[0]
hello ladies and gentlemen welcome to my channel聽 my name is george kingori i'm your online finance聽聽
[6]
guy who speaks about all things finance how can be聽 able to save i can be able to invest and everybody聽聽
[12]
you can be able to grow your finances and today聽 i'm going to speak about an investment opportunity聽聽
[18]
that you could be able to explore in your local聽 region whether you are abroad or you are locally聽聽
[23]
in your region whether you are available to聽 be able to offer support in that project or聽聽
[28]
you are leaving it to a third party it is one聽 project that you can be able to do with minimal聽聽
[33]
management skill and with a lot of net return at聽 the end of the period so what is this investment聽聽
[40]
that i'm talking about this investment is聽 forest ladies and gentlemen we will always聽聽
[47]
require timber we will always require wood and聽 we can never actually replace it completely聽聽
[55]
from our use no matter how many efforts today to聽 be able to reduce our dependence on wood is done聽聽
[62]
and actually the forested land is growing smaller聽 and smaller and the value of timber is growing聽聽
[70]
bigger and bigger so how can you be able to invest聽 in these properties the first thing that you need聽聽
[76]
to have is land the unfortunate thing that is聽 that you do not do forests on leased land so聽聽
[82]
you need to purchase land but the beauty is you聽 do not need to buy expensive land you just need聽聽
[88]
land that is virgin that you need land that can聽 be able to produce food and you need land that聽聽
[95]
requires minimal effort and management so any聽 land that you buy that is already having a bush聽聽
[102]
is a sign it is not that can be able to sustain聽 a forest so buy land identify cheap pieces of聽聽
[109]
land they don't have me to be close to the road聽 because it is not where you are living you don't聽聽
[114]
have to be close to a major place of interest it聽 just need to be somewhere that the soil is good聽聽
[120]
and the you can be able to either drill a well and聽 get some water for the preliminary stages as you聽聽
[127]
support the plants or the trees as they grow so聽 maybe a hydro-logical report could help however聽聽
[134]
there are so many places that you could be able to聽 dig a well without spending millions and you could聽聽
[139]
be able to enjoy it and again remember this is a聽 tip for forest if you are living in the tropics聽聽
[148]
you should be doing this like yesterday why the聽 tropics because the of the completely many days聽聽
[155]
of sun trees grow much faster and you have a big聽 variety of trees that you could be able to explore聽聽
[162]
for this particular opportunity so you have聽 bought land and you have bought it cheap the聽聽
[168]
other thing you need to identify the trees聽 that are commercially good in your region聽聽
[173]
and you need to identify trees that can be able聽 to grow with minimal input from you in your in聽聽
[180]
that land that you have bought so there are a lot聽 of information from the forestry departments you聽聽
[185]
which you could be able to explore from my own uh聽 research i have identified that in kenya there are聽聽
[193]
several trees that are usually pushed for people聽 to invest in if you want to go the local trees聽聽
[201]
there are several species up to 27 of them that聽 you could be able to explore not just for timber聽聽
[207]
but for medical purposes for fruit and for other聽 great uses for resin and all those other things聽聽
[215]
so forestry has a lot of other components that聽 you could be able to explore and make some money聽聽
[221]
there are also some trees that you could be able聽 to explore and be able to harvest for a systematic聽聽
[226]
period of time without waiting for say 10 years聽 or 15 years but you could be able to harvest them聽聽
[231]
say in two years in five years because the tree as聽 it is in various stages can still be used as it is聽聽
[239]
so there are several trees for several occasions聽 for several places but identify the tree that you聽聽
[245]
want to do if you are unavailable maybe you are聽 working abroad and you are not able to be able to聽聽
[251]
check your forest and verify things buy a tree聽 that is going to grow and be able to mature by聽聽
[257]
the time you are moving back if your intention is聽 to move back or when you are having a holiday and聽聽
[263]
can be able to come harvest sell your trees so聽 time them to be able to take longer if you're聽聽
[268]
designed to be able to get residual income over a聽 period of time but still that have that big chunk聽聽
[275]
of money at a certain period of time then be able聽 to mix trees that are going to give timber are sin聽聽
[281]
after 10 years and still give fruit like聽 mangoes and apples that you can be able to sell聽聽
[287]
over a period of time do your research because i聽 can of the various uh places that we are talking聽聽
[294]
about i cannot tell you use these three but聽 look for the tree that is most commercially聽聽
[299]
viable in your area and can be able to do do well聽 in your area with ma without much a lot of effort聽聽
[307]
then the other thing you need to identify how many聽 trees do you need to plant per acre of land then聽聽
[313]
do the right quantities don't be too greedy and聽 plant a lot of trees together because they will聽聽
[320]
not grow thick and remember if your desire to聽 be able to sell big chunks of lumber or timber聽聽
[328]
then when they are planted too close together聽 they will not thrive so get the right mix聽聽
[332]
it could be as as high as 1 000 trees per acre you聽 could be able to do as high as 2000 trees per acre聽聽
[339]
but for the trees that usually thin out over time聽 and use this timber for sale over a period of time聽聽
[345]
before the 10 years or 15 years when the聽 tree matures or gets to a harvestable size聽聽
[352]
so ensure that you can be able to plant in such a聽 way that it meets your needs if you plant too thin聽聽
[360]
too close they become too thin and too tall if you聽 give a lot of space you might end up wasting space聽聽
[367]
and have thick trees some which might not聽 grow efficiently then you also need to time聽聽
[372]
how you were able to prune so because you need to聽 control how your tree grows because remember trees聽聽
[378]
that grow like this do and have less commercial聽 value than trees that grow straight up for a big聽聽
[385]
period of lime which length is consistent with聽 size and you can be able to get much more better聽聽
[393]
quality of timber so all these things are things聽 that you can be able to research but i am here to聽聽
[398]
talk about the financial side you can be able to聽 get reasonably for let us talk for uh normal trees聽聽
[406]
for lumber after 10 years or 15 years you could聽 be able to sneak in a thousand trees that you聽聽
[411]
could plant there let us just for this example say聽 that 500 trees will actually survive some you will聽聽
[420]
prune off and some will die in the process but聽 only 500 in the acre are going to survive so聽聽
[426]
you have say 10 acres my desire is that you get聽 at least 10 acres for commercial sense so that聽聽
[432]
when you are traveling and doing these things and聽 getting someone to to be able to do the management聽聽
[438]
especially in the beginning of the period it does聽 not make sense to do one cartoon across do 10聽聽
[444]
20 going up because then you'll be able to get聽 the economics of scale going because the person聽聽
[452]
the costs that you incur in the initial will be聽 able to be leveled out quickly when you have much聽聽
[457]
more trees so economies of scale so 10 acres for聽 example minimum 10 acres so you have 500 trees聽聽
[464]
that have survived to maturity after 10 years聽 so 500 then you have 10 acres so 500 times 10聽聽
[472]
you have 5 000 trees so these 5 000 trees in one聽 tree gives you fifty dollars or five thousand聽聽
[480]
kenyan shillings then you would be able to make聽 25 million shillings without actively being there聽聽
[490]
so assume that you bought the land in a far聽 of place i say 200 000 or 2 000 dollars per聽聽
[497]
acre then you effectively would be and if your聽 costs for example are maximum together with the聽聽
[505]
labor and and the tree seedlings and offensing聽 and all these things come to five million聽聽
[510]
then you effectively have made more than聽 four hundred percent profit in ten years聽聽
[517]
if you bring it forward then it would聽 mean around 40 percent per annum when you聽聽
[523]
do it on an annual basis to give you聽 400 percent in 10 years that is magic聽聽
[531]
as the the problem with this project is聽 you might not be able to get your money聽聽
[536]
instantly and it might take 10 years and you might聽 spend a lot of money in the initial stage before聽聽
[542]
you actually see realizable benefits but once聽 you do it you could be able to make your money if聽聽
[549]
you are in your 30s and in your 40s you are in a聽 better position because by the time your children聽聽
[556]
are getting into university when the costs to聽 pay education are much higher you could sell your聽聽
[562]
trees at that point or when your children you're聽 in your 50s and your children are getting into聽聽
[568]
when they are getting married and聽 staying you could be able to give聽聽
[572]
them a jump start by selling your trees and聽 helping them to make deposits on their houses聽聽
[578]
and initial investment you could kick off your聽 children with this investment i hope that you聽聽
[584]
are learning you are growing if you have any聽 more questions please leave them down below聽聽
[589]
i will leave a link from the kenya forestry kfs聽 kenya forestry services about the several trees聽聽
[595]
that could be able to explore if your local聽 region is kenya east africa and the various聽聽
[601]
soils and all this a lot of information that is聽 out there i will leave some links below because聽聽
[605]
it could help you as you grow in your financial聽 journey so that is an ex again before i leave聽聽
[613]
if the investors for the big families the people聽 who have a lot of money in families for over a聽聽
[620]
long period of time in europe in the uk in the聽 us have at least 20 percent of the investments in聽聽
[628]
forestry giving them at least 15 percent return聽 according to some statistics i gathered on family聽聽
[636]
business and the investments portfolio聽 who are you not to invest in these things
[645]
make money think and thank me later remember聽 to leave a comment to subscribe to the channel聽聽
