warmer climate warmer people

and honestly more dancing more live music more of the聽food that we love

just more of the things that we love about life we know we can find more of

in聽mexico rather than chicago i know chicago has a聽huge mexican

and a huge dancing culture but it it聽hasn't been enough for us and we're looking for聽聽

something a little safer a little warmer and聽
something that allows us to do the things

that聽make us happier on a daily basis rather than聽on a seasonal basis

so we've arrived to Orizaba聽a small city in the mountains in the state of
[53]
Veracruz which is located along the mexican gulf

my cousins are nice enough to host us聽
here until we figure out our next move

we're taking a slow just settling into life聽
here

going out for walks hikes and making sure we acclimate to the altitude

Orizaba is un pueblo magico, a聽
magical town

and we're really excited to show you around but since we just got here

it's gonna聽have to wait till next week to give you a tour

and show you what the magic is about

we're聽already taking advantage of the things that we couldn't do in chicago

like go out for an聽evening walk in the middle of winter

so here we are at the park this is parque castillo

and聽we're just here hanging out we had a sandwich here

i'm sorry not a sandwich, a torta

a torta! with turkey

and not like your thanksgiving turkey either

it's pretty good that was really聽
good turkey turkey sandwich

but we're also here thinking about聽
the things that we're gonna miss聽聽

from chicago it's only been at this point 24 hours聽since we've left

but we're already thinking about the things that we're gonna miss so

what are you聽gonna miss?

um i'll definitely miss my mom's food

like which is different from the food that you聽find here in Veracruz

so my mom's from Zacatecas

and so my mom's gorditas,

my mom's tamales, my mom's menudo my mom's posole

so the list goes on
yeah the list goes on and on

so i'm sure we'll find some of those聽things here

but food varies by region so much in mexico
[146]
i don't even know what we're gonna find聽sometimes

so I'm gonna miss TJ Maxx!

2020 was a year where I would go distract myself at TJ Maxx聽
[156]
and my family of course
[159]
especially my jeep you know jeep is family my bright orange lovable聽4x4

of course my mom's cooking but we're in Veracruz

my mom's from Veracruz oh my gosh the food is..

once聽we leave Veracruz maybe it'll be different
[177]
so a few years ago i decided to apply for my聽mexican citizenship so that i could
[182]
be a dual聽citizen for both the USA and Mexico
[184]
so if anybody聽is looking to do the same all you need is to have at least one parent
[191]
who was born in mexico and聽you can get your mexican citizenship
[195]
there are other benefits to having this dual聽
citizenship like
[200]
of course you can live in either country but it's also advantageous in
[204]
purchasing real estate you avoid certain travel restrictions
[208]
like having to get a visa or paying聽
tourism fees and things like that
[212]
being able to vote in both countries so to us it's important to聽have both of these
[218]
privileges in both countries
[219]
and this year kevin was able to get his yeah聽finally!

his citizenship also like we said
it took three years

like we said it's hot it's not easy to get like every聽document has to be perfect
