you how to use finviz specifically the聽
stock screener over at finviz to find聽聽

well anything you want really but in this video聽
i'm going to show you how to use it to find聽聽

short squeeze stocks uh the next stock potentially聽
that could go parabolic from squeezing out all the聽聽
[20]
short sellers in that stock so we're going to look聽
for stocks that have a high short float in those聽聽

stocks with the stock screener over at finviz so聽
let's jump into it i'm over at finviz.com that's

i mean there's just a ton of great information聽聽

if you're not using it yet when you are looking聽聽

at stocks if you're looking for information or聽
if you're looking for that next stock to invest聽聽

we're going to go to finvis.com and then click on聽
this button right here that says screener that is聽聽

their stock screener tool okay so once we have聽
that pulled up to find a stock that has a high聽聽
[87]
short float we need to filter for it聽
right and if i didn't say in the intro聽聽
[92]
the reason that someone may want to look for a聽
stock with a high short interest is because when聽聽
[99]
those shorts get squeezed out of that stock in聽
short squeeze means if a stock goes up and a short聽聽
[107]
seller has to cover their position so they can't聽
be short the position anymore because they're just聽聽
[112]
losing so much money when that happens those聽
short sellers have to cover their position it聽聽
[118]
pushes the stock even higher so it just kind聽
of creates this this hyperbolic scenario where聽聽

you know you have people buying the stock and聽
then you have people that are short selling also聽聽
[132]
buying the stock and it just keeps going up and聽
up and up so we've seen examples like that with聽聽

gamestop recently with amc recently and there are聽
many other stocks that this is happening to that聽聽
[145]
aren't as popular right now but we can find that聽
really easily go over the stock screener button聽聽

and we're going to look for the short float or聽
the float short right here this button right here聽聽

we want to change that to whatever threshold we聽
want to look at so if you make it super super high聽聽

like over 30 percent you can certainly do that聽
but it's going to filter you down to you know less聽聽

than two pages worth of stock so if we go over聽
to the second page we can see there's 36 stocks聽聽

in the entire stock market that have a short聽
float of more than 30 percent so if you want to聽聽
[184]
only look at you know the most very most聽
shorted stocks then that's how you would do it聽聽

and you can look at uh what that short float聽
is right now we're on this overview tab you聽聽

would have to go over to i believe is it it's not聽
financial maybe it's ownership here you go this聽聽

ownership tab right here and then this column聽
will show you the float short the short float聽聽

right here right so if you want to sort by that聽
you click on it click it again to give you the聽聽

most shorted stocks up up at the top so these聽
are the most shorted stocks in the stock market聽聽

right now you've got you know in a lot of聽
these there are so many stocks out there guys聽聽
[228]
a lot of these you are probably you've probably聽
never heard of uh pub matic is a 200 million聽聽
[234]
dollar company very small it's only got 20 million聽
shares out there right and 46 of them are shorted聽聽
[244]
so that is an extremely high ratio obviously it's聽
number one right so is the most shorted company uh聽聽
[252]
in the stock market um if you want to look at more聽
than just 30 whatever was 36 companies if you want聽聽
[260]
to kind of look for you know the right scenario聽
for you then you may want to open this up to聽聽
[267]
you know maybe over twenty percent or over twenty聽
five percent and that'll give you a lot more聽聽
[272]
companies to look at and again you wanna聽
sh you want to sort by this column right聽聽
[277]
here this uh short float column to make sure聽
that uh you are looking at the most shorted聽聽
[284]
and if you flip it the other way聽
it'll be the least shorted in your聽聽
[288]
filter right so you have it set to over 25聽
percent so the least shorted company in this聽聽
[294]
filter is going to be right at 25 right so that's聽
how you do that there are a couple of other ways聽聽
[301]
other ways there's a couple of things that i would聽
recommend looking at when you're trying to find uh聽聽
[306]
companies that are being heavily shorted or if聽
you're looking for a short squeeze you want to聽聽
[312]
look at the short ratio as well this is going聽
to tell you how many days short sellers need聽聽
[319]
to cover their positions based on how many shares聽
they're shorting and how many shares are being聽聽
[325]
traded every day right because if there are let's聽
say 5 million shares shorted but that company you聽聽
[334]
know there's only 700 000 shares traded every聽
day it's going to take a long time for a short聽聽
[342]
seller to cover that position right you can't do聽
it in one day it's going to take several days so聽聽
[349]
when you see these big short squeezes it typically聽
goes over multiple days because you have short聽聽
[356]
sellers trying to get out out of their positions聽
across multiple days and they can't because there聽聽
[363]
are so many shares shorted and there's just not聽
a lot of volume right so if you ever hear about聽聽
[370]
you know low float companies being shorted that's聽
what they're talking about there they're talking聽聽
[376]
about you know companies that just don't trade聽
a lot of volume that have high short interest so聽聽
[385]
those short squeezes could go on for days and just聽
keep going up and up and up that's something that聽聽
[390]
i like to look into another thing that i like to聽
look into is how many total shares are out there聽聽
[398]
right because there's a big difference between聽
workhorse for example that has a 122 million聽聽
[404]
shares on the streets and this company right here聽
that i've never heard of uh rmed that only has聽聽
[411]
three million shares out on the streets right big聽
difference there huge difference um so one other聽聽
[418]
thing that i like to look at that you're not going聽
to see on this page is how popular is the company聽聽
[424]
with retail investors retail traders the聽
reddit crew the wall street bets crew聽聽
[430]
right workhorse is a pretty popular company among聽
that crowd so that could be a prime company to see聽聽
[441]
you know them uh push it or just keep investing聽
and not selling their their positions right聽聽
[447]
what do you call it diamond hands you know hold聽
their positions until the short sellers give up聽聽
[453]
right when you have these other companies聽
that no one's ever heard of or it's not聽聽
[456]
trending on stock twits or reddit wall street聽
bets any of that any of those forums or blogs聽聽
[466]
or groups or anything like that then in my opinion聽
it's less likely that that crowd is going to have聽聽
[472]
much to do with that short squeeze right when聽
we see in the in the news amc and gamestop going聽聽
[478]
parabolic with these short squeezes that's largely聽
because of the retail investor having diamond聽聽
[485]
hands and just not selling and keep they keep聽
buying in so i look for okay what is popular on聽聽
[492]
this list right workhorse is popular tattoo chef聽
is popular i think i've seen a lot about clover聽聽

you know things like that so these are some things聽
to keep in mind guys i'm not telling anybody聽聽

that there's one perfect way to do this i'm just聽
trying to give you ideas okay and this is how you聽聽

get there you go to finvis.com you click on that聽
screen a button you search that float short filter聽聽

right there and then click on this ownership聽
button right here that's how you get to where i'm聽聽

at right now and i told you guys a few things that聽
i like to look at right the main thing is looking聽聽

at or sorting by this float short column so that聽
you see the most shorted companies and this is all聽聽

free uh i don't i did not log into account i just聽
went straight to finvis.com um and uh that's it聽聽
