Free CCNP 350-401 ENCOR Complete Course: Exam Experience - YouTube

Channel: unknown

[0]
now this video has turned out to be a
[2]
lot longer than I expected but I'm going
[4]
to be covering some important stuff with
[6]
regards to the ccmp encore exam big
[20]
announcement and this is probably the
[21]
announcement that most of you want to
[22]
know about I'm now going to be
[25]
publishing a CCMP encore cause full CCMP
[29]
encore course for free on YouTube so
[33]
from next week expect to see encore CCMP
[36]
training for free on YouTube I already
[39]
actually have one video that you
[41]
probably want to go through if you're
[43]
studying for your CCMP and that's this
[45]
EEM video so you probably want to go
[48]
through this video if you're taking your
[50]
CCMP encore exam but i will be adding
[53]
more content from next week full CCMP
[57]
encore cause for free on youtube and i'm
[60]
going to be doing this in collaboration
[62]
with companies such as bosun and
[64]
hopefully others to bring you more value
[67]
so I'll be using bosun software for some
[70]
of the demonstrations and explaining
[71]
topics using their software use the XM
[74]
software to make sure that you're
[75]
prepared for the exam those kind of
[77]
things again bosun do not pay me any
[79]
money I have never received one dollar
[82]
or one cent in compensation from bosun
[85]
software I just like them as a company
[87]
really nice people really nice to deal
[89]
with and they often give me stuff to
[92]
give to you so I rather get vendors to
[94]
give me stuff to give away to yourself
[96]
rather than getting money from those
[98]
vendors if you want to support me then
[100]
consider subscribing to my youtube
[102]
channel consider buying one of my
[104]
courses
[106]
[Music]
[110]
now in this video I'm going to discuss a
[112]
bunch of topics with regards to the
[115]
cisco ccnp encore exam first thing is
[118]
cisco are supporting remote exams on the
[121]
15th of april so last week Wednesday
[124]
they announced that they will support
[127]
online virtual exams in other words you
[130]
can take the exam at home or wherever
[133]
you are in a proctored environment so
[135]
someone is watching you take the exam
[138]
Cisco announced this last week Wednesday
[140]
and I decided to take the CCMP unco exam
[144]
on Friday so two days later after they
[147]
announced this I took my encore exam
[149]
this is something I've been wanting to
[151]
do for a while but I haven't because I'm
[153]
currently in lockdown in South Africa
[155]
can't go art except for emergency
[158]
supplies groceries medical stuff and so
[160]
forth as I'm sure a lot of you are so
[162]
this is fantastic I've been able to take
[164]
the Cisco encore ccmp exam from this
[168]
room where I'm stuck and I'll give you
[171]
my feedback about to that exam so that's
[173]
the first thing I want to discuss and
[174]
then later on I want to give you some
[176]
good news about to the CCMP encore exam
[179]
hopefully this will be fantastic news
[181]
for a lot of you I've been asked many
[183]
many times almost every day David
[186]
where's your encore course okay so let
[189]
me talk about the exam first now if you
[191]
think it's easier than going to a
[194]
Pearson VUE testing center I think
[196]
you're going to be surprised
[197]
the biggest tip that I'll give you is
[199]
make sure that you're ready about 30
[202]
minutes before your scheduled exam time
[205]
what you need to do is you need to
[206]
download some software on your computer
[208]
you need to run a test they are going to
[212]
ask you for photographs like facing
[214]
forwards facing backwards to the left to
[216]
the right you're going to have to submit
[218]
those photographs they want to see what
[220]
just workspace looks like you can't have
[223]
stuff on the desk they are monitoring
[225]
you through a camera so if you think
[228]
you're gonna get away with stuff think
[230]
again the mistake I made is I was
[232]
putting my hand in front of my mouth
[233]
when I was thinking so I was
[235]
concentrating quite heavily on some of
[236]
the questions by putting my hand over my
[238]
mouth like this and someone came on and
[241]
said remove your hand from your mouth
[243]
don't
[243]
put your hand in front of your mouth so
[245]
they watching you to make sure that you
[247]
don't do anything that you shouldn't be
[249]
doing now I did find the interface
[251]
really good it looks a very similar to a
[254]
Pearson VUE testing center interface so
[257]
the look and feel of the questions is
[258]
very similar what I really liked is I
[261]
had an issue right in the beginning when
[263]
I started my exam the fonts were too
[265]
small on my computer the resolution on
[268]
this Mac is very high so the fonts of
[271]
the questions were so small I couldn't
[272]
read them so all I did is send a message
[275]
to the proctor saying I need some help
[276]
and they actually turn on the the audio
[279]
and spoke to me so ask them my question
[281]
they answered my question and within 30
[284]
seconds I had my problem resolved so
[287]
that was fantastic that interaction with
[290]
the Proctor's is great but just remember
[293]
you being watched the whole time if you
[295]
think you're gonna be able to look here
[297]
or there or up or somewhere to see cheat
[301]
answers then to think again they
[302]
watching you now getting back to what
[305]
you should do before you take your exam
[306]
strongly recommend that you download the
[309]
software 30 minutes or so before your
[311]
exam is scheduled you have to submit a
[314]
whole bunch of stuff like your
[315]
photographs you have to make sure that
[317]
the software works you can use the
[319]
camera on your computer but I actually
[321]
use my phone I found that easier so you
[324]
can submit photographs through a web
[327]
interface or you can SMS them
[328]
photographs you basically have to submit
[331]
a bunch of information including
[333]
identification documents so make sure
[335]
that you've got your driver's license or
[337]
your passport or some kind of
[338]
identification before you take your exam
[341]
because you have to submit that now you
[343]
are allowed to have water as an example
[346]
in a clear bottle or clear glass or
[349]
something so you can drink something but
[351]
remember you stuck for your exam period
[354]
so let's talk a bit about the onco exam
[356]
it's two hours in length I had a hundred
[359]
and two questions it sounds like that's
[360]
what everyone's getting same on CCNA
[362]
same on encore 102 questions there were
[366]
no simulations in the encore exam the
[368]
encore exam consisted of single guess
[371]
sorry single answer multiple choice so
[374]
where you have to select two answers
[376]
they don't ask you crazy
[377]
like select all of the best answers they
[380]
will tell you select two answers or
[382]
three answers so again multiple choice
[384]
single answer multiple choice and
[386]
multiple answers as well as drag and
[388]
drops there were no simulations and the
[391]
onco exam similar to the new CCNA and no
[394]
simulations at all when I took my exam
[397]
now that could change later but I had
[399]
102 questions two hours I found that I
[402]
had more than enough time to finish the
[404]
exam so I actually finished with quite a
[406]
bit of time left but your experience may
[409]
vary I'm a very bad example of someone
[412]
to measure against I've taken many many
[415]
many Cisco exams over the years I'm a
[417]
CCIE so to me a multiple-choice exam
[422]
like this is nothing compared to the CCI
[425]
II after I did my CCIE
[427]
lab exam none of these exams really faze
[429]
me my attitude is if you fail that's a
[433]
pain if you fail it costs you money but
[436]
just remember you can take the exam
[437]
again a few days later so I think it's 7
[440]
days later you can take the exam so it's
[442]
not the end of the world if you fail and
[444]
that's my encouragement to all of you
[447]
it's not like a university degree in a
[450]
university environment if you fail you
[452]
may have to redo an entire year we don't
[455]
have to worry about that when doing
[457]
certification exams
[458]
you can literally wait a week or two and
[460]
then do some extra studying and then
[462]
come back and take the exam again there
[465]
is obviously a financial cost and for a
[467]
lot of people that's very high so I
[469]
don't want to belittle the financial
[471]
cost of failing or taking a Cisco exam
[474]
but just remember you don't have to
[476]
spend an entire year redoing the content
[480]
before you take the exam again you can
[482]
hopefully take it again a week or two
[484]
later okay so on Koh exam I found the
[487]
questions both good and bad there was
[490]
some decent questions I thought there
[491]
was some terrible questions the
[493]
difficulty of the questions varied from
[495]
what I thought was extremely easy CCNA
[498]
level type questions to very difficult
[501]
questions make sure that you learn the
[503]
new technologies I don't want to go
[505]
through the entire blueprint of the
[508]
ccmp onco exam but things that I
[510]
remember
[511]
were important are things like SD access
[514]
make sure you know the terminology of SD
[518]
access make sure you know the
[519]
terminology of SD when make sure that
[522]
you understand the difference between
[524]
say VX LAN and Lisp make sure that you
[528]
understand the differences between the
[530]
different protocols used in these new
[532]
technologies such as SD 1 and SD access
[535]
I obviously have a lot of background in
[537]
routing and switching traditional
[539]
technologies as well as Python I found
[541]
the newest stuff more difficult just
[543]
because it was newer so I spent more
[545]
time looking at SD access and some of
[547]
the newer technologies rather than
[549]
traditional routing and switching like
[550]
OSPF but as an example you will get OSPF
[554]
questions make sure that you understand
[556]
the different types in OSPF make sure
[559]
that you know LS A's network types make
[563]
sure that you understand how BGP works
[564]
basically all the standard stuff that
[567]
you would expect in a routing and
[569]
switching exam I got asked now again
[572]
there are newer technologies like
[573]
Network automation do you know JSON do
[576]
you know how to interpret JSON can you
[578]
read a Python script you need to know
[580]
those kind of things for the exam but
[582]
again I could go through the entire
[583]
blueprint and highlight options from
[585]
almost every section because they're 102
[588]
questions they can ask you a broad range
[590]
of topics so it's not like any pass
[593]
where we had simulations and they might
[594]
focus just in on one section there's a
[597]
broad range of topics a whole bunch of
[599]
questions from basically throughout to
[601]
the blueprint to make sure that you
[603]
spend time learning all the topics
[605]
before the exam like I said for the CCNA
[608]
I would concentrate on the newer
[609]
technologies and Network automation
[611]
Network programmability and actually
[613]
I'll just bring up the blueprint chair
[614]
to make it easier so do you know JSON do
[617]
you know Python do you know yang so can
[621]
you describe high-level principles of
[623]
yang
[624]
can you describe api's of DNA Center
[627]
make sure that you understand RISP api
[630]
calls and what i was quite surprised
[632]
about is this EEM applet make sure you
[635]
know that to make sure you know the
[636]
difference between chef puppet ansible
[638]
and salt stack like I said I could
[641]
mention many many topics yeah do you
[644]
know what trusts second
[645]
do you know what Mac SEC is do you know
[647]
the difference between 8201 ex and web
[649]
auth as an example do you understand
[652]
different wireless security mechanisms
[654]
do you understand a CLS can you work out
[657]
a CLS so again I could start from the
[660]
beginning of this outline and just
[662]
highlight topic off the topic like first
[665]
hop redundancy protocols do you
[667]
understand different network designs do
[670]
you understand the difference between
[671]
different wireless deployment models so
[673]
ok I won't bore you going through all
[675]
the blueprint options just looking at
[678]
these blueprint options I can in my mind
[680]
recognize many questions
[682]
I mean virtualization is not traditional
[685]
routing and switching but do you
[687]
understand the difference between a type
[688]
1 hypervisor type 2 hypervisor do you
[691]
understand
[692]
virtual machines virtual switching
[693]
docker those kind of technologies and as
[696]
mentioned do you understand Lisp
[698]
vx LAN do you understand the different
[700]
types of data virtualization
[702]
technologies such as IPSec tunneling GRE
[704]
vr af-s MPLS etc basically because we
[708]
have such a broad range of questions 102
[711]
questions they can all she stuff from
[712]
any section and don't forget Wireless
[714]
I'll mention it here because otherwise
[715]
people think there were no wireless
[717]
questions you need to know wireless as
[719]
well Wireless is really important the
[721]
new stuff Wireless think of SD access SD
[725]
when think of network automation they
[727]
put programmability basically study
[729]
properly for the exam again I had some
[733]
very simple questions surprisingly
[735]
simple questions I thought and some
[737]
difficult questions now your mileage may
[739]
vary as well depending on your
[741]
experience depending on how much you've
[743]
studied moral the story is you need to
[745]
study for the Cisco exams I personally
[747]
preferred the old exams
[749]
I loved the tea chute exam that was part
[753]
of the old ccmp certification I loved
[756]
tea chute because for me was someone
[758]
with a lot of experience I prefer
[760]
troubleshooting a network rather than
[763]
just trying to memorize things I find
[765]
that the new Cisco exams are more about
[767]
memorization which I don't like
[769]
I personally much prefer hands-on I much
[773]
prefer typing show run or show IP route
[776]
or show something and then debug
[779]
or troubleshooting a network issue or
[781]
configuring a network rather than just
[783]
memorizing facts so I think from my
[786]
personal point of view it's a bit
[787]
disappointing in the new certifications
[788]
there's a lot of memorization there's
[790]
not as much hands-on if you like but you
[793]
will need to be able to interpret output
[795]
and that's the one thing you must
[797]
remember in the new Cisco exams you will
[800]
for instance get screenshots and you
[802]
will need to be able to interpret the
[804]
output of those screenshots so it's not
[806]
like it's just a memorization you will
[809]
need to be able to interpret stuff but I
[811]
do feel that there's more memorization
[812]
stuff I think it's just me getting older
[814]
now
[815]
more experienced I prefer the hands-on t
[818]
shoot top exams my favorite exam that's
[820]
my favorite CCMP exam obviously best
[823]
exam I think of all time was my CCIE
[825]
very very tough but fantastic experience
[829]
fantastic to pass that exam so I prefer
[832]
those hands-on exams more than just
[834]
memorization okay but in your case Morel
[838]
the story is study hard use the Cisco CG
[842]
official third guide I would strongly
[845]
recommend that you go through that even
[846]
though it's a bit dry and but boring at
[848]
times concepts are covered in a lot of
[851]
detail in the ocg I do think at times
[854]
they cover too much so don't get bogged
[857]
down with all the nitty-gritty stuff
[859]
notice the key words like a describe
[862]
layer one concepts describe doesn't mean
[866]
troubleshoot here they've got a
[868]
troubleshoot section but you'll notice a
[871]
lot of the key words are described you
[873]
just need to describe something there
[875]
are some configuration options such as
[879]
configuring OSPF environments including
[882]
different types of neighbor
[884]
relationships or different OSPF types
[886]
point-to-point broadcast etc configure
[889]
and verify ebgp relationships that kind
[891]
of stuff but in my experience I find
[894]
that a lot of it was more described make
[896]
sure you understand the concepts you
[898]
don't need to configure SD access as an
[900]
example they don't expect you to
[901]
configure SD access but you need to know
[904]
all the different types of devices used
[907]
in SD acts
[909]
so as an example you need to explain the
[911]
working principles of an SD access
[913]
solution so know the difference between
[915]
control plane and data plane which
[918]
protocol is used for the control plane
[920]
Lisp which protocol is used for the data
[923]
plane V X LAN
[924]
make sure you understand that make sure
[926]
that it that you know the different
[927]
router types different types of devices
[929]
use an SD axis as an example okay so you
[932]
need to study hard for the on Co exam I
[935]
thought it was in a K exam I preferred
[937]
the CCNA to be honest I preferred the
[940]
dev net associate exam but this was okay
[943]
your experience may vary please let me
[946]
know in the comments below how you found
[948]
the on Koh examine whether you agree or
[951]
disagree with me if you've taken it
[953]
already okay so that was my experience
[956]
taking the Cisco online exam it's a big
[960]
advice if you're doing an online exam is
[963]
make sure that you download and check
[965]
your computer before your exam starts so
[968]
at least half an hour before your exam
[970]
starts download the software make sure
[972]
that your computer is compatible I
[974]
actually did that the day before made
[976]
sure that my computer was compatible and
[977]
then I went through the whole process of
[979]
registering and sending photographs and
[981]
I had to do it again so I thought that
[983]
was kind of pointless
[983]
but half an hour before you take your
[985]
exam you'll need to submit these
[987]
photographs so depending on how long it
[989]
takes you make sure that you start your
[992]
exam before the start time basically
[994]
so get things booted on your computer
[996]
and ready now one thing that's strange
[998]
is you might have to wait ten minutes
[1000]
before your exam starts so you can't
[1002]
leave your computer you you submit all
[1004]
the stuff to Pearson VUE and then you've
[1007]
got to basically sit at your laptop for
[1009]
like five to ten minutes waiting for
[1011]
your Proctor to come online so just be
[1013]
aware go and do all the stuff that you
[1015]
need to do go to the bathroom get ready
[1018]
get yourself prepared before you go
[1020]
through this online enrollment thing and
[1022]
submit your photographs because from
[1023]
that point you stuck to taking your exam
[1026]
so it's a two hour exam but you might
[1028]
end up sitting at your desk for much
[1030]
longer than two hours might be two and a
[1033]
half hours because she you've got to
[1035]
submit stuff so 140 minutes rather than
[1038]
120 minutes as an example is what it
[1040]
might take
[1041]
strongly suggest that if this is your
[1043]
first Cisco exam you go to the Pearson
[1045]
VUE website you download the software
[1046]
you go through it and make sure that
[1048]
your computer is compatible and ready
[1051]
hopefully you're looking forward to the
[1052]
new encore course that I'm going to be
[1054]
creating and publishing for free on
[1056]
YouTube I do have a whole bunch of
[1058]
announcements and surprises coming up so
[1062]
make sure that you've subscribed to my
[1063]
youtube channel make sure that you click
[1065]
on the bell to get notifications and if
[1067]
you don't mind like this video if you've
[1069]
enjoyed it I'm David bumble and I want
[1072]
to wish you all the very best
