it's time for show-off Sunday, where everyone has a chance to show off their
[6]
own car, and here's this week's winner, hey Scotty just want to say thanks for
[13]
having me on the show appreciate you give me the opportunity
[16]
to show my 1982 Corvette, I feel it's a special car
[20]
it's the last year of the C3 body style, Chevy was busy work on a new
[24]
body style, totally transformed for 1984, there was Corvette built in
[29]
1983, in 1984 they introduced the C4, so that's why this car is
[37]
special, it's the last of its breed with a few surprises, this is one of 25,407
[45]
and in 1982 for $22,000 you could own one of these, for the first time since
[51]
1965 this Corvette's 350 small block was fitted with the computer
[56]
control twin throttle body crossfire injection and only optional with
[62]
automatic turbo hydra-matic 4-speed only, the car has 200 horsepower 285
[67]
foot pounds of torque, nine to one compression, the car moves it
[72]
was geared for low end ratio and it's got a lot of bottom end torque, okay so here's the
[76]
car, let me show you a couple of things about, it well I guess one of the things
[81]
that you know making 82 what an 82 really is, is the fact that back in 82 we
[88]
had T tops, T tops are kind of cool because it
[93]
gives you the freedom of having a
[99]
convertible without really having a convertible, so you could drive around
[105]
take the tops off and kind of enjoy the weather when it's nice out, let me show
[111]
you the engine here,
[122]
starts right up, all original, it's had one paint job
[140]
which I did about two years ago, otherwise the
[145]
interior of the car is exactly as is on the factory
[155]
I mean the thing I really like about it the simplicity of what they did back in the day,
[159]
I mean if you look at it as pre-historic as you could be, I mean
[164]
you have straps holding in your car t-tops I mean there's not even any
[170]
velcro or buttons that hold it down, so if you drive them back here your T-tops
[175]
slide around, which is you know it's kind of cool,
[179]
you know I mean interior is, every gauge is working, everything was the only thing I
[185]
did was I changed the radio because I like listened to you know music
[191]
everything else is the way it was from the day it came out of the factory
[196]
which is kind of cool,
[199]
cars running on 57,000, I got it in had 53,000, so I put
[209]
some miles on it, ok guys so one of the things I'd like the show about the car is in 1982
[216]
as in all vets, they have these you know these hidden lights which is really
[220]
really cool,
[228]
so this is what you know really makes a Corvette what a Corvette is, all these little futuristic things that make it really cool,
[246]
so one of the cool things that made me want to buy this car when I bought it a
[252]
few years ago was, I knew it was well maintained and well taken care of
[256]
obviously, but what I came to find which is really really cool is that I have the
[263]
original owners manual, I mean original from the factory I mean
[267]
I'm the second owner so this guy really took care of this car it's been
[271]
garage kept car I have the actual 1982 Chevy new car warranty paper that was
[279]
bought from the dealer, from the original owner, kept all the paperwork I have the
[285]
original build sheet, so this car is definitely well-maintained and I do the
[294]
same I keep this car in the garage, it's a weekend car I didn't put too many
[298]
miles on it, but you know just having stuff like this and being able to look
[303]
at the history of this stuff, you know it's really really something else it's
[307]
like a time capsule, yeah I really dig it man I really like the whole idea of the Corvette
[314]
I like the whole idea of the 80s and how everything was just kind of
[318]
put together for its time and era, just a time capsule,
[347]
well that was this week's video and remember to have your car video
[352]
highlighted here on my channel, check this out,
[364]
