on duffy sean it's great to have you
[2]
back on what do you think of the house
[3]
now moving on with elise stefanik
[5]
leading the charge
[6]
against the buying agenda possibly
[8]
replacing liz cheney
[10]
well i think that liz cheney is going to
[11]
be out as a foregone conclusion i mean
[13]
liz janey
[14]
as a member of congress she can say
[15]
whatever she wants and
[17]
is held accountable to her constituents
[19]
however as the conference chair she's
[21]
put her interests over the interest of
[23]
the conference and she's created
[24]
real consternation with the republican
[26]
base and members of congress so i think
[28]
on tuesday liz
[29]
she is going to be voted out the next
[31]
week they'll probably come back
[33]
and have elections i think elise
[34]
stefanik is probably the top choice
[37]
uh this has been a position that a woman
[39]
has normally held
[40]
and so i imagine that elise smart
[43]
articulate
[44]
i have been supportive of the the
[45]
president's agenda will get the nod
[49]
and sean you know new yorker magazine
[50]
reporting that liz cheney quote secretly
[52]
orchestrated
[54]
an opinion piece in the washington post
[56]
earlier this year
[57]
from all 10 living former defense
[59]
secretaries slamming for
[61]
president trump that doesn't look good
[62]
for liz cheney i want to move on to this
[64]
the biden administration in order to pay
[66]
for his big spending
[68]
they're now talking about giving even
[70]
more power to the irs
[71]
to make banks a tool in the irs arsenal
[74]
it would force
[75]
banks possibly even brokerages to
[77]
automatically and directly report to the
[79]
irs
[80]
of the government all of their customers
[82]
money flows going in and out of all of
[84]
their bank accounts
[85]
and maybe brokerage accounts too we
[87]
we've never seen this before they
[89]
already get our wage information do they
[90]
need this information
[92]
would they get so much information in
[93]
1099s why do they need that
[96]
so listen we want everyone who owes
[97]
taxes to pay the tax bill that they owe
[100]
now we all want our taxes to be lower
[101]
but if you owe a bill
[102]
you should pay it but the fact that
[104]
they're going to go take all of this
[106]
information the inflow and outflow
[108]
of your bank information two two
[110]
questions come up number one
[112]
if you think back to barack obama what
[113]
the irs was doing with regard to the tea
[115]
party
[116]
and not giving them tax-exempt status
[118]
they play politics within
[120]
uh the irs number one but number two
[122]
that's a lot of personal private data
[124]
that
[124]
they're not equipped to hold and hold
[126]
securely so um i listen i think you have
[129]
a right to privacy
[130]
they don't have a place to to access all
[132]
this information and i think
[134]
banks should push back now they probably
[135]
won't but the american people should
[137]
push back
[137]
they get enough information on us and uh
[139]
we are entitled to just one little
[141]
sliverless
[142]
of a little bit of privacy and by the
[143]
way if they think we've avoided taxes
[145]
then go get our bank information but if
[147]
if i'm not a suspect of avoiding taxes
[150]
just don't automatically go tank take my
[152]
bank information i don't know what
[153]
you're going to use it for and i don't
[154]
trust you in the irs
[157]
yeah and you know you're right you make
[158]
an important point the irs has been
[160]
abused for political purposes
[162]
mostly ninety percent of the time by
[164]
democrats going back to fdr
[166]
happened under kennedy happened under
[168]
clinton and obama
[169]
and also the irs has been hacked before
[172]
so we got to watch this one and the
[173]
other thing too sean what do you think
[174]
of this
[175]
you know buying and democrats want
[176]
biden's infrastructure green new deal
[179]
to over overhaul the entire u.s economy
[181]
you probably saw this sean
[183]
china's greenhouse gas emissions now
[185]
exceed the
[186]
entire rest of the developed world
[188]
combined what do you think of that
[190]
well when i was in congress i talked
[192]
about this all the time if you care
[193]
about the environment and co2 emissions
[195]
then you care about putting america
[197]
first and making sure that we have rules
[199]
and regulations and taxes
[200]
that keep manufacturing in america not
[202]
only is it good for the american worker
[204]
because they have a job but if those
[206]
manufacturers leave america and go to
[208]
china
[209]
they don't do it as cleanly as we do
[210]
it's worse for the environment so
[212]
if you set up policies like what
[214]
happening right now with with
[215]
huge regulation and big taxes and
[217]
companies leave you see
[218]
far more output because they don't have
[220]
the rules and regulations in places like
[222]
china
[222]
and we live in a global environment
[224]
where we all share the pollution
[226]
from countries around the world so good
[228]
policy is
[229]
uh making sure that businesses stay
[231]
right at home here in america and don't
[232]
go to china
[234]
that's a good point and you know the
[235]
thing too i think half of china's energy
[237]
comes from coal
[238]
all right sean duffy always terrific to
[240]
have you on come back soon
[242]
thanks
