You want to buy a perfect laptop?

We've been doing laptop buying guide for 4 years now,and Every year there are changes

And according to the changes,the decisions/requirements of buying a laptop changes too

This year's laptop buying guide is going to be different, I'll be going into the details

And also the basics,and also answering the questions we've been getting for past 1 year

So even if someone asks you about buying a good laptop, you can perfectly guide them

i'll be giving you an example, i have this dell XPS. There are other dell laptops

Which are focused on different segments

One thing that's constant is,if you're buying a laptop make a checklist

Of top 5 things you need in a laptop. And in that checklist make sure to include your budget

If you want for everyday use then ₹30-40K is a good budget. If you do multitasking

Around ₹50-60K is good enough. And if you use high-end apps like gaming the above ₹60K

Dell also launches their laptops accordingly. There's Dell Inspiron at around ₹30K

If you're a working professional,and you perform multitasking, there's XPS for you

And there's Alienware for the gaming laptops

Performance is the most important thing for me in a laptop

There's often confusion in buying an Intel or AMD

There are 4 different families of each processor

The Ryzen3 or i3 is for people who prefer everyday usage

You can watch movies,attend zoom meetings, there's not much of multitasking

Ryzen5 or the intel5 is for people who perform slightly heavier tasks

The Ryzen7 is the performance area, where you game a bit

And edit as well you can use Ryzen7

Ryzen9 is where you can perform heavy editing and you can expect heavy performance

4GB RAM is good enough for everyday use. If you want to multitask

And you edit photos and stuff then 8GB is important

If you're aware that your workload is going to increase with time

Now let's talk about GPU, for performance it's good if it's dedicated

The AMD Ryzen processor have integrated GPU,and so is the iRIS xe

If you want performance, good graphics, gaming

If you look at Alienware of Dell,it has dedicated RTX graphics card

CPU,RAM & Storage are the 3 pillars of a good laptop

In HDD the read write speed is slow,in SSD it is faster

So if you want quick app & software opening SSD is preferable

But if your priority is storage then HDD is good

But these days even laptops come with combined 1TB harddisk and 256GB SSD

In Inspiron there are HDD, and SSD in XPS,and for performance i would recommend A minimum of 512SSD

There were touchscreens earlier as well but nowadays they are mainstream

If you want a more portable laptop, because carrying it around comfortably is important

So you go for a smaller screen,this laptop is 13",very lightweight and i have no problems carrying it for a day

But if you want a laptop for home then bigger screen is always good

Let's make a thumbrule here,if you're spending ₹45K,then it should have FHD

If you edit videos,or you are a graphics designer the display should be colour accurate

If you're an artist, then there's dell Inspiron series where they have touchscreen laptops

Let's talk about battery ,i did not talk about this in our previous video but in 2022 minimum

65W charger is needed. And aim for minimum of 7 hrs of battery life

So when they claim 10-12 hrs,you get 6-7 in reality. It won't matter if you're staying at home

But if you're always outdoors and you don't get a charging point then battery life becomes important

Dell claims this laptop to have 20hrs of battery life. So you'll get upto 13-14 hrs undoubtedly

A USB charging cable would be even better, because you can use power delivery

Chargers as well. And if you're a creator then minimum 3.5MM jack is important

It would be great if it has OLED screen,the speakers should also be loud

There are certain things where you should also pay attention to like service centres

When you buy a laptop,you use it for almost 3-4 years so keep the build quality in mind
