💥 Recovering Deleted and Damaged AI (Ilustrator), EPS, PSD, PSB (Photoshop), CDR (CorelDraw) in 2021 - YouTube

Channel: Hetman Software: Data Recovery for Windows

[5]
Hello everybody!
[7]
From this video, you will learn how to safely keep, save, backup or recover lost files created
[12]
in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and CorelDraw.
[15]
Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and CorelDraw are very reliable software but as well as
[21]
other programs they may encounter errors and failures that are not necessarily caused by
[25]
their own internal reasons.
[27]
It often results in loss of the file that the user has been working on.
[31]
So in this video we will give you some advice on how to prevent such losses or recover an
[36]
already lost Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator or CorelDraw file.
[45]
Read detailed articles in our blog: Let’s begin with the leading commercial
[78]
software for editing bitmap images and the most popular product by Adobe – Photoshop.
[84]
When starting your work with Photoshop, remember that you can’t prevent a software error
[88]
or failure, but you can prepare for possible problems.
[92]
You can save a file regularly by using the menu File / Save, or pressing the key shortcut
[97]
CTRL+S. Yet there is a better option - to set up Photoshop
[103]
autosave function.
[105]
In order to enable and set up this function, open Adobe Photoshop and go to this menu:
[110]
Edit / Preferences / File Handling.
[118]
In the window that opens, check the boxes next to “Save in Background” and “Automatically
[124]
Save Recovery Information.”
[126]
and set a period of time.
[128]
The “Save in Background” function lets the program save files automatically without
[132]
distracting you from work.
[136]
If you enable this function, the default autosave time will be 10 minutes.
[140]
However, a lot can be done for 10 minutes, so it’s better to set the minimal time period
[145]
- 5 minutes.
[151]
If you set up the autosave function properly, you start Adobe Photoshop after a software
[155]
failure or freeze, and it suggests you to restore the latest autosaved file or just
[160]
opens an autosaved file in a window next to the one you are trying to open.
[165]
But it doesn’t happen that way quite often.
[171]
In this case, go to the folder in drive C where Photoshop keeps autosave files in the
[176]
PSB format (which is basically the same PSD file supporting large file size, which can
[181]
be opened with Photoshop).
[186]
You can find this folder by following the path: C:\Users\User Name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe
[198]
Photoshop\AutoRecover Go there and you’ll find a PSB file for
[203]
automatic recovery of the last autosaved copy of an Adobe Photoshop file.
[209]
If you select the details view, you can see the time when every autosaved file was created.
[218]
Now let’s talk about Adobe Illustrator.
[227]
Working with vector graphics in Adobe Illustrator is a long and tedious process.
[231]
That is why for cases when quite a lot of time was spent working on an illustration,
[236]
and the final result is not exactly what the designer wanted to have, there is a function
[241]
of returning to the last saved version of a file.
[244]
In order to use it, just go to the menu File / Revert.
[250]
As a result, the picture will be returned to its condition at the time of the last save,
[254]
and all changes made after that will be canceled.
[258]
Similarly to Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator has built-in tools to restore an unsaved illustration
[264]
after a software or computer failure.
[266]
You should set up this function to be able to use it effectively.
[270]
To do it: • Edit / Preferences / File Handling & Clipboard
[277]
• In the Data Recovery section of this menu,
[284]
set the intervals for autosave recovery data (ranging from 30 seconds to 60 minutes)
[294]
• and the folder where to save it.
[296]
By default, this folder is C:\Users\User Name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator Settings\ru_RU\x64\DataRecovery
[310]
• Now if there is a software failure, or if Adobe Illustrator suddenly crashes, the
[314]
program will restore all autosaved data after you start it again.
[320]
The autosave file has an extension .aid and looks like this: AIDBTemp1482247306297777136.aid
[329]
If for some reason the program doesn’t restore an illustration from an autosave data file
[336]
when you start Adobe Illustrator, you open such file manually with Adobe Illustrator.
[340]
In this case, the autosaved illustration will be restored in normal mode.
[349]
When working in CorelDRAW, you can also encounter problems with software failures.
[353]
How can we prevent data loss?
[356]
It’s just for such situations that CorelDRAW has an autosave function.
[361]
To make it more effective, you should set it up, that is, decide on the time interval
[365]
and location where saved copies will be stored.
[370]
These settings are available in the menu Tools - Options - Workspace - Save.
[379]
Of course, the shorter is the time period between autosaves, the less data will be lost
[384]
in case of failure.
[385]
However, all should be in good measure.
[388]
Every instance of saving a document takes some time, and the larger the document, the
[392]
more time it takes to save it.
[394]
The best autosave time is 10 to 15 minutes.
[398]
You should also specify the folder for autosaved files.
[401]
At the set periods of time, automatic copies of your files will be saved into such folder
[406]
with the extension *.cdr.
[409]
If anything happens or the program crashes unexpectedly, you can also go back to the
[413]
last autosaved file.
[415]
Just open the autosaved copy of your file.
[418]
Besides, in this section you can allow saving backups.
[422]
The “Backup on save” option allows saving the latest version of a file before saving
[427]
the actual file.
[429]
Backups also come in handy when recovering documents.
[434]
If the autosave function was not set up at the time of an unexpected crash or software
[440]
failure which resulted in losing an Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator or CorelDraw
[445]
file, such file can be restored with special data recovery software supporting file formats
[451]
such as .psd (for Photoshop); *.ai, *.eps, *.ait, *.svg (for Adobe Illustrator), *.cdr
[460]
(for CorelDRAW).
[462]
There are only a few products that can help you restore these particular file types.
[468]
If your illustrations were lost after a software failure or for other reasons, you can always
[473]
have them back with Hetman Partition Recovery.
[476]
To do it: • run the utility and scan the media where
[479]
illustrations were saved.
[486]
• To recover the illustrations you need, drag them to the recovery list, or right-click
[490]
on them and click Recovery.
[498]
• Specify the location where to save the files and click Recovery.
[509]
• The files have been recovered.
[512]
In the same way, you can also recover autosaved copies of files with extensions like PSB,
[518]
*.aid or *.cdr.
[521]
That is all for now.
