#4) The Peter Principle (The ABC's of Bible Prophecy Series) - YouTube
Channel: All Prophecy Fulfilled
[14]
hello once again and welcome back to allprophecyfulfilled.com on the
[20]
worldwide web and on Facebook and
YouTube all prophecy fulfilled okay we
[25]
are going through our series called the
ABCs of Bible prophecy I realize I like
[31]
to say this from time to time that those
of you who are already proponents or
[35]
believers of fulfilled eschatology or
full predators however you want to put
[40]
it I realize that this really is
probably nothing new to you so I would
[45]
ask that you know what pass it on to
those who might benefit from it or they
[50]
might learn something from it and if
this is new stuff to you I hope this is
[54]
making sense questions comments they're
all welcomes into my way and I'll get
[58]
back to you so let's let's press on here
and I'm gonna try to make this under 9
[64]
minutes I keep promising that I'm doing
my best so here we go the last video we
[69]
covered what I called the Paul principle
now that is we recognize that Paul
[77]
taught and hope for nothing but what was
spoken up through the Old Testament law
[82]
and the prophets so to put it simply
Paul's teaching was was set on the old
[88]
promised the Old Covenant Israel
promises and those promises were being
[93]
fulfilled in his day so there's no no
promises no different promises so maybe
[99]
the best way to put it is that the the
full consummation of the new covenant in
[105]
Christ was tantamount to or maybe equal
to fulfillment of the Old Covenant
[110]
promises to Israel makes sense
I hope okay now if that wasn't you know
[116]
cool and powerful enough I don't look at
some things that Peter said and why
[123]
don't we call this the Peter Principle
I know not very original but it's all I
[128]
got okay so we're looking first peter
chapter
[131]
one and I tell you what when I was first
studying these things out I heard this
[137]
scripture spoken up and cited a lot in
it really I
[141]
if the full impact didn't really hit me
until I really understand what Peter was
[146]
saying about what the Old Testament
prophets knew and understood so this is
[154]
this is exciting stuff so in first Peter
chapter 1 verse 5 Peter is explaining or
[161]
encouraging the Jews of the dispersion
and he's saying that they were being
[166]
kept by the power of God through faith
for a salvation that was ready to be
[173]
revealed in the last time so in other
words that salvation had not come yet
[180]
but it was it was ready to be revealed
it was on the cusp verse 6 and 7 he
[188]
references the trials they were
experiencing their faith was being
[192]
tested but through this test scene they
not you not me not us they might be
[200]
found to praise honor and glory win at
the revelation of Jesus Christ
[206]
he saved the salvation that was ready to
be revealed in their day would occur at
[213]
the revelation of Jesus Christ
it was impending verse 9 Peter tells
[220]
them to carry on persevere that they
might receive the end of their faith the
[226]
salvation of their souls so we see a
little pattern forming here again the
[231]
salvation of their souls was something
yet to be received
[236]
it was the end or the outcome of their
faith okay now catch this I'm just gonna
[240]
read this directly from my Bible so this
is first Peter chapter 1 verse 10
[245]
through 12 of this salvation the
prophets have inquired in search
[250]
carefully who prophesied of the grace
that would come to you searching what or
[258]
what manner of time the Spirit of Christ
was in them was indicating when he
[264]
testified beforehand the sufferings of
Christ and the glories that would follow
[270]
to them it was revealed that not to
themselves but to us they were
[276]
ministering the things which now have
been reported to you through those who
[282]
have preached the gospel to you who by
the Holy Spirit sent from heaven things
[288]
which angels desire to look into Wow Q
is I mean I I don't even know where to
[296]
begin there's so much there let me just
try to summarize the the essence of what
[304]
Peter's saying here because it's so
incredibly important in its implications
[311]
if we see what the implications are why
because if we see what Peter is actually
[315]
saying here it will serve as a guiding
principle we'll call it the Peter
[321]
Principle of understanding Scripture of
the last days or the end that the Bible
[329]
speaks of so here's what Peter's saying
and if you're willing to receive this
[334]
now hear me out the Old Testament
prophets did not I repeat did not fully
[342]
understand the what or the what time
this the things that the Spirit of
[348]
Christ that was in them was indicated
okay so that pronoun what their teste is
[356]
I don't know if I'm pronouncing that
correct it means who or which or what I
[361]
mean this is important
though he put another way they didn't
[367]
know the exact what the exact nature or
the exact timing of the things that they
[375]
spoke of other than they knew it wasn't
for their time oh they searched for they
[380]
inquired into it you might recall like
Daniel for example you know he had many
[385]
visions and he was troubled by them and
he sought out the meaning right remember
[390]
that but but
he told his audience this grace to come
[395]
this salvation to be revealed in the
last days looked into and prophesied by
[402]
many in the past it had approached Wow
in his day upon his audience right and
[411]
when Peter says you
he doesn't mean you he's not talking to
[414]
me he's talking to those in his day
those of the dispersion specifically so
[420]
the Peter Principle is simply this if
Peter said the Old Testament prophets
[428]
did not know the exact nature and they
didn't know the exact timing other than
[432]
they knew it wasn't for their time the
principle is is this are we willing to
[439]
allow the New Testament writers to
interpret the nature in the timing for
[447]
us well I think last time we covered
that that we need to allow the New
[451]
Testament writers the authority in the
right to - in the right to interpret the
[457]
Old Testament Scriptures and we need to
essentially just take their word for it
[461]
right because if we do and if we will
you just might be somewhat surprised how
[471]
Peter and Paul and the rest of the New
Testament writers apply well all of the
[478]
Old Testament promises and the themes
really these Old Testament themes as
[483]
coming into fruition in their day the
New Covenant with a a new temple being
[492]
built resurrected there was a regather
II there was a resurrection a new
[498]
heavens and new earth boy so much more
could be said but I think I wet your
[504]
appetite a little bit let's just kind of
stop up there you have another principle
[509]
to look at go to your Bibles and read
them yourselves and see if in fact the
[513]
Bible is saying that okay so much more
to come I hope you stick with me hope
[519]
see in a few days all prophecy fulfilled
come and look for me on Facebook all
[525]
prophecy fulfilled we'll see you next
time thanks for watching
