Day in the Life of a Shopee Intern - YouTube

Hi everyone my name is alicia and this video is going to be about

a day in my life as a Shopee intern at Shopee singapore

so i'm working as a marketing intern right now for a summer internship

from may to august and i decided to make a video about it for fun and because i

want to share my experience i'm going to try and give you guys a Shopee office

tour and show you all what i do in a day

basically but do keep in mind that i can't really show everything down to

every detail. There are some things that i can reveal because of company privacy

policies so. I'll try my best to show as much as i

can. So i just finished getting ready and this is my work outfit for today so i'm

just wearing a normal white tank top, a white cardigan, and long

striped pants. For my work makeup i also try to

keep it simple i did my brows a bit of eye shadow, eyeliner, mascara, lip

tint. I do a bit of base makeup but not too

much because i'm gonna wear a mask anyway and no one's gonna see what's

under my mask

So more specifically i'm in the public relations department of the sg marketing

team. So we handle a lot of the external

parties and the media as well. And also the reason why i'm doing this

internship is because my uni, singapore management university, has a 10-week

internship requirement for me to graduate

and i just wanted to gain some experience and i'm not doing anything in

the summer anyways and it's great for my resume as well. So

my working hours officially starts at 9:30 a.m and ends at 7 p.m with a one and

a half hour lunch break in between. But because of COVID 19 and everything

we have staggered working hours and we're split into teams, and my team has

to come in at 10 am instead

Hi guys this is my colleague and my friend Cassandra

And we're on a lunch break and we're gonna find

bubble tea

So usually during lunch time everyone heads out from the office to buy food

I usually go eat with my colleagues from the PR department, but today i'm eating

with Cassandra. We took a shuttle bus here to this place

called Timber and there are tons of food choices

For lunch today i'm having salted egg chicken and we usually bring our food

back and we eat it at the office cafeteria

After getting our food we are going to find some bubble tea

We came back to the Shopee cafeteria and it is huge here

And of course there are always more free drinks at the pantry and i always like

to get juice. And there are also foosball tables so

you can always hang out here and chill out during your break

After lunch i usually still have some time left so i just play with my phone a

bit before i start to get to work again. So my

colleagues from the PR team usually sit beside me or in front of me but i

haven't been filming them because well, i don't want to disturb them while they're

doing their work. So for the rest of my day i just sit on

my desk and keep doing my work and some of the basic things that i do is that i

help my supervisors with their campaigns, i help to draft media pitches and media

lists. Sometimes i submit invoices, create voucher codes..

what else.. do up

I got a little bored working at my desk, so i decided to move to a different

level and this is a collaborative working space

It kind of has cafe vibes and you can basically do your work here

in a more relaxed environment. Now i'm going to share more on how i got into

Shopee. So although my intern started at may i applied all the way back in

november at the Shopee careers website i got in touch with their HR and we

exchanged emails. I sent my resume cover letter and linkedin profile

In total i did three interviews and also a skills test and finally i got

recruited in march.

So it's 7:30 right now and i worked

slightly over time because i had a lot of stuff to finish

and it's time to go home

Guys so i'm home now and it's about eight right now. When i reach home i would be

so tired and drained that i just like lie down on

my sofa and like play with my phone. Today i want to show

you guys what i got from Shopee so this is like an employee care package

that you get on your first day. So let's open it up. So obviously as you

can see we get a tote bag. You get a Shopee shirt.. I haven't worn

this yet. A Shopee gym towel and it has a zipper here.

Hand sanitizer! I love this little logo thing

A mouse pad, which is great because i

don't have a mouse pad.

A pen actually this goes with a notebook but i

didn't bring home the notebook. And you get a Shopee umbrella

and i can see the Shopee branding already but i'm not going to open that

up because i'm lazy. This is the filter that's supposed to go

with the mask. You get another tote bag.

This is the mouse that i got from the

company but it's not mine i have to return it along with the laptop

yeah all that Shopee stuff

I'm actually gonna try on the Shopee shirt

Oh that's really nice i love the pop of color

I'm gonna smell the hand sanitizer

Okay yeah i thought there was like an

orange smell but it just smells like alcohol

So more stuff on shoppi is that i realized shoppie has a really young

workforce. The first day i went to Shopee it's like going to university

because everyone is so young i think everyone's in their 20s early

20s i rarely see anyone that looks or any any older than 30. I

really like the culture and i really like how we have a casual

work environment as well.

Okay anyways enough talking i'm gonna shower because

my face is always so freaking oily by the end of the day and

anyways that is the end of this video i hope you guys enjoyed it and learned
