Bible story "No! No! No!" | Primary Year D Quarter 3 Episode 9 | Gracelink - YouTube
Channel: unknown
[8]
Hello boys and girls, this is Aunt Frenita.
[11]
Today's story is called "No! No! No!"
[21]
The memory verse is from Psalm, 119, verse 11.
[26]
It says,
[27]
"I have hidden your word in my heart,
[29]
that i might not sin against you."
[33]
The message is: When I have God's Word in my heart,
[36]
I can say no, to Satan.
[39]
Have you ever been tempted to do something that
[42]
Mom, or dad have told you not to do?
[45]
To do something you know is wrong?
[49]
Satan tempted Jesus,
[50]
but Jesus said "No!"
[53]
How was He able to be so strong?
[56]
Jesus had just been baptized by John.
[59]
He needed to be alone.
[62]
He wanted to pray, and think about what He was to do on earth.
[66]
So He went into the desert.
[68]
For 40 days He did not eat.
[71]
He prayed all day, everyday.
[75]
After the 40 days, Satan suddenly appeared.
[80]
Satan knew Jesus was hungry, and weak.
[83]
So he said to Jesus:
[85]
"If you are really God's Son,
[88]
turn some of these rocks into bread."
[91]
Satan knew Jesus was God's Son.
[94]
God had just called Jesus his beloved Son at Jesus' baptism
[100]
If Jesus did this miracle,
[102]
He would be showing that He doubted God's Word.
[106]
Furthermore,
[106]
Satan knew that Jesus would never do miracles to help Himself.
[111]
He would only help others.
[114]
Jesus had learned the Scriptures from His mother,
[116]
and at the synagogue His family attended.
[119]
When Satan said,
[121]
"Turn some rocks into bread."
[124]
Jesus thought about the things He had learned.
[127]
"People don't live just by eating," He replied,
[131]
"But by the Words that come from God."
[135]
God had said that Jesus was God's Son, so He did not need to prove it.
[140]
Jesus wanted Satan to know that to obey and trust God,
[145]
was more important than food at the moment.
[149]
Jesus knew He could depend on God to provide food for him at the right time.
[155]
Then Satan led Jesus to the temple in Jerusalem.
[159]
Satan took Jesus to one of the highest places on the temple
[163]
It was probably the place where the priest,
[165]
stood to blow the horn to call the people to worship.
[170]
"If you are God's Son," sneered Satan, "Jump off."
[175]
"The Scriptures say Your Father,
[178]
will send angels to rescue you."
[181]
"They'll catch you and keep you from crashing onto the rocks."
[186]
That was true.
[188]
God had promised that angels would keep His people from crashing onto the rocks.
[193]
But Jesus knew He shouldn't purposely put Himself in danger,
[198]
and He did not want to use the power God gave Him, to save Himself.
[202]
So He knew He wouldn't jump.
[206]
"The Scriptures also say, do not challenge the Lord."
[209]
Jesus replied.
[211]
Satan tried one more thing. He took Jesus to a high mountain.
[216]
There he showed Jesus all the kingdoms of the world.
[221]
"Bow down and worship me."
[224]
He demanded.
[225]
"And all this, can be yours."
[229]
Satan was lying. He couldn't promise the world to Jesus.
[233]
It didn't belong to him.
[235]
The world and everything in it, belongs to God.
[240]
Satan knew if Jesus bowed down to him, he could never save the world.
[245]
Everyone would be lost, forever.
[248]
"Get away from me Satan." Jesus commanded.
[251]
"The Scriptures say, You must worship and serve only God."
[257]
Satan left Jesus then.
[260]
He knew Jesus would never worship anyone but His Father.
[264]
After Satan left,
[266]
angels came to be with Jesus.
[269]
They comforted Him, they gave Him food and water.
[273]
How did Jesus resist Satan's temptations?
[277]
He read the Scriptures, and thought about them.
[280]
He went to the synagogue every week.
[284]
He participated in worship services, and He prayed.
[288]
You can read one of His prayers in John 17
[292]
Worshiping God gave Him strength.
[295]
You too can gain strength, as you worship God.
