plastic surgery financing we'll talk about the  types of plastic surgery financing as well as  

methods for paying for your plastic surgery the  first part of this video is all legit options  

for paying for your plastic surgery at the end of  this video there's some not quite legitimate ways  

that people have used to pay for their plastic  surgery and even a creepy way so stay tuned

secrecy surrounding plastic surgery by telling  you about procedures you may not have heard of  

that actually work if that sounds good to you  please subscribe I remember when I first wanted  

to get plastic surgery on my nose I felt this  urgency like I needed to get it done yesterday  

I also remember being completely and utterly  broke so when I tell you that I understand  

your frustration about not being able to pay for  plastic surgery and having to wait you know that  

I really really understand where you're coming  from I wanted to make this video because a lot  

of people ask me how I paid for my various  surgeries and so instead of giving you the  

mundane details of my story which may or may not  apply to you I decided to research and give you  

guys a list of possible ways you can finance your  plastic surgery because I know everyone and their  

mom hates waiting and saving and paying in cash  for surgery I decided to leave the saving option  

for last so the first option for financing your  plastic surgery is asking your doctor whether  

they have an in-house financing plan this is where  the doctor finances your surgery independent of a  

third party like a credit card or a medical  credit card the pros of this method is not  

really needing a highest credit score the con of  this method is that a lot of doctors offices no  

longer offer this now that there's other options  this method of financing is something that I've  

used personally so I can give you my first-hand  opinion of it so Care Credit is a credit card  

specifically to cover medical expenses it's  also used for elective procedures I've heard  

of it being used for dental work vision plastic  surgery and even veterinary care the reason that  

Care Credit is better than a credit card in my  opinion is because of its short-term financing  

options people can make payments over 6 12 18 or  24 months and during the agreed-upon repayment  

period its 0% interest even though I've used and  loved Care Credit there's definitely pros and cons  

to it so first the pro once you're approved for  a Care Credit you can take that card and use it  

at different doctors offices which means if you  want multiple procedures but don't necessarily  

want the same doctor for all of the procedures  you can take that card use it once at the doctor's  

office that you applied at and then you can  take it to another plastic surgeon's office  

and get a different procedure another reason I  like it is because the minimal credit score to  

be approved is a lot lower than a credit card  I believe it's around 6:23 I've also heard it  

go as low as 600 when you get approved with the  lower credit score the amount you're approved  

for is also lower in either case if you repay it  quickly it's a really good way to build up your  

credit score so this is a big kind of Care Credit  so if the balance is not paid by the agreed upon  

repayment period between 6 and 24 months you are  charged retroactively interest so so not only will  

your interest rate get set to 26% you'll also be  charged the 26 percent interest rate from the 0%  

financing period don't get care credit if you  don't make enough at your job to repay the full  

amount before the repayment period ends because  once the repayment period and you'll get charged  

26 percent interest Care Credit will send you  a bill with the minimum balance due every month  

you're going to ignore that because Care Credit is  hoping you won't pay off the balance by the end of  

the repayment period you'll have to calculate for  yourself how much you'll have to pay monthly to  

be able to pay off the procedures by the end of  the repayment period because I don't think Care  

Credit does it for you so I used a combination  of cash and care credit to pay for my rhinoplasty  

reconstruction surgery because I'm married my  husband and I knew that we could pay off the  

balance after eight months and so we totally  took advantage of the 0% interest rate and we  

had no problems paying it off by the end of eight  months another method of paying for your surgery  

is check out if there's any teaching hospitals  in your area I've researched this a little and  

in a lot of cases you can get your procedure at  a big discount if you're eligible to be one of  

their patients now a big con is obviously being  worked on by a student plastic surgeon but from  

what I understand a lot of the teachers at these  teaching hospitals are really accomplished plastic  

surgeons themselves for example my blepharoplasty  surgeon dr. Tobin also teaches at UCLA I've read  

about people being really pleased with the results  at a teaching hospital but of course do your own  

research about the best teaching hospitals to go  to the next method is crowdfunding this is a kind  

of creative way to finance your plastic surgery  but I almost didn't include it because it could  

be controversial and even a little bit creepy let  me explain there's various plastic surgery crowd  

funding websites some of them are more legit  than others so you'll have to do your research  

the basic idea is that you create a profile in  a bio and then a photo is optional you can also  

be anonymous and then you hope that some kind  stranger will come along and donate to your fund  

as we all know you don't get something for nothing  and I have read that mostly the benefactors are  

men looking to get some after photos you know  what I mean another way to crowdfund is from  

your friends and your family you can set up a bank  account specifically for your future surgery let's  

call it a surgery account and you can tell friends  and family to donate it so for example instead of  

getting a birthday gift or a holiday gift they can  just donate to your account okay so that brings us  

to saving saving until you can afford surgery is  probably the best method if you can do it some  

people are just so patient and they can do this  method if you want to speed up the method just a  

little bit more you can get a job driving for uber  or lyft and just specifically a lot all the funds  

you make to your plastic surgery so here are some  less legitimate ways to finance your surgery that  

I don't recommend and are risky but I decided  to include them here because I did find them in  

my research so one way people are financing their  surgery is by using student loans they apply for  

a loan and they received the loan and whatever  is left over they use for their plastic surgery  

now using student loans for not their intended  purposes is illegal in the United States so I  

really don't recommend this method last but not  least is becoming a sugar baby this method is very  

popular online but I've never met anyone in person  who's done this I have no moral judgments against  

this method but I personally wouldn't do it  because I don't like the feeling of owing somebody
