breakdown of the ending of the movie there's a聽
whole bunch of easter eggs obviously they set聽聽

up a bunch of really big things in the future聽
of marvel phase four like you would expect post聽聽

the post-credits scenes in the end of the movie聽聽

but at the very end of the movie thor聽
and jane foster are able to convince gorr聽聽

to wish for his daughter to come back to life this聽
is happening at the center of the universe there's聽聽

a bunch of cosmic concepts that you saw in all聽
the trailers eternity is meant to represent the聽聽
[53]
living embodiment of the universe itself so like聽
there's a version of eternity for every single聽聽
[58]
universe that's why its body is depicted as the聽
star field like you're looking at the universe聽聽
[63]
and when they travel to the space where eternity聽
actually lives where it exists it's meant to be聽聽

this very abstract place because it's an abstract聽
concept because when they're in this place looking聽聽

at eternity they're looking at everything in聽
the universe but they themselves are kind of聽聽

still in the universe so they're kind of looking聽
at themselves like a little tiny point here in聽聽

the center of eternity all the cosmic entities聽
that they feature here at the end of the movie聽聽

are meant to be incredibly powerful being some聽
of them more powerful than others for some of聽聽

them they're different versions in every single聽
universe and for some of them there's only one聽聽

for the entire multiverse like there's only one聽
living tribunal for the entire multiverse even聽聽

though he's depicted here as one of the lesser聽
beings from eternity they want to make eternity聽聽

seem like it's the most powerful being in this聽
universe that usually depends on which writer聽聽

is talking about the characters you don't see the聽
character eternity in a whole lot of stories but聽聽

the entire movie hinges on this big plot point聽
that gorr thinks that you can go to eternity聽聽

and the first person who reaches it like actually聽
gets this abstract place and can speak to it can聽聽

make a wish and it will grant it and that's it聽
they kind of treat it like a one-time use only聽聽

kind of genie first person gets the wish as if no聽
being has ever actually made it to eternity before聽聽

but all the mcu gods know how to find it it's like聽
the secret amongst all the gods but in the comics聽聽

eternity is meant to be nigh omnipotent in each聽
of their own universes they have control over all聽聽

matter time and space so theoretically they could聽
grant any kind of wish or anything that you ask聽聽

of it but they're not like a one-time use only聽
kind of genie and they usually don't care about聽聽

the day-to-day of lesser beings so like even if聽
you were gorr and you were able to reach eternity聽聽

it would probably just not listen to you like it聽
probably wouldn't care what you had to say to it聽聽

and even in the comics as powerful as gorr gets聽
and he gets way more powerful than he is in the聽聽

movie it still didn't seem like in the gorr comics聽
he was able to kill cosmic entities like that like聽聽

he really just wanted to go after the gods so in聽
the movie eternity was kind of like a proxy for聽聽

the god bomb plot which was the end of the gorr聽
comic storyline and that was sort of like gorge聽聽

thanos level infinity gauntlet plan like okay聽
instead of going around balancing all pantheons聽聽

one at a time in the slow way i'm gonna kill聽
every single god with a bomb all at the same聽聽

time so in the movie gorr initially was going聽
to use his wish to wish that there were no gods聽聽

and yes eternity would be powerful enough to do聽
something like that to like snap its fingers and聽聽

make all gods go away as if they never existed聽
but they convinced gorr to wish for his daughter聽聽

to come back to life and in the movie she's played聽
by chris hemsworth's real life daughter that's why聽聽

she speaks with an australian accent and christian聽
bale's gorr speaks with a welsh accent the reason聽聽

why she has the powers of a god seemingly why she聽
seems so strong is because when she comes back to聽聽
[215]
life the way they explain in the movie at least is聽
that it's a side effect of her being recreated by聽聽
[220]
eternity itself that's why she's able to wield聽
stormbreaker without it melting her brain聽聽

thor agrees to raise and protect her as gorr lays聽
dying along with jane foster and even though she's聽聽
[231]
a god thor treats her like his daughter like聽
she doesn't really need anyone to protect her聽聽

if she's that powerful korg has a line at the end聽
of the movie where he calls them love and thunder聽聽
[240]
like they're known as love and thunder because聽
her name is supposed to be love at the very end聽聽

of the movie they explained that they just go on聽
adventures around the universe helping out lesser聽聽

races of beings doing the same thing that you saw聽
thor doing with the guardians of the galaxy at the聽聽

beginning of the movie just answering distressed聽
calls randomly all over the universe not just in聽聽

the nine realms and because jane foster has died聽
thor starts wielding mule near again the reforged聽聽

mjolnir and she wields stormbreaker korg winds up聽
getting married to another member of his race and聽聽

they pay off this big joke about how cronin's聽
reproducing volcanoes over the period of like聽聽

a month implying that he's going to have a new聽
child there are a lot of children in this movie聽聽

in fact a big part of the plot revolves around a聽
giant group of children including heindall's son聽聽

astrid who turns out heimdall had a son i don't聽
think they've referenced that in previous movies聽聽

or even him having a wife his son astrid basically聽
has the same powers as heimdall a bunch of the聽聽

asgardian children are captured by gorr and he聽
uses them to force thor to use the bifrost to open聽聽

the portal to eternity one of the children is also聽
meant to be a lycan which i think is meant to help聽聽
[302]
set up the big halloween special with werewolf by聽
night like we're gonna start seeing werewolves and聽聽
[306]
vampires in the mcu because the new blade movie聽
and werewolf by night when they rescue all the聽聽
[311]
children and bring them back like there's a new聽
monument to jane foster's version of thor who聽聽

they just call mighty thor that's the name of the聽
comic book where she debuted mighty thor valkyrie聽聽

forces all the asgardian children to go through聽
fight training every day there's a scene with sif聽聽

who now only has one arm because gorr cut one of聽
them off with the necro sword training heimdall's聽聽

son astrid who now has basically gained the powers聽
of heimdall basically can do the same thing that聽聽

heimdall does heimdall's big power is basically聽
being able to see the entire universe but he has聽聽

to focus on it so like he doesn't see everything聽
all simultaneously you have to tell him you're聽聽

looking for something and he can see it across the聽
universe that's how he was able to contact thor聽聽

earlier in the movie he was able to use his power聽
to do that there's a couple other minor easter聽聽

eggs and references during this last little bit of聽
the movie that i'll cover in my full breakdown of聽聽

the entire film but the first big post credits聽
scene is of russell crowe zeus having survived聽聽

thor running him through with his own lightning聽
bolt through the chest he also revealed that his聽聽

lightning bolt weapon is called thunder this is聽
still taking place at omnipotent city he basically聽聽

says that it's a special protected place that聽
the gods can hide out so that's why they're not聽聽

worried about gorr the god butcher killing all the聽
gods like oh we'll be safe here in omnipotent city聽聽

valkyrie doesn't seem like she gave thunder聽
back to the greek gods after the ending like聽聽

they still have the thunder weapon in new asgard聽
they still have his lightning bolt basically there聽聽

are a couple of jokes during the movie that thor聽
tells about how he modeled a lot of himself after聽聽

zeus because he's the god of lightning and thor's聽
the god of thunder bazoo says that because mortals聽聽

no longer worship the gods in the same way they're聽
not afraid of them they don't seem like they care聽聽

about them at all like they used to in ancient聽
times and instead people pray to superheroes which聽聽

is mostly an avengers reference like regular聽
people worship superheroes like the avengers聽聽

especially since they saved half the universe so聽
he vows that he and the other gods not just the聽聽

greek gods but all gods are going to cause people聽
to fear the gods again starting off with them聽聽

killing thor by ordering his son hercules from聽
the comics played by brett goldstein obviously聽聽

probably seen hercules in some of the more recent聽
comics telling him to go kill thor like he says聽聽

make thor odinson fall from the sky and the people聽
will believe in us again but the idea is that the聽聽

gods plan on killing all the other big superheroes聽
like the new avengers that will form eventually聽聽

like an avengers endgame situation versus the聽
gods thor and hercules are both very similar聽聽

characters very similar personalities they spent聽
a lot of time adventuring together so thor would聽聽

know hercules in the comics hercules has also been聽
part of several avengers teams across the years聽聽

he's had some big arcs like during kang war which聽
happened pretty recently and a really huge arc聽聽

even more recently called the chaos war where he聽
became the god of gods that's basically like a聽聽

title you give to someone who is like the most聽
powerful god thor's also kind of done versions聽聽

of that too like rune king thor would be like the聽
god of gods when he is rune king thor but the way聽聽

they play the hercules scene it seems like it's聽
more of a teaser trying to set up the gods versus聽聽

the new avengers like earlier in the movie thor聽
says all the guys are going to hate them because聽聽

of what they did in omnipotent city not just聽
the greek gods but all gods and that seems聽聽

like a totally different story arc that they're聽
trying to set up from the incursions in the secret聽聽

wars multiverse arc so they can pay off the gods聽
versus the avengers in a totally separate movie聽聽

the real big infinity saga level arc that it seems聽
like we're in right now is the secret wars arc so聽聽

that feels like where all the attention is and all聽
this god tier avengers end game situation stuff聽聽

seems like a completely separate thing the second聽
post-credits scene is jane foster who's died聽聽

entering valhalla which is an alternate dimension聽
where the consciousness of all asgardians go聽聽

depending on their actions during life like they聽
have a couple jokes about how you actually make聽聽

it into valhalla but like valhalla is meant to聽
be the asgardian's version of heaven it's part聽聽

of the nine realms the reason why jane foster goes聽
to valhalla is because of her time as mighty thor聽聽

heimdall is there to welcome her the gates he's聽
guarding them just like he guarded the bifrost in聽聽
[535]
life so the idea is that thor can still now speak聽
to jane foster across dimensions under special聽聽
[541]
circumstances like her living essence is still聽
alive theoretically in this alternate dimension聽聽
[546]
it's just that she's in a different state of聽
existence and it requires really special means聽聽
[549]
for him to communicate with her the movies really聽
play it fast and loose with the rules about how聽聽
[554]
that happens and like how you actually make it聽
back from different dimensions like that moonite聽聽
[558]
is a really good example that like he traveled聽
to the dubois because he died and his spirit came聽聽
[562]
back to the world of the living like he literally聽
traveled back to the main mcu dimension but he聽聽

was only able to do that with a little bit of help聽
from the god that ruled over that dimension osiris聽聽

they could also use that as part of this plot with聽
the god tier version of avengers end game was zeus聽聽

and the other gods going after the avengers and聽
all the other mortals if you have any other big聽聽
