- What's up everyone?
[0]
It's Caleb here at Air 101,
[2]
the channel that talks
[3]
about aviation insurance and much more.
[6]
Today, we're going to be answering the question,
[8]
"What is the best coverage
[9]
that you can purchase for your aircraft?"
[11]
(airplane roars) (hip-hop music)
[16]
Whether owned an aircraft for a long time,
[18]
or you're just purchasing one,
[20]
this video is perfect for you.
[22]
Before we can answer that question.
[23]
We need to talk about the three coverages
[25]
that an individual can purchase for their aircraft.
[27]
Number one, being liability only.
[29]
This is sometimes called PL and PD coverage,
[32]
personal liability and property damage.
[35]
This is tied to the aircraft
[37]
and this allows you to follow transport Canada's regulations
[40]
and legally fly the aircraft in Canada.
[43]
This is by far the most basic coverage
[46]
that you can purchase for your aircraft.
[48]
And once again, this is Liability Only
[50]
and does not provide any physical damage coverage
[53]
for the aircraft whatsoever.
[54]
The second coverage that you can purchase
[56]
for your aircraft is All Risk Not In Motion.
[58]
This gives you liability so that you can be legal in Canada
[61]
and also gives you physical damage for the aircraft
[64]
while it's on the ground and the engine is turned off,
[67]
but the moment that an individual turns the engine on
[70]
there's no longer physical damage coverage for the aircraft,
[72]
this coverage is perfect for an individual
[74]
that wants to store their aircraft in a hanger,
[77]
or they want to have it tied down outside.
[79]
It will help protect in the case if there's a hail storm
[82]
or if there's a wind storm.
[84]
And if there was actual loss in this case,
[86]
there would be coverage under the policy wording.
[88]
Once again, this is the second coverage that you can get,
[91]
All Risk Not In Motion.
[93]
So what then is the best coverage
[95]
that you can get for your aircraft?
[96]
Before we answer that let's talk about today's sponsor.
[98]
Today's sponsor is Air1 Insurance.
[101]
They have been doing aviation insurance for over 30 years.
[104]
They have pilots on staff, and if you give them a call,
[107]
they will give you a free,
[108]
no obligation quote for your aircraft.
[111]
They have very competitive rates and high customer service,
[115]
and can help you with all your aviation insurance needs.
[118]
What is the best coverage
[119]
that you can purchase for your aircraft?
[121]
This would be All Risk Flight and Ground coverage.
[124]
This once again gives you liability
[125]
so that you can fly the aircraft,
[127]
but it also gives you a physical damage for the aircraft
[130]
for when it's on the ground or when you're flying it.
[133]
And essentially, if you're following
[135]
all of transport Canada's regulations
[137]
and you purchase this coverage,
[138]
and then you go and crash your aircraft,
[140]
the insurance company would essentially write
[143]
you a check for your aircraft less the deductible.
[145]
And that is why this is the most comprehensive package
[149]
that you can purchase for your aircraft.
[151]
So the three coverages that we talked about today,
[152]
were number one, liability only,
[155]
number two, All Risk Not In Motion
[157]
and number three, All Risk Flight and Ground.
[160]
So what coverage should you purchase?
[162]
It's really up to you what coverage you want to purchase
[165]
and what you're able to afford.
[166]
But for myself, I would personally buy
[168]
All Risk Flight and Ground as it is by far
[171]
the most comprehensive package
[173]
that you can purchase for your aircraft.
