is an integral part

of so many retirement plans it's going

to be the primary income for so many

people

and people don't really understand how

it works just the benefit

of delaying payments from 62 to 70

can be so beneficial and there's so many

other claiming strategies

so athene is embarking on a journey

where we will be rolling out tools

training and some other content to help

advisors and producers

overall retirement plans and super

excited over the next few weeks and

you know i look having been a 35 year

veteran in the business and talked to a

lot of consumers over those years

um those that i have had conversations

with that are approaching retirement one

of the things that

always astounds me is you know they get

to like 64 and a half

and they suddenly realize wow you know i
[109]
don't know anything about social
[110]
security
[111]
and they're completely oblivious right

but hey segwaying to another topic

i did hear recently that athene had some

good news with regards to ratings
[121]
you know we did super proud just this
[123]
week hot off the presses the theme has
[124]
been upgraded to
[125]
a plus rating with s p and we continue
[128]
to enjoy our a rating with fitch and
[130]
ambest as well
[131]
so excited that we're getting some
[132]
recognition among the analysts
[134]
in the market as well for the
[136]
performance that athena's really

delivered over the last few years

very good you know um a little secret

out there i'm actually an athene annuity

policyholder well thanks for your

business

absolutely but i also heard that um you

know the volume
[149]
of annuity business going to athene has

been steadily increasing over the last
[154]
couple years good news in regard to that

as well indeed indeed as a matter of

fact uh 2020

athene took over as the number one fixed
[161]
index annuity carrier in the market
[164]
and that was something we had been
[166]
number one in the imo space but now
[167]
across all channels

athene was number one and continue to
[171]
maintain that through first quarter so

pretty proud of that pretty excited and

well deserved well thanks sir thank you

um athene has always had a fantastic

product and and speaking of products

certainly we can't do

one of these videos without touching a

bit on product i

understand that the theme just recently

rolled out or is in the process of
