hey guys today we're going to be looking into  the top leading gaming consoles the battle has  

mainly been between sony microsoft and nintendo  we are going to see who controls the market  

the console market is largely dominated by three  large players sony microsoft and nintendo in 2018  

we had new upgrades for the brands with xbox one  microsoft ps4 sony and switch nintendo during the  

year sony took the lead with the launch of god  of war which was an amazing action game this  

was later followed with the launch of detroit  become human a futuristic game about androids  

and humans taking place in detroit then you also  got spider-man a fantastic game for those addicted  

to marvel comics in 2018 the ps4 was also opened  up for cross play on various gaming platforms  

nintendo switch has been performing  far better than the wii u before it  

it sold an estimated 20 million units overall and  it had several gaming titles on its belt including  

pokemon let's go octopath traveler ultimate kirby  star allies super smash bros super mario party and  

mario tennis aces nintendo also continued support  for its 3ds though it lost popularity with gamers  

microsoft had very few games to launch in the  market in 2018 hence lost a lot to its competitors  

the one notable game to be released was forza  horizon 4 and sea of thieves and state of decay 2.  

however players still continued enjoying some  popular games that play well on the xbox one  

like red dead redemption 2  8th gaming consoles battle  

this battle was fought between the microsoft  xbox one nintendo switch and sony playstation 4.  

all the consoles remarkably are  sold on the same price of 300  

which means none has a competitive advantage  over the other when it comes to price  

for 4k gaming you will need to add extra  to get improved versions of the consoles  

the ps4 pro you add one hundred dollars  

two hundred dollars for the xbox one x and for  vr performance for the ps4 you add an extra  

four hundred dollars when it comes to graphics  the playstation 4 and xbox one are neck to neck  

however some games will perform  better on certain consoles  

the gaming consoles are capable of reaching hdr  and 4k resolution the nintendo switch does not  

perform as well as the rest but it scores points  for its 1080p resolution when connected to a tv  

when it comes to the gaming pads controls  the xbox one uses the updated version  

for the xbox 360 controller and this gives it  a more rounded feel with the trigger buttons  

offering some forceful feedback the ps4  dualshock 4 gamepads is an overhaul of  

the dualshock 3 and the triggers are more  responsive with the analog sticks feeling better  

the gamepad also features useful touchpad in the  middle and built-in speaker the nintendo switch  

gamepad works as both a handheld and home console  the joy-con connect to the system wirelessly  

but are not nearly as responsive as those  of the xbox one or ps4 the nintendo joy cons  

have some great technologies behind them even  featuring an infrared camera and nfc reader  

in this category the nintendo  switch is the better gamepad

once launched the ps4 did better than the  microsoft xbox one and nintendo switch the margin  

is quite large meaning many gamers preferred  the gaming console offerings than competitors  

new gaming consoles yet to be launched  microsoft has put in place plans to  

launch their new gaming console the xbox series  x while sony will debut with its playstation 5.  

microsoft has hinted that the xbox series x will  be more powerful than the ps5 but that is yet to  

be seen once the consoles are released into the  market for many there is a clear battle in the  

making between microsoft and ps5 but others are of  the opinion is already won in favor of microsoft  

due to their expertise and investments in cloud  this is going to be the next frontier for gaming  

another gaming analyst concluded microsoft's true  rivals are actually amazon and google not nintendo  

and sony this is due to investments done by  google and amazon in the area of cloud computing  

for some the change to cloud is a  bit overstated as some game players  

still have a preference for physical  consoles as opposed to the virtual ones  

here is a list of the top selling consoles  of all time if you continue with the table  

downwards you will realize that microsoft xbox  one is at 15th place with an estimated 46.9  

million units sold the original xbox is further  down at position 19 with 24 million units sold  

this shows you that the ps1 2 3 and 4 have  outsold every xbox introduced into the market  

it is also clear that microsoft's best  selling console is the xbox 360. at the moment  

the companies are more interested in developing  hardware than they are moving their gaming online  

to cloud the battle is more tilted towards sony  with its playstations performing quite well based  

on the units sold the company has also stood the  test of time by producing very interesting titles  

microsoft has gone ahead to give its first party  exclusives that will be available to its consoles  

this means you will only  need to purchase titles once  

then you can play them across any of the  three platforms xbox one xbox series x and pc  

this eliminates the need for upgrades  so you can play a sort after title  

from the table sony has a clear lead over  microsoft and nintendo in the global gaming  

market new players like apple are gaining  ground hence increasing the competition  

while microsoft has been quite aggressive  in creating anticipation for its xbox series  

x console sony has remained largely numb  on what to expect for the playstation 5.  

however they still command a clear edge when it  comes to the sort of after titles like spider-man  

and god of war sony was able to get off on a  good start with the ps4 due to its lower cost  

attractive design and the fact that microsoft  chose to rely on connect for their xbox one

made 14 billion google is also close behind  having made 6.6 billion in the period 2018  

however 10 cent from china reaps the most from  video games having grossed a record 19.7 billion  

the main reason is that the company has been  able over the years to acquire various video
