This video by ABN Painting shows preparation work that has been done prior to spray painting
[6]
the interior.
[7]
We mask off anything that is not being painted using a combination of paper plastic and tape.
[15]
When we are masking ceiling fans we usually use blue tape first.
[19]
It will help us with removing the tape, it will come off very easy when we are done,
[25]
and it also will not leave any residual glue.
[29]
We use the same blue tape when masking cabinets.
[31]
Blue tape has very little adhesive and it works great for any delicate surfaces that
[38]
can be damaged by the residual glue of the tape.
[42]
We finished preparation work in the kitchen.
[46]
The paper around the AC vents still have opening in it because we are currently using air conditioning
[54]
but once we finished with preparation work we will turn off the air and we will seal
[58]
those opening completely off.
[63]
This is one of the bathrooms that is ready to be painted.
[66]
We covered floors, bathtub, cabinets, mirrors, lights.
[75]
Me masked all hardware on the doors.
[80]
To mask the metal parts of the doors, all the hinges we stick the tape to the metal
[87]
part and then use blade to cut a straight line.
[91]
When we mask door handles we use combination of tape and plastic.
[98]
One of the options when it comes to door handles is to remove them from the door instead of
[104]
masking and although it takes only a few seconds to remove a door handle sometimes it takes
[109]
quite a bit of time to put it back on so we prefer masking instead of removing.
[117]
When we cover the floors we do it slightly differently depending on the type of surface
[122]
we are covering.
[124]
If it it carpet surface we run a piece of tape along the edges of the baseboards and
[130]
then we tuck the plastic underneath sealing it tightly from each side.
[136]
If it is a tile surface first we run a 12 in paper around the perimeter and then the
[144]
rest of the area we cover with plastic.
[146]
When we are using an airless sprayer the hose from the sprayer will come in contact with
[153]
floor all the time mostly in the corridor area so we are using slightly thicker paper
[158]
to cover that area to avoid any tears in plastic.
[162]
At this point all preparation work has been completed and the house is ready for spray
[167]
painting.
[169]
This is a small bathroom.
[199]
The master bathroom.
[228]
Laundry room.
[247]
Just before spray painting we need to dust off all surfaces that have a tendency to collect
[253]
dust such as panel doors, shelves in the closet, window jams.
[260]
When we set up paint sprayer we use the tarp underneath just in case if there is any paint
[269]
drips or spills they will end up on the tarp and not on the floor.
[275]
We start spray painting all areas that have limited space: closets, bathrooms, laundry
[282]
room using just the gun and when we are done with those we attach extension that will help
[289]
us spray paint larger areas a lot faster.
[297]
When we finished with painting we do clean up and touch ups.
[309]
Now the interior of the house looks fresh and the house is ready to be put up for sale.
