[0]
hey everybody today we're gonna talk a little bit about driving for uber eats
[3]
I've been driving for uber eats for about two and a half years I've got a
[6]
lot of experience so in this video we're gonna cover why driving for uber eats
[10]
might be a good fit for you I'll also give you some of my pro tips I've
[14]
learned over the years I'll teach you how to sign up and also once you signed
[18]
up how to make the most money possible and be very efficient make sure you
[22]
watch to the end of this video to find out how to make an additional bonus when
[26]
you sign up and start driving through Uber Eats so let's get into it
[29]
alright so now we're going to talk about how it actually works how do you make a
[32]
delivery on uber eats so you'll go online on the uber eats app
[36]
and once you're online you'll get pushed a notification that will be a delivery
[40]
you can either accept or decline that we'll talk about that a little bit later
[44]
so accept the delivery by tapping on the icon it should tell you about how long
[49]
it'll take or the distance to the restaurant so once you accept the order
[53]
it'll navigate you directly to the restaurant does that right in the app
[56]
it's very simple once you get to the restaurant find a quick place to park if
[60]
you have to double park outside and put your hazard lights on it should be a
[64]
quick process use your best discretion at that then when you get there you'll
[68]
have an order number to reference walk into the restaurant always bring
[72]
your phone with you very important at every step of the process reference the
[76]
order number with the staff at the restaurant sometimes they'll prefer you
[80]
say the name on the order as well as the order number kind of varies you'll get
[84]
the hang of it give them the order number if the food's ready they'll give
[88]
it to you you're in and out very quick sometimes you have to wait a little bit
[91]
for the food in the app as well it will tell you what the customer has ordered
[95]
so it's important to verify everything they ordered is in the bag when you leave
[99]
can save you a lot of time and headache in case they got something wrong so
[103]
always verify that once you have the food you'll go on the app and confirm on
[107]
the app that you have picked up the delivery then it will navigate you to
[111]
the customer's house apartment office wherever it is that they're at at this
[116]
point it's probably a good idea to send a pre-loaded text to the customer and
[121]
say hey I'm your uber eats driver I'm on the way this is the case if they didn't
[125]
give you any info in the description sometimes they'll leave you details hey
[130]
this is my gate code number this is my office suite number
[133]
this is my apartment number and that's really helpful but it doesn't always
[137]
happen so if the customer hasn't left you information it could be smart to
[141]
fire off a quick text that says hey just wonder do you have a gate code maybe
[145]
what's your apartment number office suite number and also it'd be really
[149]
helpful if you can meet me outside when I arrive things like that can save a lot
[153]
of time and also gives the customer enough time to respond so that's just a
[157]
little tip that can really help save time once you arrive
[160]
if the customer isn't there you're knocking on the door you can call them
[165]
directly through the app or text them really helpful and nine times out of ten
[169]
it's a seamless process they're there waiting for you you give them the food
[172]
and then you confirm that the trip is over right there on the app and you'll
[176]
move on to the next one protip get one of those mounts that hold your phone in
[180]
your eyesight that can always see really convenient helps a lot so how much can
[184]
you really make driving uber eats this is the question I get all the time so there
[188]
are a lot of factors obviously but in general it's all about the time so the
[194]
more trips you do an hour the more money you make an hour so there a lot of
[197]
factors involved there if you have to wait too long at a restaurant that cuts
[200]
into your time if you have a lot of trouble finding the customer when you're
[204]
making a delivery that cuts into your time so the whole name of the game is
[208]
efficiency so every step of the way if you can cut down on your time wasted you
[213]
should be making more money now on a slow day I might drive for seven or
[219]
eight hours and make close to a hundred dollars that would be a slow day on a
[224]
really good day I've made as much as two hundred dollars for that same seven or
[229]
eight hour period it's all about packing in the trips around three or four trips
[233]
an hour is really good benchmark to hit if you're doing two trips an hour and
[238]
you're going long distances the long distance can pay more sometimes but if
[242]
it sends you out to somewhere where there's not a lot of ubereats
[246]
restaurants to choose from then you might have to backtrack quite a bit to
[251]
get back into a high-traffic area the easiest thing you can control is having
[255]
a good attitude because those tips can really add up so if you have a great
[259]
attitude with the customer sending those personal texts hey I'm on the way and
[262]
always try to drive that efficiency saving time wherever
[266]
you can and being efficient so the customers can either tip you in cash
[269]
they can add a tip when they're placing their order through the app or they can
[273]
tip you afterwards and they have a couple of weeks to add a tip afterwards
[278]
so if they don't use the app much they might have forgotten to do it honestly
[280]
and the next time they load the app it'll prompt them hey do you want to
[283]
rate and review your uber delivery from last time and leave them a tip so
[288]
sometimes I've gotten tips weeks after I've made a delivery easiest way to
[291]
maximize your tips be efficient be polite
[294]
maybe sending a personal text after you've made the delivery that says hey
[298]
thanks for ordering with uber etes have a nice day those kind of things go a
[302]
long way also be sure use the hot bag when you have food that's hot they give
[307]
you a bag that's insulated and keeps the food hot put it in the bag I like to
[312]
physically take it out of the bag when I'm delivering it so that way they know
[315]
I used it because if you just come up with the regular back from the
[318]
restaurant they don't even know you used it they will appreciate it and will
[321]
translate it in the tips use the hot bag alright now let's talk about how to
[324]
maximize your earnings so the name of the game here is pay attention every
[329]
trip you go on you're gonna learn something new so just pay attention to
[332]
the information you get so if you are consistently getting deliveries from one
[337]
area you're gonna know that's pretty high-traffic area there's a lot of
[341]
restaurants that do uber eats around here so maybe stay around that area because
[345]
you're gonna have the most volume of deliveries to accept you'll start to
[348]
learn the best times that you should drive for me that's been usually on the
[352]
weekdays during lunch time seems to be a really good time to drive there's not as
[357]
much traffic there's a lot of orders being placed same thing goes for the
[360]
weekends a lot of people ordering all day long Saturdays and Sundays great
[364]
time to drive and also not as much traffic and then sometimes just driving
[369]
at dinner I mean there's always every day of the week people are ordering a lot at
[373]
night so you just kind of have to find what works best for you works with your
[377]
schedule and if you're doing it full-time you might just be driving all
[381]
the time anyways so depending on your schedule if you only drive uber eats a
[384]
couple hours a week what you want to look out for is driving in boost times
[389]
so the boosted times are I have an area that if you drive and make deliveries
[394]
within that area you'll make more money so it
[397]
sometimes is one and a half times the regular rate and that boost can really
[402]
make a big difference and just maximize your earnings if you're doing those same
[407]
exact trips same distances same restaurants you're going to in a non
[411]
boosted time it's you're going to make less money for the same amount of time
[416]
and effort so look out for those boosted areas there's a promotions tab in the
[419]
app you can find it at all times and it'll give you a schedule for about a
[422]
week out you can see exactly when all the boosted times are and kind of plan
[426]
your schedule around that alright so how is the payment calculated so as soon as
[430]
you arrive at the restaurant you're picking up from you start getting paid
[434]
so it's calculated based on the miles from the restaurant to the customer and
[439]
the time it takes so that's how your payment is structured plus tip so if you
[444]
had to drive a really short distance to get to the restaurant and then maybe a
[448]
long distance to get to the customer that's your ideal trip because you're
[452]
getting paid for the most amount of time and mileage all right so how do you get
[455]
paid this is probably one of my favorite things about driving for uber eats
[459]
is the instant pay feature you can cash out whenever you want so the normal
[464]
schedule is that you get paid weekly so every week you'll get a check from uber
[468]
if you drive three or four days that week you'll get paid for that time if
[472]
you drive one day that week you'll still get paid once a week for that time the
[476]
instant pay feature allows you to cash out your balance whenever you want so if
[480]
I Drive 10 hours on Wednesday and I want that money immediately I can cash it out
[485]
right then and there when I go offline you can even cash out more than once
[489]
throughout the day if you like so if you drive for a couple hours in the morning
[492]
or in the afternoon and you can cash out then and then maybe you drive a couple
[496]
more hours at night you cash out again you don't have to but it is an option
[500]
and when I say instant pay I mean when you cash out it goes directly into your
[505]
linked bank account and it is available for you to spend immediately there's no
[509]
waiting period of it takes three days or it even takes an hour it goes into your
[514]
bank account instantly so that's one of my favorite features you can get your
[517]
money right away so if you drive for uber eats you can actually save a lot of
[520]
money on your taxes because you can write off a lot of expenses from your
[523]
day to day job functions so number one being mileage
[527]
so you can write off your mileage it's great to use some sort of tracking app
[531]
like mile IQ there could be other ones out there but make sure to track your
[536]
mileage so it's easy to report at the end of the year another thing you can
[539]
write off is wear and tear on your car car maintenance oil changes maybe you
[544]
get new tires all that stuff can be written off as expenses because you're
[548]
using your car for your job you can also write off part of your cell phone bill
[552]
as well since you're actually using your phone for your job all right so what's
[556]
it like to drive for uber eats so in my experience it's actually been
[560]
pretty fun I'm in Atlanta I've learned a lot about the restaurants everybody's
[566]
ordering from all the time I found a lot of good new places that I've eaten at
[569]
just from picking up orders there all the time I've learned to navigate the
[574]
city way better I'm so much more confident in navigating Atlanta now than
[578]
I was a few years ago as a direct result of driving for uber eats so I found
[583]
shortcuts that I use all the time I found never get off on this exit for
[588]
X&Y reason so there's a lot of pros to just learning your city and also
[592]
learning new spots new neighborhoods it's really cool and really the biggest
[596]
thing is not having a boss not having a supervisor and kind of being in control
[600]
of your schedule completely so you can go online and drive whenever you want if
[605]
you're doing it after at work you have a full time job do it on the weekends or
[609]
if driving uber eats is your full-time job I personally have driven uber eats
[613]
full-time I've done it part-time just on the weekends taking a couple months off
[618]
before sometimes I'll Drive only once a week so you really get to kind of
[623]
control your schedule and maybe you're coming up on the first of the month you
[627]
need a little bit of extra money for rent whatever it might be and you can
[630]
just get in the car and earn some money very easily just kind of at the drop of
[634]
a hat so that's a big Pro for me so who can drive for uber eats this could vary
[639]
state to state but in general you have to be 19 years old have a 1998 or newer
[645]
vehicle you have to have a valid driver's license and insurance how to
[649]
stay in good standing with uber so number one you have to take at least one
[654]
trip every 90 days so you got to do at least one delivery every 90 days or you
[658]
could get suspended another very simple thing you
[661]
have to keep your documents up-to-date so your insurance and your car
[664]
registration you have to keep those up to date if your license is coming up to
[668]
expire you have to keep that up to date it's as simple as uploading a photo make
[672]
sure you set a reminder when you get close to that expiration date I have
[674]
missed the deadline before uploading my insurance information and I've been
[679]
unable to drive for about a week because I didn't have my documents up to date so
[683]
be sure to set a reminder you have to accept the majority of trips that you
[687]
get pushed so I think it's 85% of your deliveries you have to accept on the
[692]
flip side of that you can't cancel more than 15% of the trips you've already
[696]
accepted so this is uber's way of making sure that you're completing the
[700]
trips that you say you're doing and also making sure you can't just deny trips
[703]
until you get the one you want so make sure you accept trips frequently if not
[707]
always and rarely if ever cancel a trip once you've accepted it and the last
[712]
thing is just have a good work ethic and a good attitude
[715]
because that's gonna translate into customers giving you good ratings and if
[719]
you get a bunch of bad ratings uber doesn't like that so good work ethic
[722]
good attitude good ratings okay people ask me this all the time can you eat on
[727]
the job do you ever steal people's fries from their order no basically I never
[731]
steal anybody's food but pretty easy to eat on the job first of all you're going
[735]
to a bunch of restaurants it's easy to pick up a quick snack or a drink you
[738]
don't want to necessarily place a full order for a meal while you're also
[741]
picking up someone's order that's just gonna cost you time and money
[745]
it's silly you could bring food from home if you like the rare gem that happens is
[750]
someone cancels an order when you've already picked up the food that's when
[753]
you get to eat their food so that's usually the best case scenario very rare
[758]
don't expect it all right I got one last tip on how you can make some extra money
[762]
driving with uber eats when you sign up
[765]
uber has what they call the referral program they'll give you a referral code
[769]
and you can share that with friends and family to sign them up to drive uber
[772]
eats and you'll get a kickback so I have my referral code in the description if
[777]
you click that link and sign up you'll have to complete a certain amount of
[781]
trips it's usually around 25 or 30 could be more could be less it varies by each
[785]
case you should get a bonus I sometimes get a bonus from uber as well for
[790]
signing you up all right so thanks for watching this
[793]
video if you have any questions be sure to leave a comment below I'll be
[797]
monitoring the comments section a lot so I'm gonna try to respond to
[800]
everything possible that I can also if you already drive for uber eats and you
[805]
want to share some of your experience go ahead and leave a comment below it
[809]
really helps the video it helps the channel and also you might put some
[812]
information in there I didn't cover that somebody else sees and it helps them out
[816]
so leave your expertise in a comment leave your questions and once again
[821]
thanks for watching get out there deliver something uber eats
[826]
alright everybody I just got done with my deliveries for the day thanks for
[829]
watching till the end of the video I mentioned earlier that I would tell you
[832]
at the end how you can make an additional bonus when you sign up to
[835]
start driving for uber eats so we talked about the referral program
[838]
earlier so when you sign up with my code which is below i have a link directly to
[843]
it when you sign up using that most times you will get a bonus and I will
[847]
also get a bonus for signing you up so to really sweeten the deal what I'm
[851]
gonna do is add an additional bonus on top of that so here's how that's gonna
[855]
work if you sign up using my code uber eats will tell you how many trips you
[859]
need to complete to get that bonus once you complete those number of trips come
[863]
back to this video I've left an email in the description so
[867]
send me an email let me know you completed your trips I'll verify it on
[871]
my end that you really did complete the trips and if I got a bonus for signing
[875]
you up I'm gonna send you an additional $50 on top of the bonus you get from uber eats
[879]
I'll put all this info in the description include the email that you
[883]
need to send a message to I think that's a nice extra bonus an additional $50 you
[889]
never know what kind of bonus you're gonna get from uber so it's just a nice
[892]
extra incentive I'm happy to do it any questions at all you guys have leave
[897]
them in the comments I'm gonna try to answer every single one and if I don't
[900]
know the answer I can refer you to the right place so with that being said
[904]
thanks for watching the video we'll wrap it up here and don't forget I have a
[908]
sign-up link in the description click through to that it'll take you right to
[912]
the sign up page it's really easy and you can get on the road and be delivering
