There's purpose in your pain whenever it feels聽
like the devil is attacking when he's testing you聽聽

God's preparation comes packaged as pain聽聽

as pain in other words there is a purpose in聽聽

your pain God might be using the pain that we're聽
enduring to do something in us before he does聽聽

you've dreaded the most is what God might use to聽聽

with it if you focus on the potential benefits聽聽

and the possible purposes of that pain we all聽
go through disappointments setbacks loss pain聽聽

is a part of life it's easy to get discouraged聽
even bitter think why is this happening to me聽聽

the key is what we do in our times of pain pain聽
will change us heartache loss disappointments聽聽

they don't leave us the same if you go through聽
a divorce a legal battle a friend betrays you聽聽

eventually that will pass you'll get聽

can come out bitter or you can come out better聽聽

blaming God or you can come out stronger with聽聽

all of us experience pain my challenge聽
don't just go through it grow through it聽聽

character like Christ but again it's a choice聽聽

when when you're in pain you can be bitter or you聽

to maturity or a stumbling block to immaturity聽
it's not automatic I don't even know who all聽聽

your heroes are but think about who they聽
are most of them I would guess are people聽聽

who went through incredible difficulty and聽
rather than being destroyed by it they were聽聽

improved by it they got tougher skin and聽
a softer heart they got greater vision聽聽

locked into it to make you someone who can be used聽聽

for great purpose if you let it I have a king who聽
loves me my instructor has put me in this crisis聽聽

not to crush me but to teach me and as I trust聽
him he will build me so I can praise even in聽聽

the midst of the pain you see the fact is聽
pain always transforms us either for good聽聽

or bad it'll make us bitter or better as I聽

you know I have studied all my lifetime what makes聽
great leaders and what makes great winners in life聽聽

and the number one quality of those who win in聽
life whether it's in sports or any other area聽聽

the number one quality is resilience it is聽
the ability to bounce back everybody stumbles聽聽

everybody falls everybody has failures聽
everybody has pain and suffering聽聽

but those who actually make it in life get up聽
pick themselves off bounce back and they have聽聽

resilience as the bible says that the though聽
a man falls seven times a righteous man falls聽聽

seven times he rises again everybody falls but聽
the righteous person gets back up again and keeps聽聽

going that's called resilience that bounce back聽
ability we've all heard the saying no pain no gain聽聽

if everything was always easy we聽
wouldn't be prepared for our destiny聽聽

some of the things I face today if I would聽
have faced them 10 years ago they would have聽聽

overwhelmed me I couldn't handle it back then聽
God knows what you need when you need it every聽聽

struggle is making you stronger every difficulty聽
is growing you up every painful time even though聽聽

you don't like it it's developing something in聽
you that can only be developed in the tough times聽聽

don't complain about the pain without the pain聽
we couldn't reach the fullness of our destinies聽聽

there is a purpose for the pain we may not always聽
understand it Joel why did I get sick why did I聽聽

lose my loved one why did my marriage not make聽
it I can't answer that but I can tell you if聽聽

God allowed it he knows how to bring good out of聽
it this is what faith is all about God I don't聽聽

like the pain but I trust you I believe you're聽
in control now I'm not gonna just go through it聽聽

I'm gonna grow through it I'm gonna keep a good聽
attitude I'm gonna count it all joy knowing that聽聽

this pain is leading to my gain do not waste your聽
hurt do not waste your pain let God use it your聽聽

greatest ministry will come out of your deepest聽
pain your greatest ministry will come out of your聽聽

greatest weakness and failing if you'll be honest聽
to God honest to others and honest to yourself聽聽

better qualified to help a struggling veteran than聽聽

somebody who's been a struggling veteran who's聽
better qualified to help someone recover from an聽聽

opioid or prescription drug addiction than聽
somebody who's struggled with an addiction聽聽

could better help someone who has聽聽

special need than the parents of a special needs聽聽

child when I share my strengths that doesn't make聽
us feel close but when I share my my weaknesses聽聽

you go oh it draws us closer Rick has problems聽
and if God uses him then maybe God could use me聽聽

when you share your pain it helps you grow in聽
Christ and when you use your pain to minister聽聽

to others who've gone through the same thing or聽

that's called your ministry just like your deepest聽
ministry will come out of your deepest hurt your聽聽

deepest pain this is real authentic witnessing聽聽

now I want you to listen very carefully聽
every area in your life where you've had pain聽聽

you've never thought about this but it's true聽
every area in your life where you've had pain聽聽

you have a testimony so don't waste it you say I聽
don't have a testimony oh yes you do you ever had聽聽

gone through bankruptcy then you have a financial聽
testimony have you ever had a marriage conflict聽聽

then you have a marriage testimony have you ever聽
had a rebellious child you have a rebellious child聽聽

testimony you ever been in had a heart attack聽
or anything like that then you've got a physical聽聽

testimony don't waste your pain don't waste your聽
hurt there are people all around you who are going聽聽

now through what you've already gone聽
through and they will listen to your story聽聽

did Jesus experience pain of course he did did聽
Jesus experience times when he was lonely yes聽聽

when he was tempted to be discouraged yes聽
when he was simply tempted yes did Jesus聽聽

have people misunderstand him and criticize him聽
yes you know the greatest witness of God's love聽聽

the greatest example the greatest demonstration聽
of God's love was not Jesus's perfect life聽聽

love was not Jesus sermons聽聽

were not the miracles of Jesus聽聽
