between your HOA and management company

a lot of neighborhoods are set up in a

way that you have a management company

and the HOA so I'm going to tell you

what the difference is between the two

are you know damn well I could go ahead

and paint my house any color I want to

they're not gonna tell me what to do

well it's your house honey you could do

whatever you want who cares what the HOA

or that management company says right

girl any kind of exterior work that's

done on the outside of your home always

needs to be approved by your HOA or your

management company please verify that

you are going to be doing the correct

kinds of improvements to your home that

will be accepted to the HOA nothing is

worse than putting in a new deck and

then finding out it doesn't meet the

requirements so always get approval

first well you know that there are board

members so they're never held to the

same kind of rules we are you're right

don't think that the actual people that

are on the board get special treatment

they maybe listen to a little bit more

but that doesn't mean that they have to

follow different rules and everybody

everybody else they have to follow the

rules I just don't understand why the

members of the HOA are so hell-bent

about not getting our roads fixed in

this neighborhood they're just terrible

when it comes to roadwork in a

subdivision our parish is here which our

county is in the rest of the United

States have to still be approved by the

parish themselves we can't just decide

that we're gonna repair any kinds of

roads until we get that a parish
[116]
approval well I'm not one to gossip but

I have to tell you I know they're

they're getting a little bit kickback

over there from our association dues

the only payment they're accepting under

the table either I mean they are taking

our money common misconception between
[134]
people on the board and the homeowners

is that they get paid or they get some

kind of money from the board itself the

management company and the reason why

it's set in place is so that any kind of

funds that are removed from it can be
[146]
verified the board actually has to
[147]
provide receipts and documentation of
[150]
any kind of funds for any kind of
[151]
repairs that are done to the properties
[154]
around the area well Alexis I wish

someone would explain to me why we have

a management company anyways if we have

an HOA what's the difference it was like

makes no sense these people are crazy a

lot of people believe you do not need a

management company when you have an

established HOA many neighborhoods

choose to have a management company to

not create bad blood between neighbors

that any kind of repairs that need to be

done in the neighborhood has to have
[179]
some kind of intervention that allows
[182]
for the home owners to have equal
[183]
standing so that's why a lot of the

homeowners decide to go ahead and get
[187]
the management company to run the HOA

sunny you could do whatever you want who
[191]
cares what the HOA or that management
[192]
company says I think my client just
[196]
really wanted everybody to understand
[197]
there is a difference between your HOA
[199]
and management company your HOA is just
[202]
a conduit between you and the management
[204]
company so everybody's best interests
[206]
