up having a litter

so i brought stripes he is nine years

old

and i actually had his mother first oh

and he was part of her first letter

so where did the name stripe come from

so when he was uh
[146]
when he was very little he did have a um
[149]
a prominent white stripe on the back of
[150]
his neck okay and so that's where he got
[152]
the name stripe

now over time of course it um as he's
[156]
aged it's it's faded away
[158]
uh-huh okay so you had his mother first
[160]
yes and what kind of dog
[162]
was she um kind of it's like a hound mix
[165]
okay obviously that's what he is yeah
[167]
with a little a little bit of pit bull
[169]
now okay

into the mix okay okay so

where does your care credit story begin

where did you first hear about the card

okay so in florida um

through my employer i did have pet
[182]
insurance okay and i

love the vet i was with however there
[186]
was a point when the vet decided to no

longer accept the pet insurance that i
[190]
was carrying

okay and that's when the

secretary at the vet told me about care

credit

okay and what it could be used for and

many options

and so um that's when i first became

to know about care credit okay so it was

just a routine checkup a reason that you

were in the office

yeah definitely because i try to make

sure that not only stripe but all the

animals in the house

get all of their wellness exams and

annual visits

okay so you get the card yes and what

happens next

so um i was able to um

use it for all of the animals of course

but

to my surprise i was actually even able

to use it for myself

okay do tell yes so i i needed

some dental work accomplished and as

everybody knows that
[270]
can be kind of a financial strain yes

so i was able to use the care credit for

my own dental work

okay can we talk about the dental work

we can

let's hear it what happened uh two

crowns at the same time

okay and it was approximately eighteen
[288]
hundred dollars for that
[290]
oh yeah okay so i didn't have that
[292]
laying around or in my pocket and i was
[293]
able

like i said uh care credit was able to

help me awesome so you had the care

credit credit card for the animals yes

and then you go to the dentist and you
[302]
find out you need this procedure and
[304]
then you're like oh you take care credit
[305]
or did you go there
[306]
knowing that they had care credit i was
[308]
aware of the many

uh options that and availability in

different locations you could use it

and primarily it was for my animals but
[317]
um

i knew that i had you know like a little

secret weapon i could pull out when i
[322]
needed it for myself

i love that term the secret weapon

that's what it is yeah absolutely

okay have you used it or do you have

um so currently since you asked that

i did ask that i just made a huge move

from florida to texas

okay for my dream job yes

really excited so during the transition

and waiting for my new employer

insurance to go into effect which also

a dire need to go to the vet for some

some discomfort he was experiencing okay

and because

so how did you know he was uncomfortable

so i noticed um

for a while that he had been favoring um

increased and okay he's letting me know

okay and would they say is wrong with

him

he has a luxated patella which means

that the kneecap will shift

out of its uh normal channel or groove

gotcha

what do they do for that it's uh it's

going to be a surgery it's a

it's a surgical procedure um

we haven't reached that barrier yet okay

because i definitely feel like it is
[423]
a hump that i'm going to have to cross

because i definitely don't want him to
[426]
be

in any kind of discomfort yeah yeah of

course yeah of course

so how are the animals liking texas

you know i think they acclimated better
[436]
than i did but that's one of the things
[439]
is no matter how much i've

uh interrupt my own routine whether it

be moving or the new employment
[445]
um the dogs just give me that um
[448]
that consistency of the loyalty and so

they make me feel
[452]
during even times of high stress right
[454]
they make me feel

um that i could take a deep breath and

it's going to be okay

yeah no that's wonderful and to kind of

piggyback that
