The Richard Branson Controversy... My Honest Opinion - YouTube

Channel: James Sinclair

[0]
hey gang James Sinclair here now if I
[2]
said to you UK British entrepreneur
[4]
you'd probably say some Richard Branson
[6]
and in this video I'm going to be
[8]
discussing the which hump against that
[10]
man Richard Branson is the founder of
[11]
the Virgin Group a business that does 20
[14]
billion dollars plus in and your sales
[17]
it's a huge business that ranges from
[19]
cruise ships to Airlines to trains to
[22]
mobile phones and communications and let
[24]
me be absolutely Frank I'm a huge
[26]
massive fan of Sir Richard Branson he
[28]
taught me loads in his book losing my
[30]
virginity which is not about losing
[32]
virginity it's about it's a pun really
[34]
because this is a business is called
[36]
virgin get it why don't you understand
[38]
that joke well this is a fantastic book
[40]
that taught me tons is a little fact for
[42]
you did you know that 35 percent of
[44]
self-made millionaires in the United
[46]
Kingdom are dyslexic
[47]
Sir Richard himself happens to be
[49]
dyslexic what Richard taught me in that
[51]
fantastic book was this but if you're
[54]
not good at something get someone else
[56]
to do it see in the United Kingdom when
[58]
we go for our education system we took
[60]
this one fundamental flaw try try again
[64]
until you succeed if at first you don't
[66]
succeed try try again
[68]
well Richard had a new way of thinking
[69]
he said well if you can't do something
[71]
just employ someone to do it that's
[73]
better than you I mean hello what
[76]
fantastic advice and it was that advice
[79]
that helped me build my 12 million pound
[81]
revenue business that employs 450 people
[83]
with a lot of people that are better
[85]
than me talking about employees it
[87]
really is these people that I'm worried
[89]
about most see the Virgin Group employs
[91]
70,000 people across the globe and a big
[94]
chunk of them work for Virgin Atlantic
[96]
and Virgin Atlantic is the British
[98]
airline that I'm so proud of
[100]
it's got great customer service great
[102]
teams I love the flippin uniforms I love
[105]
that it carries the British flag and I
[107]
love that it gives that much-needed
[109]
competition to air fares to leaders like
[111]
British Airways and with the United
[114]
Kingdom losing Thomas Cook in 2019 if we
[117]
lost virgin then we'd be in a situation
[119]
where we just had one main carrier and I
[122]
just don't want that for our country
[124]
competition drives innovation and
[126]
innovation usually drives better
[128]
customer service for consumers and
[130]
that's what I am so proud of Richard
[132]
Branson for it's always in
[133]
evading his companies he did innovate
[136]
Airlines for the United Kingdom he did
[138]
make British Airways better in my
[140]
opinion because virgin really after
[143]
their game on customer service everyone
[145]
else up their game on customer service
[147]
and they're just brilliant at that
[150]
they've got great uniforms they've got
[152]
great great staff that are so passionate
[154]
about the airline they want to be there
[156]
he's achieved this thing where that
[159]
great entrepreneurs achieve you know
[160]
when you pay someone you get their hands
[162]
but a great culture is when you pay
[164]
someone in there give you your hands but
[166]
then they give you their heart because
[167]
they want to not because they need to
[169]
and that's what I feel a big chunk of
[172]
Virgin employees that I've met over the
[174]
years have they have just that a passion
[177]
and drive energy enthusiasm and effort
[179]
and deliver on the services of their
[182]
customers so back to my main point grab
[185]
yourself a cup of coffee game and let's
[188]
discuss why is there this witch hunt for
[190]
Richard Branson and the Virgin Group
[192]
firstly Richard said to have a net worth
[194]
at 3.5 billion pounds that's a lot of
[197]
money but it's a net worth it doesn't
[199]
mean he's actually got that as cash in
[201]
the bank yes ladies and gents he's a
[203]
typical entrepreneur just like me so
[205]
when he's got cash he invests it and
[207]
when he invests that cash they employ
[208]
more people they grow their business and
[210]
drive the economy most entrepreneurs
[213]
might be worth a lot of money but that's
[214]
because they've invested it into
[216]
businesses to grow their businesses
[217]
because that's what they do it's in
[220]
their DNA so stop saying that he's worth
[222]
3.5 billion pounds and he's got 3.5
[225]
billion pounds worth of cash in the bank
[227]
he's invested it in all sorts of
[229]
companies that employs lots more people
[231]
significant and let's work out how we
[234]
can get this cash to him so that we can
[236]
keep those people employed which is
[237]
going to yep just think about this
[240]
Virgin Atlantic buys all of its engines
[242]
for its aeroplanes from problems was
[243]
another great British company and that
[246]
company rolls or what's employs loads of
[248]
people that make all the airline parts
[250]
so it's verging go and we have less
[252]
competition in the airline industry that
[255]
means people need rolls-royce won't get
[256]
so many hours and then they won't be
[258]
able to feed their family and then the
[259]
people that cut the people's hair that
[261]
work for rolls-royce let alone the
[263]
Virgin employees you know it just goes
[264]
on and on
[265]
just doesn't even worth that bear
[268]
thinking about and then I've also read
[269]
all these other bits and bobs ladies and
[272]
gents about Richard suing the NHS and
[274]
I've done some investigating journalism
[277]
into that myself he has of really sued
[279]
the NHS basically the MHS accused
[282]
verging care his so-called care company
[285]
about not doing some correct procedures
[287]
and he sued them because it wasn't true
[289]
and he won and then he reinvested that
[292]
money back into the MHS it's not quite
[294]
as much as the headline save what
[297]
happened happened so my big view on this
[299]
guy's is done just believe what the
[301]
headlines say when someone successful
[303]
don't knock them down because there have
[306]
got feelings and they have staff and
[308]
those staff also have feelings they're
[310]
worried about their families we should
[312]
be supporting great British companies I
[314]
think Richard Branson is a great British
[316]
entrepreneur yes he lives in a Caribbean
[318]
island I couldn't care less he pays all
[320]
the taxes that he makes in the UK into
[323]
the UK which in turn drives our economy
[326]
forward and pup-pups billions of pounds
[329]
back into the UK companies probably
[331]
employed over a million people whilst
[332]
he's been going as a business and he's a
[336]
brilliant entrepreneur I don't care that
[338]
he lives in a Caribbean island I'm gonna
[340]
say it one more time he's earned it he's
[342]
risked more than most he's probably
[344]
worked harder than most can even fathom
[346]
to do what he's done I salute him and I
[349]
salute all those virgin employees and
[351]
all those virgin employees when you see
[353]
the press slag off your company know
[355]
this I will be flying virgin again and I
[358]
will take to the skies with you and I
[360]
will be investing my hard-earned money
[362]
into merging companies and taking my
[364]
family on a virgin holiday and I can't
[366]
wait for one day to go on the brand new
[368]
virgin cruise business
[370]
what answer Richard and well done those
[372]
virgin employees know this there's
[374]
plenty of people rooting for you come on
[376]
what I just added some stuff here from a
[378]
virgin employee and I thought it's a
[380]
really passionate posties put there it's
[382]
not so much Richard Branson asking for
[384]
money it's the fabulous British airline
[386]
that is Virgin Atlantic who needs some
[389]
temporary help that same British UK
[391]
registered airline that also employs
[393]
more than 10,000 people UK taxpayers
[396]
themselves despite the millions at the
[398]
airline itself pups into HMRC each and
[401]
every single year oh and it's already
[403]
injected a quart for a billion in cash
[405]
into the Virgin Group Richard practices
[407]
per quarter of a billion pounds of his
[408]
own money into the Virgin Group to
[410]
protect jobs for someone who is creative
[412]
50 years worth of comic company's
[414]
majority British created probably
[416]
hundreds of thousands jobs helped create
[417]
a brighter competition and Levy eight in
[419]
one exceptional customer service
[421]
elevated what code the exceptional
[423]
customer service looks like and
[424]
everything he deserves a break and
[426]
deserves quite frankly a little more
[427]
respect and I say here here and I agree
[430]
and what this employee verjus our
[432]
pleased in proper research and show him
[434]
some respect and show the company and
[436]
its staff some compassion I couldn't
[438]
agree more
[439]
Richard Branson's Roth is not the same
[441]
as his bank balance Norris cash ready to
[443]
rid jaw it's with it's the worth of the
[445]
brand the Virgin brand and its assets I
[447]
think when you have a famous well-known
[449]
figurehead involved in the company is
[451]
the easiest most narrow-minded thing of
[453]
attack and what frankly does I haven't
[456]
heard a peep of anyone moaning about the
[459]
six hundred million pounds that easyJet
[461]
have received of taxpayers loans this
[464]
loan is going to be paid back guys with
[466]
interest and I just fed up of all the
[469]
bitchiness that's going that way to all
[472]
those employees
[474]
