time it's kind of ridiculous that they

haven't fixed it

while in the meantime they'll go to

great lengths to prevent you from

opening a second account

yet they will close your first account

for no reason even though sellers are

the lifeblood

of etsy even more so than buyers because

buyers don't matter if nobody's selling
[27]
anything

and etsy is really just scalping a
[30]
marketplace referral fee

every time they help conduct a
[34]
transaction and essentially
[36]
bring the buyer to the seller or the
[37]
seller to the buyer et cetera so

anyways in this video it's going to be

if you receive an email from etsy

letting you know that your account was

closed i think this happens a lot more

to print on demand sellers so it's

when this has been going on for well

over a year

and it's got to be eating up a ton of

time for their support team

so if this happens to you go ahead and

email etsy at support

etsy.com and integrity etsy.com i

recommend sending

two separate emails um i don't know if i

would c them i'd probably just copy

paste and

create two different emails so that they

don't see that they're cc'd because in

case they do see that they're cc'd

they may assume that the other side's

gonna respond and then that side may

assume that the other side's gonna

respond

and maybe nobody responds so i would

shoot off an email separate

to both of these email addresses let

them know that your account was closed

for no good reason

and that you would like to have it

restored so that you can continue to

sell on etsy

alright here is an example email of what

you may receive

in response thank you for bringing your

concerns about your shop status to our
[175]
attention we are experiencing an
[176]
unusually high volume blah blah blah i'm
[177]
sure they'll blame kovid too

because every business does that while
[180]
they lay off half of their support team

and just stick it to the people that
[184]
are forced to rely on the support team
[186]
and rant sorry

i've taken a look at your account and
[189]
can see that your shop listings are now
[190]
active if you don't see your listings
[191]
they should be searchable in the
[192]
marketplace within the next 20 minutes
[194]
i'm sorry for any inconvenience you may
[195]
have experienced
[196]
if you've started the process of
[198]
creating a shop and it's still in draft
[199]
mode you'll now be able to move forward
[200]
with the creation of your shop if you'd
[202]
like

i'd also like to provide a little more

information about what occurred we have

automated systems in place
[207]
wow automation huh to protect the safety
[210]
and security of the etsy marketplace

so we go ahead and suspend shops for no
[213]
reason right these systems are monitored
[215]
by etsy employees but occasionally shops
[217]
operating within our policies may be
[219]
caught up in them see that's not true
[221]
etsy is running they're not etsy does
[223]
not have a farm
[224]
of employees that sit there watching
[226]
what shop owners do
[228]
step by step by step that is not true at
[230]
all it's probably a small team of
[231]
engineers that wrote an algorithm that
[233]
hasn't been updated in years because
[234]
it's still incorrectly flagging and
[236]
closing shops
[237]
um etsy i mean you know i've seen some
[240]
things i've seen some some blogs started
[242]
by disgruntled x
[243]
etsy employees that kind of reveal a lot
[245]
about the company so
[246]
maybe i'll talk more about that in the
[248]
future maybe not i don't know we are
[249]
always working to improve the accuracy

of these systems and to make sure that

this is a rare occurrence we aren't
[254]
able to share any further details but if

this reoccurs in the future please reach

getting an account closed very early on

after opening your shop

seems to be very common or after your

first order

seems to be very common so that's

probably why you're watching this video

if it happened to you

and you should be able to get your shop

back no problem just by shooting off

that email but there is one other

issue that i've seen and verified myself

that it was occurring

where a shop was not closed but you
[297]
couldn't find the shop in etsy search

even though the shop was open you could
[301]
direct link to it and it would work and
[303]
none of the listings were indexed in
[305]
etsy search
[306]
and that was a very weird thing i think
[307]
i've seen it like one two or three times
[310]
and the only resolution i ever heard
[311]
about was reaching out to etsy support
[313]
to get those reinstated and etsy support
[315]
had to reach out to engineering to get
[317]
it fixed so i don't know why these
[318]
things happen
[319]
it's weird that they happen when etsy's
[320]
got such a massive scale you'd think
[322]
that their code would be sound but
[324]
it doesn't really sound like the case
[325]
anyways just wanted to share that with

you in case it happens
