so you're looking at getting your real estate聽
license in florida florida actually has one of聽聽

the most straightforward processes in order to get聽
your real estate license let's take a few moments聽聽

and go through step by step the requirements聽
that you need to go through in order to become聽聽

a licensed real estate agent in florida the聽
first step is you need to meet some minimum聽聽

license requirements you have to be at least聽
18 years of age and have a high school diploma聽聽

or ged in order to become licensed in florida聽
there is not a requirement in florida that you be聽聽

a state residence you can live in other states聽
and get your florida real estate license聽聽

the next step is you have to complete a 63聽
hour classroom hour pre-licensing course聽聽

now just because i said classroom hour this does聽
not mean that you have to take a classroom course聽聽

florida has an approved online course that you聽
can take and as you're taking the course while聽聽

you're reading the materials there'll be a timer聽
within the course that will keep track of the time聽聽

that you've spent on the course at the end of聽
each module there will be sample test questions聽聽

that you will answer and once you've answered聽
those correctly you'll move on to the next module聽聽

up for today if you're looking to take a聽
classroom course you'll need to contact聽聽

the individual real estate schools and inquire聽
about their fees and their specific schedule聽聽

now once you have completed the course聽
meaning that you've taken the course聽聽

and you've passed the course final test聽
you're able to then take an independent聽聽

state slash national exam with psi testing so聽
as part of this overall process you have to take聽聽

this independent test you have to submit your聽
appropriate paperwork and pass the licensing exam聽聽

now this appropriate paperwork is your completed聽
application electronic fingerprints and the fee聽聽

when it comes to the course itself i'm excuse me聽
the final exam you have to pass with a 70 percent聽聽

or above and i'll talk about in just a moment聽
what happens if you don't pass with that amount聽聽

when you have submitted in your application聽
and you've passed the test along with your聽聽

electronic fingerprints and the background聽
check your license can then be activated you聽聽

can either do sort by using a dbpr form or聽
the broker that you work with can log into聽聽

their account into their system and they can聽
claim your license they can activate your license聽聽

now the final step once you're up and running with聽
a broker is you have to successfully complete a聽聽

post licensing course for sales associates聽
this would be a 45 hour course and this must聽聽

be completed before your initial sales licensing聽
expires i would encourage you to take this sooner聽聽

rather than later because it's going to be a聽
lot of the same information that was covered聽聽

in the initial 63-hour course and you don't want聽
to have a period of time where you forget it聽聽

because a lot of the information you learn in聽
the course is not about actually selling real聽聽

estate and you may forget some of the terminology聽
the facts and figures that they're looking for on聽聽

the multiple choice test now when i would talked聽
about having to pass that test with a 70 percent聽聽

you're required to do this if you fail that聽
final exam then you're going to have 30 days聽聽

you have to wait 30 days to retest you're聽
only allowed two attempts at the final exam聽聽

if you fail the exam twice you'll be聽
required to re-enroll in the course聽聽

and you'll need to go through the entire 63-hour聽
course again in order to be licensed i'm not the聽聽

they're the governing body for these courses聽聽

so when you're signing up for a course because聽
passing this final exam is so important i would聽聽

over again to give you a general idea of what聽聽
