Channel: TrekBook India

[2]
Hello Friends, I am Mahesh from TrekBook India
[6]
Todays video is dedicated to research which I have done for Health Insurance
[13]
So 30 years I was in service & my health insurance was covered by my company
[21]
It was useful only once in 30 years during Covid period
[25]
when my complete family was hospitalized & expenses were ~3.5 Lacs
[28]
which was covered due to the Health Insurance
[31]
So because of this - as soon as I signed off
[33]
& now I am going to Travel & Trek, So
[38]
So I know that its mandatory for me to take a good Health Insurance
[43]
So which Insurance I took & what study I did that I will present
[48]
so that it may be useful to you
[50]
again let me tell you that this is not a Sponsored Review
[54]
I do not have any relation to any Insurance company directly
[57]
I am presenting study which I have done it for myself
[60]
Whenever you take any decision I suggest to consult with your Insurance Advisor
[65]
do not depend upon my video, which I am telling you upfront
[68]
because I get many comments, specifically from Agents which I don't want
[76]
so this is my personal study which I have done for myself
[79]
which will be useful to you & that's why I am presenting it here
[84]
so lets goto the chart which I have prepared on how many Insurance companies are there in India
[91]
& what is there Claim Settlement Raito for year 2020
[98]
which I have added to the second column
[99]
third column shows number of network hospitals
[103]
so now we have 28 companies
[106]
for which I have made the chart & ref website name I have given here
[110]
from which I have taken this data, Okay?
[113]
so I have used some colours like Green & Yellow
[119]
I will explain the colur reference
[121]
Top 3 companies having highest business
[126]
last year & this year highest business share
[129]
in health insurance section in India
[131]
1. Star Health Insurance
[133]
2. HDFC Ergo Insurance
[135]
3. New India General Insurance
[138]
So for this reason I have given them Green Colour
[140]
because they have highest business
[143]
out of which 2 nos Star Health & HDFC Ergo have ~10K network hospitals which is the highest
[150]
so Network Hospitals are very important for cashless
[154]
so that is why I have made them Green
[156]
rest 3 are Yellow because they fall in Top 6
[160]
I am saying Top 6
[162]
Why I am saying 6 because Care health insurance
[165]
in terms of business they are at no.6 in India
[169]
but their Claim Settlement Ratio is 95.47%
[172]
so I thought to include them too
[174]
so let's move on to Next Slide where we will see
[179]
for ease of understanding same data I have converted to Graphical format
[185]
okay - so let's move on to the next slide
[188]
okay
[189]
so this is a graph
[190]
Claim Settlement Ratio is shown on Vertical Axis 70-100%
[197]
Why 70% because I wanted to filter out companies having less than 70% Claim Settlement Ratio
[206]
like SBI General Insurance
[208]
& Go Digit & Chola having Claim Settlement Ratio below 70%
[213]
the Blue colour graph have disappeared because
[220]
their Claim Settlement Rations are below 70%
[222]
Now lets talk about second axis
[225]
this side axis
[227]
this is for the Network Hospitals
[229]
so I have cut-off Network Hospitals below 6,000
[233]
so the light coloured vertical bars
[238]
light beige color are Network Hospitals
[241]
Okay?
[242]
so this provides quick overview of Network Hospitals & Claim Settlement rations of difference companies
[248]
So as per my judgement I have given 1 to 6 ranking
[253]
let me tell you that this is as per me
[254]
so number 1 is Star Health Insurance
[257]
because
[258]
their business share is almost 31% in India
[262]
which is highest in India, they are the Top
[265]
second number is 10-11% I guess
[269]
so that is why I have given no 1 rank to Star Health
[273]
they have highest business & highest Network Hospitals, Okay?
[278]
although their Claim Settlement Ratio is above 70%
[281]
I think we saw it 78% or so
[284]
second number is HDFC Ergo
[286]
again because they have got highest Network Hospitals
[288]
they have got good Settlement Ratio as well as they are second no. in business
[293]
of course they rank slightly lower like 10-12% business share, lets see on next slide
[299]
third number is New India General Insurance
[302]
again their ranking is also as per the business
[305]
fourth is National Insurance Company
[308]
fifth is Oriental Insurance Company
[310]
& sixth no. is Care Health Insurance
[313]
so what I have done, the quotations which I have taken
[317]
or feature comparison which I have done
[319]
that I have done in no1, no2, & no6 - Why like that?
[324]
because HDFC ergo & Star health are top in terms of business & network hospitals
[330]
so it was mandatory to include them
[333]
& I have taken Care Health too
[336]
although they are n.6 in terms of business
[338]
their Claim settlement ratio is almost above 95%
[342]
so I though of including them too in comparison
[344]
I haven't taken all 6 since it will become too complex
[348]
& as per my study I thought its not necessary
[350]
because my personal tendency is to go with number 1 or 2
[354]
okay? so this is the explanation of the graph
[357]
lets move ahead
[362]
so this slide shows 2 charts
[365]
left side chart in Blue colour
[368]
referred from Ditto which shows
[372]
year 2020 business of these companies
[375]
shows that how many crores or lac people are insured by these companies
[381]
so obviously you can see Star Health s highest
[386]
they have insured 1.1 crore people in year 2020
[391]
second number is HDFC Ergo actually
[393]
but in this graph it shows differently
[396]
because if you combine Ergo & General Insurance
[400]
then that comes to the second no. in 2020
[403]
third no. is New India Insurance
[405]
fourth is National
[406]
& then Oriental
[408]
Care you can see having 18 Lac in year 2020
[411]
now lets look at the second side
[414]
where I have shown graph of 2021
[422]
so 2021 again if you see
[425]
Star Health market share is 31%
[428]
HDFC Ergo General is 10.4%
[432]
New India Insurance 9.9%
[434]
National is 7.9%
[435]
Oriental is 7.1%
[437]
& Care is 6.2%
[439]
so the ranking is exactly as per the market share
[442]
bottom ones are phased out since their market share is LESS
[446]
so like I said Star Health, HDFC Ergo & Care Health
[451]
I took quotation for my age above 50-55 age group
[456]
& quotation is for me & my wife - so lets see them
[462]
so this is simple table
[463]
one side shows Plan details
[465]
& then columns HDFC Ergo, Star Health
[468]
Star Health I have shown 2 columns, I will tell you the reason
[472]
& last column is Care Health
[475]
so first I have shown Premium which I have received for my age
[482]
Premium amount is just here & there by 1-2K
[488]
sum assured I have taken 5 Lac Rs
[491]
& age group is 51-55 two adults
[494]
quotations are for this
[495]
insurance quotes will change as per your specific case
[500]
I have selected for reimbursement of hospitalization & cashless
[504]
now columns you care read comfortably
[507]
I will not dwell too much on this chart
[510]
I will try to quickly cover my thoughts
[513]
first is Room Rent
[516]
all four gives actual room rent
[520]
then comes pre-hospitalization
[522]
any expenses you have done prior to hospitalization
[525]
so HDFC Ergo & Star health giving it for 60 days
[529]
whereas Care health gives it for 30 days
[531]
then post-hospitalization
[534]
HDFC Ergo provides for 180 days
[537]
Star health gives upto 90 days
[540]
Care health gives upto 60 days
[542]
in my Covid case I could not manage to get pre and post reimbursement
[547]
because of my condition I could not submit bills
[553]
so I took only hospitalization
[554]
but if someone is really careful can take good advantage of this facility
[560]
so here HDFC Ergo scores more
[565]
then going to the Restoration details
[569]
so in Restoration, suppose you have heart decease & your insurance is of 5 lac Rs
[576]
& 4 lac Rs gets consumed in hospitalization
[581]
so next time if you gets hospitalized again
[584]
then you get reimbursement of 1 Lac only
[587]
after that if you get hospitalized again, 5 Lac get restored
[592]
so it is like this
[595]
again I am saying, you should ask details to your insurance advisor
[598]
I am just insisting that you should look for restoration details too
[601]
so the Star health Optima - the one which I have taken
[606]
it has 3 times restoration
[608]
since 5 las - it becomes 5L +5L + 5L = 15L restoration which I felt advantage
[613]
second is pre-existing deceases
[617]
so this too I have highlighted in Blue color in Star Health insurance
[622]
you can include pre-existing deceases within 1 year by paying additional premium
[631]
otherwise HDFC Ergo & Star health have 3 years condition for pre-existing deceases
[639]
I haven't given much thought on this since I don't have any pre-existing decease
[645]
but you can see this during selection
[647]
now lets move on to second slide
[649]
now here again I have highlighted in Green colour
[654]
first lets see on Worldwide emergency, when you go outside
[658]
foreign countries, then these insurances are not useful
[661]
no insurance company provides this,
[664]
so for that you have to take difference insurance
[667]
that presentation I will make separately, since I am planning Vietnam trip
[672]
where I have to take that insurance, hence I will study it
[678]
so just keep this in mind
[680]
now second thing I have highlighted is maternity benefits
[682]
so of course its not applicable at this age, but
[686]
but if you are young, if you see Star health comprehensive plan
[690]
it covers 20K Rs after 2 years
[694]
so if you are young you can check with your advisor about maternity benefits - how much & when
[703]
so you can select policy accordingly
[705]
and then
[707]
non allopathic details, this is very important
[710]
at specifically my age
[712]
most of the times my tendency is to take Ayurveda treatment
[717]
so Ayurvedic treatment is not covered by HDFC Ergo
[721]
Care health also do not cover it, but
[724]
Star health both policies provides Ayush coverage upto 15K
[730]
which I feel very good, because
[731]
Ayurvedic treatment is very much needed at higher age
[735]
like for myself after 50 I will definitely think
[738]
I will prefer to have Ayurvedic treatment than Allopathic
[741]
so this is also important for you to see
[744]
so rest all things as per me are same
[749]
so presently I have taken Star health optima
[756]
after doing all this study
[758]
I could have taken Comprehensive, but I don't need few benefits from that
[762]
like maternity benefit I don't need
[765]
that is why I have gone for that, Okay?
[769]
so as per my study I went for Star health
[775]
so I have given Star health website link below
[779]
you will be directed to the website after clicking link
[783]
now you will see big chart of plans
[786]
so obviously it is very difficult to decide
[789]
believe me, since I had discussed with my advisor
[792]
I finalized my insurance in detailed discussion with my advisor & preparation of this chart
[798]
so what you can do is to click on it
[801]
I will just show you what I have done
[802]
I will add a snapshot of what I did
[805]
so out of all insurance that you see there
[809]
choose any option like branch assisted, agent assisted or customer driven
[816]
you have 3 buttons there
[817]
click any of these buttons and
[819]
add your name and phone number & submit
[823]
later you need not do anything, because
[826]
company assigns your information to agent
[831]
& within a day you get call from agent
[836]
so that you can have detailed discussion with your requirements
[842]
so definitely the agent will suggest you more detailed thing
[850]
so I will suggest customer driven, because I tried all 3
[856]
so after you select customer drive, you get an email
[862]
& email contains your advisor email and phone no.
[865]
so that you can also call advisor or get call from him
[869]
so you will get call from IRDA certified advisor
[877]
so in that case its easy for you to choose right insurance
[882]
so I think that's all
[884]
thank you
[885]
and bye for now
[888]
& after doing car insurance you commented for health insurance
[893]
if you need more details, like accident insurance
[898]
as I go on taking them I will do videos
[900]
but specific to your requirements also I am ready to do presentation
[904]
thank you very much
[906]
& have a healthy life, thank you
