all right so here is a percentage in practical  situation that is the profit percent and loss  

percent so profit what do you mean by profit when  selling price is more than cost price there is a  

profit so what do you mean by selling price and  cost price price at which an item is bought is  

known as cost price a price at which an item is  sold is known as its selling price that is sold  

you must remember that so that means um selling  price is more than cost price there is a profit  

all right so let's see the problem here is a  word problem that is a calculate the profit  

or loss percent here is a profit amount that  is given profit amount 10 dollar cost price  

hundred dollar all right so we need to figure  out loss or profit per cent so i will do it  

very easy guys formula yes formula can help us  profit person that is profit amount divided by  

cost price times a hundred percent so here is a  given profit we know that profit is a ten dollar  

cost price a hundred a dollar  times a hundred percent  

hundred percent so we just hundred hundred  crores so that means here is a ten percent  

that is our answer guys that is the part that is  the profit percent all right let's go next one

so here is a loss amount here is a given  

loss amount 20 dollar and cost price 500 so  we need to figure out loss or profit per cent  

so loss amount that is given already right so loss  percent not loss this is not a profit amount that  

is loss per cent so whenever you figure out  loss per loss a percent so here is a formula  

so this is not a profit this is a  loss all right loss amount divided by  

cost price so this is already given loss amount we  know that that is 20 dollar and cost price that is  

500 500 dollar here is a times hundred percent  so zero zero five is a four times twenty so that  

means we have four percent loss so that is our  answer guys very easy let's go difficult one

so a toy shop owner bought a guitar for 40 dollars  spent five dollar on is packing and sold it at a  

profit ten dollar that is profit so what is the  profit percent so we need to figure out profit  

person so here is a profit percent that is a  formula guys remember but here is some problem  

there is a cost price with cost price that is  40 and spend some money that is five dollar on  

his packing that means how much cost price that is  price at which it was purchased purchase 40 dollar  

and overhead that is the spent for  packing that is five dollars so we added  

forty dollar plus five dollar it will be forty  five dollar so profit amount that is a 10 right

profit amount that is 10 so now we know the  cost price and profit so we can figure out  

the profit percent so profit amount that  is 10 and cost price 45 times 100 percent  

so 45 that is 5 is a 9 times 45 5 is at 2 times  10 now is a 2 is a 100 times so it will be 200  

here is a 9 so we just we need to divide 200 so if  i will divide so 9 is a 2 times 9 is a 2 times 18  

now we need to subtract then 2 here and 0 bring  down so it will be 20 again 9 is a 2 times 18  

so we need to subtract again 2 here so 2 is not  going so we will you use here decimal that is the  

point 0 here again 2 2 is a 9 times 18 so  we again subtract so this is our answer guys  

this is 220 sorry 22.2 percent that  is the profit let's go next one

so here is another word problem that is polo  b this is a girl bought a music cd for 25 how  

much is this bought that is 25 and sold it that  is uh sold it to her friend for 30 dollars that  

sound good calculate the calculator profit or loss  percent this is definitely profit because it's a  

i sold a 30 dollar right so i will do  it selling price we know the 30 dollar  

and cost price that is 25 that means here  is a profit amount 5 we need to subtract  

then we can find the profit amount so here is a  formula profit per cent profit amount divided by  

cost price so profit amount that is five dollar  cost price a 25 dollar times a hundred percent so  

what we will do well 25 is a four times hundred  and four is a 5 times 20 that means a 20  

percent profit that is good so pollo b apollo  be profit here is a percentage 20 percent
