sci-fi, thriller film from 2010, titled Repo聽
Men. Spoilers ahead! Watch out and take care.聽

In the year 2025, technology has advanced聽
to such outstanding levels that scientists聽聽
[15]
have perfected bio-mechanical organs known as聽
"artiforgs". They're sold at very high prices聽聽
[19]
on credit by a company known as The Union, and聽
they hire "repo men" to locate and forcibly聽聽
[24]
repossess the organ whenever a client defaults on聽
a payment, invariably resulting in their deaths.聽聽
[28]
Remy is one of these repo men, as shown by the聽
tattoo on his neck, and the best at his job.聽聽
[33]
Tonight, he's waiting inside a house for聽
his target to arrive and when he does,聽聽
[37]
Remy doesn't hesitate to interrupt the fun time聽
he's having with a woman to tell him he comes from聽聽
[41]
The Union before knocking him out with a special聽
taser gun. The woman hits Remy with her bag,聽聽
[46]
trying to stop him, but Remy just knocks her聽
unconscious too before getting down to business.聽聽
[51]
After putting on some plastic overalls to聽
protect his uniform and headphones to listen to聽聽
[54]
some music, he takes out his tools and proceeds聽
to cut the man open to retrieve his artiforg,聽聽
[59]
which he then washes and puts in a聽
special sealed bag. The next morning,聽聽
[62]
Remy starts his day at home with his wife Carol聽
and his son Peter. After dropping Peter at school,聽聽
[67]
he goes around the city, collecting artiforgs and聽
leaving clients to die. Afterward, he goes to The聽聽
[73]
Union headquarters, where he bumps against an聽
employee dressed as a giant lung and stops by聽聽
[77]
a table to have some coffee, making him visible to聽
all the potential clients waiting to be assisted.聽聽
[82]
He watches how his boss Frank Mercer helps one聽
on the salesman convince a family to sign the聽聽
[86]
papers with a flawless speech before going to the聽
repo men's break room. In there, he finds Raymond聽聽
[91]
Pearl complaining about getting small jobs and聽
reminding him that he's on probation for brutally聽聽
[95]
attacking a woman in the subway. Frank suddenly聽
interrupts them, telling Remy not to stay around聽聽
[100]
the main floor much because he'll spook the聽
clients. Then he takes him to another room to聽聽
[104]
scan all the artiforgs he's collected during the聽
day as they're joined by Jake Freivald, Remy's聽聽
[108]
best friend. He used to bully him at school,聽
but then they went to war and fought together.聽聽
[112]
When the war was over, they accepted a job at The聽
Union because it was perfect for their skill-set聽聽
[117]
and the recruiter told them they were protecting聽
the health care system, although they really聽聽
[120]
didn't care about what they were protecting, they聽
just had fun with the missions. After tasing each聽聽
[125]
other for the laugh and getting called children聽
by Frank, Jake invites Remy to have some drinks,聽聽
[129]
which he accepts, but first he's got to stop by聽
Carol's workplace and let her know. Carol scolds聽聽
[134]
him for not having asked to be transferred to聽
sales and they insult each other before he leaves.聽聽
[138]
In the car, Jake tells Remy he thinks Carol is聽
trying to control him, and that the two of them聽聽
[143]
will always be repo men, but Remy understands聽
his wife's wishes. When they stop by the traffic聽聽
[148]
lights, they use their special scanners on聽
a nearby civilian and find out he's got an聽聽
[151]
artiforg in him, so they tease him and remind him聽
what happens if he doesn't pay. When the man runs聽聽
[156]
away in fear, they just laugh. They make it to聽
the bar and share a couple of beers, discussing聽聽
[161]
the possibility of having to repo someone聽
they know while Remy watches the bar singer,聽聽
[165]
Beth, with intense attention. He returns to his聽
house a few hours later and starts playing some聽聽
[169]
music by T-bone before getting closer to his wife,聽
intending to have intimacy with her, but Carol聽聽
[174]
turns him down. So instead, Remy goes upstairs to聽
check on his son and talk about his day at school.聽聽
[180]
Some days later, Remy is hosting a barbecue party聽
in his garden when Jake asks him for a favor:聽聽
[185]
he has a client coming in and he wants to repo聽
him there. Remy doesn't like the idea at first,聽聽
[189]
but Jake convinces him by offering half of聽
the double commission he's getting out of it.聽聽
[193]
A taxi stops in front of the house and Jake聽
cuts its passenger open right there in the聽聽
[197]
middle of the street, and he ends up being seen聽
by Carol and Peter when they enter the house.聽聽
[201]
Carol is furious that his husband has allowed聽
this, so she tells him to choose between his聽聽
[205]
job and his family before leaving with their son.聽
Remy tells Jake he'll have to talk to Frank about聽聽
[210]
it. Later at night, Remy and Jake go out to聽
patrol and chat about the new M 5 Neural Net,聽聽
[215]
a new technology used to connect people with brain聽
damage to an eternal dream. Their conversation is聽聽
[220]
interrupted when Jake's scanner finds a "nest",聽
which is what they call a refuge for hundreds聽聽
[224]
of customers who have defaulted on payments聽
and are attempting to escape the country.聽聽
[228]
After retrieving all their weapons from the聽
car trunk, they go inside and start tasing as聽聽
[232]
many people as possible. At first, they go down聽
easily, but eventually they start to fight back.聽聽
[237]
Jake has to deal with two customers by聽
directly punching them or using a stun baton,聽聽
[241]
and Remy finds himself in the middle of a聽
hand-to-hand fight as well. He stabs all his聽聽
[245]
opponents with a knife before going to look for聽
Jake, who is being overpowered by a guy bigger聽聽
[250]
than him. Remy knocks the guy out and ends up聽
arguing with Jake, who thinks he didn't need聽聽
[254]
help. The two of them return to Frank's office聽
a couple of hours later with all the spoils,聽聽
[258]
including two scanning jammers, which are used聽
to avoid being found by the repo men's scanners.聽聽
[263]
After putting those away, Frank tells them he's聽
impressed and offers them the opportunity to聽聽
[267]
become full-time raid captains, which Remy turns聽
down. When he's about to ask for a transfer to the聽聽
[272]
sales department, Jake cuts in and tells Frank聽
they're good like this. After work is over,聽聽
[276]
Jake reminds Remy that rules are important,聽
and so it's enforcing them. He drops Jake at聽聽
[281]
his place then goes to take care of what he wants聽
to be his last repo job: Jimmy T-bone, a musician聽聽
[286]
he's always admired. He finds T-bone in his house聽
working on some music and consuming a red powder,聽聽
[291]
and when he mentions he's a fan, T-bone asks him聽
to help him finish the song before the repoing.聽聽
[296]
Remy accepts and when they're done, he also聽
promises to take the track to the record company.聽聽
[300]
Afterward, Remy asks him to lay down on the floor聽
so he can take his heart. First he needs to stop聽聽
[305]
it by using his defib unit, but when he puts the聽
paddles on T-bone's chest, the device malfunctions聽聽
[310]
and Remy gets electrocuted, knocking him out for聽
the third time in his life. He wakes up some days聽聽
[315]
later in a hospital bed, with Jake and Frank in聽
the room with him. Carol had been there too, but聽聽
[320]
left before Remy could see her. After telling him聽
this was the fault of a faulty shock unit, they聽聽
[324]
deliver the most important news: Remy's heart has聽
been replaced with an artiforg. As Frank insults聽聽
[329]
him by dropping his salesman speech, Remy tells聽
them he doesn't want the artiforg and gets out聽聽
[333]
of bed, leaving the room as he finally manages to聽
disconnect the machine in the middle of a hallway聽聽
[338]
and bleeding all over the place. He's only able to聽
take a couple of steps after that, his body soon聽聽
[343]
gives in and he falls to the floor, realizing he聽
has no other choice but to accept the mechanical聽聽
[347]
transplant. When he's released from the hospital,聽
the first thing he does is to go home, but he聽聽
[352]
can't get inside because his wife has changed the聽
lock. Carol comes over when he rings the bell and聽聽
[356]
gives him a suitcase, saying he chose his job聽
over his family when he took that last case.聽聽
[361]
Remy goes to stay at Jake's, who receives him with聽
drinks and an offer to hang out with some girls,聽聽
[366]
but Remy would rather rest. He goes back to work a聽
few days later, and his coworkers receive him with聽聽
[371]
a little welcome party that includes a bawdy聽
dancer. Afterward, he takes up a case again,聽聽
[375]
thinking he's ready. He breaks into the client's聽
house and chokes him after he tries to defend聽聽
[380]
himself, this leaves him unusually tired and聽
with a high heart rate. When the time comes聽聽
[384]
to take out the artiforg, he finds himself with聽
a trembling hand, unable to do it. He joins his聽聽
[389]
fellow repo men at a bar a few hours later and聽
pretends he finished his job, but when he hears聽聽
[393]
Jake tell his story, he can't stop thinking about聽
the client having a family. Distressed, he leaves聽聽
[398]
the bar early. The next day, he waits for Carol聽
and Peter at the entrance of their house, because聽聽
[403]
this is the only way he gets to see his son. After聽
hugging him, he tries to talk to Carol, but her聽聽
[408]
only response is to give him an envelope with a聽
notice saying he's behind on his heart payments.聽聽
[413]
Later, when Jake hears about this, he scolds him聽
for lying but accepts the fact Remy needs a break,聽聽
[418]
so he tells him they can work together again in聽
the future after he feels better. Remy tries a聽聽
[422]
sales position but it goes badly because he's聽
developed sympathy for the clients and can't聽聽
[426]
lie to them, his brutal honesty doesn't make for聽
good sales. He tries getting some extra money聽聽
[430]
by betting on horses, but he isn't good at that聽
either. When the final notice arrives in the mail,聽聽
[435]
Jake takes Remy to a nest and even tases聽
a couple of people for him; however,聽聽
[439]
Remy still can't do the job. Angry, Jake leaves聽
after telling him not to come back until he's聽聽
[444]
out of his slump and has enough artiforgs to clear聽
his debt. Remy still can't bring himself to do it,聽聽
[449]
so when the tased man wakes up, he beats him up聽
and leaves him unconscious for the fourth time.聽聽
[453]
He wakes up sometime later to the sound of聽
the song he heard the other day at the bar.聽聽
[457]
He follows it and finds Beth looking very sick,聽
so he decides to take her to a motel and watch聽聽
[462]
over her while her body goes through detox. When聽
he uses his scanner on her, he discovers she has聽聽
[467]
many artifogs and they must all be reclaimed.聽
When Beth finally wakes up, she punches Remy for聽聽
[472]
having helped her. When she mentions it's over聽
for both of them, he says maybe it isn't. Remy聽聽
[477]
breaks into The Union's building and attempts to聽
clear his and Beth's accounts, but he only manages聽聽
[481]
to do one of her many organs before he's found by聽
Jake, who is angry with him but lets him go when聽聽
[485]
he sees him return his taser gun. He breaks into聽
his old house next to say goodbye to Peter before聽聽
[490]
returning to the motel and telling Beth they need聽
to leave. They drive to the abandoned outskirts of聽聽
[494]
the city and after burning down the car, they hide聽
in an old, empty building. Meanwhile at The Union,聽聽
[500]
Frank tries to give Jake Remy's case, but he聽
refuses to take it, and so do the other repo men.聽聽
[505]
Days start to pass, and Remy and Beth build a聽
small home in the old building by salvaging trash.聽聽
[510]
One night, after she tells him all the details聽
behind her artiforgs, they kiss and make love.聽聽
[515]
Afterward, Beth gifts Remy a typewriter she found聽
in the trash. Remy begins to use it to write his聽聽
[520]
memoir. Many days later, Beth hears something聽
outside with her artifog ears, but Remy can't,聽聽
[526]
so she connects some headphones to her head to聽
show him. The source of the noise soon appears聽聽
[530]
entering the building: it's Raymond, who has聽
accepted Remy's case. The couple makes a plan to聽聽
[534]
avoid getting caught: they take their things to聽
another room that has a huge hole in the middle聽聽
[538]
of the floor and cover it with a bedsheet. Beth聽
hides behind the door and Remy pretends to be聽聽
[542]
writing when Raymond enters the room, expressing聽
disappointment over Remy being so easy to catch.聽聽
[547]
After taking out his weapon, he walks聽
farther inside and falls into the hole.聽聽
[551]
However, the floor is now unstable, so聽
when Beth comes closer to look at him,聽聽
[555]
she falls as well, damaging her prosthetic knee.聽
Raymond sees an opportunity and grabs his gun聽聽
[560]
to tase her, so Remy improvises and kills聽
him by dropping the typewriter on his head.聽聽
[564]
After stealing Raymond's car, Remy drives Beth聽
back to the city to get some supplies, but Beth聽聽
[569]
shows him she knows how to fix her own knee using聽
some tools she's found around. When they make it聽聽
[573]
to The Union's parking lot, Remy sees the guy that聽
wears the lung costume taking a break and steals聽聽
[578]
it from him to sneak inside without undetected.聽
He goes to see Frank at his office and punches him聽聽
[582]
a couple of times before threatening him with聽
the taser he took from Raymond, he also gives聽聽
[586]
him a piece of skin with Raymond's tattoo saying聽
he'll do that to anyone that tries to catch him.聽聽
[591]
Remy asks to be taken out of the system and Frank聽
explains the system has changed after Remy's first聽聽
[595]
attempt, now accounts can only be cleaned by聽
taking the organ to the Union's central office.聽聽
[600]
Frank tries to make him an offer, but Remy knocks聽
him out and steals the scanning jammers before聽聽
[604]
returning to Beth and telling her they're leaving聽
the country. When Frank wakes up, he orders Jake聽聽
[609]
to repo Remy. Later at the airport, Remy and Beth聽
manage to bypass the security checks thanks to聽聽
[614]
the jammers, but they're still taken away when聽
another passenger notices Beth's leg bleeding.聽聽
[619]
Remy throws the jammers in the trash on their聽
way out. While a guard gets ready to bandage聽聽
[623]
Beth's knee, two repo men arrive at the office聽
and scan Remy again, getting an alert this time.聽聽
[628]
The couple reacts quickly and gets into a fight聽
with all the guards, defending themselves with聽聽
[632]
their fists or even using objects they find lying聽
around, like the scissors Beth picks to stab two聽聽
[636]
of the officers. After everyone is taken care of,聽
they leave the office and come across Jake, who聽聽
[642]
can't do anything because he's on the other side聽
of a security panel, so Remy picks up Beth and聽聽
[646]
takes her out of the building. Back in the car,聽
the couple drives to an old building in the city聽聽
[650]
slums where they meet with Asbury, a black-market聽
organs dealer Beth used to date. After he shares聽聽
[655]
some red powder with Beth and argues with Remy聽
about the morality of their jobs, he informs聽聽
[659]
them he can't help Beth because he doesn't deal聽
with joints anymore, so they need to pay a visit聽聽
[663]
to Alva. When they go to get the procedure done,聽
they discover there are actually two Alvas: one is聽聽
[668]
a young woman that only does anesthesia, the other聽
is a little kid that does the operation itself.聽聽
[673]
Remy is worried about her age and skills,聽
but little Alva proves to know her job.聽聽

After Beth wakes up some hours later, they go聽
back to Asbury's place, only to find he's been聽聽
[682]
repoed. Jake appears then and tries to get Remy聽
to come back with him, but Remy turns him down,聽聽
[687]
saying he hasn't been the same since the accident.聽
Jake confesses it wasn't an actual accident,聽聽
[691]
he had rigged the defibrillator unit so Remy would聽
build up debt and wouldn't transfer to sales.聽聽

The two men start fighting hand-to-hand, and while聽
at first it looks like they're on the same level,聽聽
[700]
eventually Jake overpowers Remy and throws him聽
through a wall. He throws Remy around until he聽聽
[705]
is dropped on a metal bridge; Remy starts laughing聽
and takes out a knife that he uses to stab Jake聽聽
[709]
in the leg before Jake retaliates by knocking him聽
out. After various memories flash before his eyes,聽聽
[714]
Remy is woken up by Beth, who had tased Jake and聽
now tells him they need to run because a repo聽聽
[719]
raid has arrived. They run through the building as聽
hundreds of debtors start getting shot, and when聽聽
[723]
they get stuck at a dead end, they're rescued by聽
Rhodesia, the leader of an underground residence聽聽
[728]
that drags them into a hidden room. When she聽
sees Remy's tattoo, she threatens to shoot him,聽聽
[732]
but he earns his stay when he shows her the scar聽
on his chest. Nightmares don't let Remy sleep,聽聽
[737]
so he goes out to check the damage, seeing all the聽
fallen bodies in the building, including Alva's.聽聽
[742]
The next day, he tells Beth there's no way聽
out for anyone no matter where they hide,聽聽
[746]
so what he wants to do is to finish this by going聽
to headquarters and wiping the entire system. Some聽聽
[750]
hours later, they meet with Carol and Peter on聽
the train, and an argument with Carol soon starts.聽聽
[756]
Peter takes his dad's taser and knocks her out聽
before Remy hands him his manuscript and tells him聽聽
[760]
to look for him in Punta del Este when he is old聽
enough. Remy and Beth wait for Frank in his car聽聽
[765]
and tase him before stealing his vehicle, which聽
they use to return to The Union's headquarters.聽聽
[769]
Remy tases two of the security guards and shoots聽
the third one, then uses Frank's eye to open the聽聽
[774]
door and get inside after shooting the security聽
camera. He and Beth rush inside and while trying聽聽
[778]
to avoid getting caught, end up entering a lab聽
filled with scientists working on artiforgs.聽聽
[783]
Most of them pay no attention to the couple, but聽
there's one that does get up and leaves through聽聽
[787]
a door. Remy tries to talk to him, but the guards聽
arrive then and start shooting indiscriminately,聽聽
[792]
killing some scientists in the process. Remy聽
and Beth leave through the same door the other聽聽
[796]
guy used and find the hallway with the entrance to聽
the Union's database, but it's being protected by聽聽
[800]
guards and repo men. A frantic battle starts then.聽
Beth defends herself by using a fire ax she gets聽聽
[806]
from the wall and Remy shoots the security guards聽
with his gun, which he drops after he's done to聽聽
[810]
grab his knives instead in order to fight the repo聽
men hand-to-hand. He kills most of them easily,聽聽
[815]
but when he finds himself on the floor surrounded聽
by them, he asks Beth to pass him the hacksaw and聽聽
[820]
uses it to finish the remaining men. Afterward,聽
they use Beth's prosthetic eye to open the door to聽聽
[825]
the database room and close it just in time before聽
Frank and Jake arrive. They discover the server's聽聽
[830]
only interface is an organ scanner, so the only聽
thing they can do is start cutting themselves up聽聽
[834]
and scan their artiforgs from inside. After taking聽
some of the red powder, they start the procedure,聽聽
[839]
first doing Remy's heart and after sealing his聽
wound, they do each of Beth's prosthetics as well.聽聽
[844]
By the time Jake and Frank manage to get inside by聽
using an artiforg from one of the dead repo men,聽聽
[849]
Remy is scanning the last of Beth's聽
organs. Frank orders Jake to finish them,聽聽
[853]
but when Remy says Beth's worth every job he's聽
ever done, Jake decides to help. He kills Frank聽聽
[858]
with his knife then hands Remy a syringe so聽
she can bring Beth back to consciousness,聽聽
[861]
and when the system asks for the scanned artiforgs聽
to be put on the computer's tray, Jake puts two聽聽
[866]
grenades in it and blows up the whole database.聽
Now every client is free. Sometime later, Remy,聽聽
[872]
Beth, and Jake are in Punta del Este, enjoying聽
the beach while listening to T-bone's last song.聽聽
[877]
Jake's gotten his tattoo removed, and his memoir聽
has been published by Peter under the name "The聽聽
[881]
Repossession Mambo". When Jake starts teasing聽
Remy for his book, he suddenly disappears,聽聽
[886]
and the sea flickers with static before going聽
back to normal. It is revealed then that Remy is聽聽
[890]
in a coma and he never woke up from the hit Jake聽
gave him on the metal bridge at Asbury's place.聽聽
[895]
It was Jake that used the artifogs from聽
that raid to pay for Remy's heart and a聽聽
[898]
connection to the neural network; he said his聽
goodbye to him before taking care of Beth and聽聽
[902]
finding Remy's manuscript in his bag. Now聽
Remy will be happy in his dreams forever.
