They serve only as a disguise to make its participants...

part of a scheme of buying and selling illusions and recruitment of new members ...

that will feed this pyramid, also known as Ponzi Scheme (Charles Ponzi)

That basically works as follows ...

A person or company announces miraculous gains with low or no risk.

So people interested in investing money in the business shows up ...

Some people announces that they are earning a lot of money and the news spreads ...

A friend tells another friend, who tells his family, who tells to the neighbor, baker, dog, parrot ... and so on ...

The business is so successful and profitable that more and more people invest their money in the venture ...
