[3]
we start with the fox news alert and a
[4]
live look at capitol hill where house
[6]
lawmakers passed president biden's 1.2
[9]
trillion dollar infrastructure bill late
[12]
friday the president delaying his
[14]
weekend trip to delaware to give remarks
[16]
later this morning on what he calls a
[18]
once in a generation bill can't wait for
[21]
that but divisions still simmer as far
[24]
left democrats and even more republicans
[27]
voted against it one of those
[29]
republicans joins us now south carolina
[32]
congresswoman and member of the house
[33]
transportation infrastructure committee
[36]
nancy mace congresswoman thank you so
[37]
much for being with us um
[40]
i think i want to ask you two questions
[42]
at the same time if i may what made you
[44]
vote against this bill and are you
[46]
surprised that 13 republicans decide to
[48]
vote for this bill
[51]
well this bill this 1.2 trillion
[53]
infrastructure bill isn't true
[54]
infrastructure like if we're going to do
[56]
infrastructure let's do infrastructure
[58]
less than 10 percent of it 110 billion
[61]
goes to quote surface transportation and
[63]
of that 70 billion is public mass
[65]
transit leaving you only 40 billion or
[67]
three or four percent uh to go to roads
[69]
and bridges traditional things that
[71]
americans you know really desperately
[73]
need in their communities and so
[75]
it was there are 42 new taxes in the
[77]
infrastructure legislation as well and
[79]
these are these are things i can't
[80]
support um and when they had this bill
[82]
come over to the house not a single
[84]
republican on the transportation
[86]
committee was allowed to amend the
[88]
legislation at all so truly for me this
[91]
was really hyper partisan not a
[92]
bipartisan
[93]
bill and the other thing that this that
[95]
this vote did last night was it was a
[97]
layup it lays the groundwork for passing
[100]
buildback better once democrats get the
[103]
congressional budget office score and
[104]
how much is it going to cost um in a few
[106]
weeks around thanksgiving and and this
[108]
is where they're talking quote
[110]
transformational change
[112]
whatever that is right we know it's not
[114]
good for the american people
[115]
congresswoman this bill would not have
[117]
passed without republicans why do you
[120]
think those 13 republicans voted for
[122]
this bill when when as a conference they
[125]
know that the american people want them
[127]
to be a stop on this kind of wasteful
[129]
spending
[131]
well i can't speak for any of them i can
[133]
tell you that it is disappointing to see
[135]
that we basically you know laid the
[137]
groundwork for buildback better to pass
[139]
in a few weeks once they get the cpo
[141]
score because without those votes then
[143]
that wouldn't be happening um in the
[145]
next few weeks plus you know you saw aoc
[148]
in the squad and you know congresswoman
[150]
presley she didn't vote no until the
[152]
democrats got their 218 votes last night
[155]
and so we gave cover to these
[156]
self-availed socialists to continue
[159]
their fight by golly right and it's all
[162]
an act and uh it is disappointing to see
[164]
that that's what happened last night
[167]
very disappointing uh but a lot of so
[169]
this infrastructure bill has now been
[170]
passed it will be signed by joe biden
[172]
but there's still
[173]
uh a larger bill a green new deal bill
[177]
that was three and a half trillion now
[178]
it's 1.75 trillion we'll see how cbo
[181]
scores it well the left has uh
[183]
predictably lost their mind to include
[185]
chasing down the two senators most
[187]
critical to passing it or stopping it
[189]
and that's kirsten cinema or joe manchin
[192]
recently joe manchin was blockaded in
[194]
his car by so-called climate protesters
[197]
over his opposition to the bill here's a
[200]
portion
[201]
of how that played out
[204]
why won't you fight for me don't mention
[207]
is it worth it
[208]
is the money worth it
[210]
is the money that important joe mansion
[213]
is it more important than my life joe
[215]
mansion is it more important than your
[217]
kid's
[218]
[Applause]
[225]
money better than life lives can you
[226]
look me in my eyes as i talk to you do
[229]
you only talk to millionaires
[231]
open the gate
[235]
they're chanting we want to live uh
[237]
congresswoman because their prophet uh
[239]
comrade cortez told them the world's
[240]
going to end in nine years if this stuff
[242]
doesn't pass
[244]
what does joe manchin do does this stop
[246]
in the senate
[248]
well the left has clearly lost their
[249]
mind uh satan it is horrifying to watch
[252]
this joe manchin and kristen cinnamon
[254]
the senate thank god for two democrats
[256]
who are actually standing up on
[258]
principle on uh the issue of the
[260]
buildback better plan and they're saying
[262]
1.75 trillion well that's just a
[264]
starting figure because the programs
[266]
that they're going to create will last a
[268]
lifetime and beyond and will cost
[270]
significantly more than what they're
[272]
telling the american people and i i am
[275]
grateful and i pray senator manchin for
[277]
his comments last week insisting that we
[279]
know how much these programs are truly
[281]
going to cost before they vote on it and
[283]
i think you know the two of them in the
[285]
senate can put a stop to all of this
[287]
nonsense and i believe that they will
[288]
and i hope and i pray that they will for
[290]
the american people
[291]
welcome nancy mace
[293]
13 republicans made their job a lot more
[295]
difficult congresswoman
[297]
and it would be nice if the caucus could
[298]
hold together on stuff like this but
[301]
i know you did your part and we're
[302]
grateful to have you on this morning
[303]
congresswoman nancy mace thank you so
[305]
much thank you
