]
given to that person at that reward is in the聽 nature of giving him more bitcoins but these聽聽
[761]
bitcoins are mined no one will聽 transfer bitcoin to them as such right.
[770]
Now the big question should one invest or not聽 wait first you have to understand how volatile聽聽
[776]
bitcoin has been in the past and also in聽 the present just to give you a few stats聽聽
[781]
in December 2017 it had touched the then high聽 around 19,000 for one Bitcoin then it went down聽聽
[789]
and down and down entered into a bear market聽 and it touched a low of almost 4000 dollars per聽聽
[795]
bitcoin in March 2020 and since then like stocks聽 have rallied like anything even bitcoin rallied聽聽
[802]
a long way to believe it or not roughly 42,000聽 per bitcoin currently as I am shooting the video聽聽
[810]
the bitcoin is trading around 36,000 for one聽 bitcoin so I hope by now you might have understood聽聽
[817]
that it is a very volatile cryptocurrency now聽 the big question that are you are you spelling it聽聽
[824]
properly are you saying it properly 36,000 for one聽 Bitcoin how on earth will I be able to invest even聽聽
[830]
for one Bitcoin it is possible wait you you need聽 not buy one Bitcoin can you buy it in fractions聽聽
[836]
yes so for example can you buy 0.1 share of聽 reliance industries no you can't but can you buy聽聽
[843]
0.1 Bitcoin answer is yes so buying in fractions聽 is allowed okay wait but then the big question is聽聽
[851]
that whether I should buy uh Bitcoin or Ethereum聽 or any other cryptocurrency for that matter out of聽聽
[858]
all this which should I choose I think that like聽 I say in stock market don't go for small caps聽聽
[865]
go for large caps which are comparatively known聽 which have a proven track record similarly if聽聽
[870]
I'm talking about cryptocurrencies bitcoin is a聽 cryptocurrency which has the largest market cap聽聽
[876]
and alone bitcoin has more than 65 percent聽 of the total market capitalization of all聽聽
[881]
cryptocurrencies put together but then if you聽 ask me my personal opinion i would want to invest聽聽
[888]
a small amount of money which I always call as聽 a party fund uh that will depend on everyone's聽聽
[894]
risk appetite so for me it can be 5000 rupees聽 for you it can be 10,000 for someone else it聽聽
[898]
could be 500 rupees also so that depends on how聽 much risk you are ready to take that can be a聽聽
[903]
small amount with which you may start your聽 journey in investing in cryptocurrencies
[911]

[991]
now the grand finale question where do you store聽 these cryptocurrencies possibility number one聽聽
[995]
you can store it with the exchange wherein you聽 can also earn some interest on that possibility聽聽
[999]
number two you can store them in hardware wallets聽 they look something like this like a pen drive聽聽
[1003]
but this is password protected there's an amazing聽 fun fact that there is a US programmer who has聽聽
[1008]
actually forgotten his password to his hardware聽 wallet and he has only two attempts left to access聽聽
