[6]
Powell founder of real Vision if you
[10]
guys are interested we've got a link
[12]
down below for you guys can get a uh uh
[14]
one dollar you can get a trial for real
[16]
Vision so we'll have that link down
[18]
below for you guys highly suggested this
[21]
is I've actually known about you for a
[22]
while before you kind of got popular in
[24]
crypto
[26]
um but uh once again thanks for joining
[27]
us let's just get right back to where we
[28]
were Rel which is we were talking about
[31]
kind of this Trio of events that are
[33]
really a a Quattro of events I guess
[36]
that would be what if around the same
[39]
time we got the SEC case against the xrp
[42]
ending we got eth 2.0 the merge
[45]
occurring we've got uh Bitcoin ETF
[48]
approval and then let's just say
[49]
macroeconomically uh things are getting
[51]
better
[52]
this is what I've been thinking about we
[55]
we've fantasized right a lot of us have
[57]
fantasized about this hyper cycle this
[60]
hyper Bitcoin cycle like we've never
[61]
seen before to where you know maybe it
[63]
could go to a million dollars or an
[65]
insane amount do you think that if we
[67]
were to get those four events going
[69]
prices start getting back to all-time
[72]
highs and let's say we're around
[74]
all-time highs when the having occurs in
[77]
2024 what do you think that could do for
[80]
the Bitcoin price
[82]
I don't know because there's something
[83]
else going on which is dominance of
[85]
Bitcoin is going down over time
[87]
so Bitcoin is not the main show over
[91]
time what we're seeing is all these
[93]
other use cases as well that's coming
[94]
out of the crypto space so yeah look I
[98]
do think Bitcoin just continues to
[100]
accelerate I use the log channel
[102]
you know and it just does that it just
[104]
continues it works like magic and that's
[106]
what network adoption looks like so you
[108]
project it forwards in a few years time
[109]
it should be a million dollars that's
[111]
kind of all we need to know how it gets
[113]
there kind of irrelevant when you say
[116]
few years what time frame are you
[118]
targeting for that well if you just
[120]
extrapolate the log channel it's
[122]
something like three years oh wow yeah
[125]
three it could be it could be three it
[128]
could be five but you know not very long
[130]
right
[131]
um
[132]
but what's really interesting is what
[135]
else happens in that yeah because every
[138]
new phase there's a whole new set of
[140]
opportunities that we get given as the
[143]
market matures new things happen that's
[146]
what's really exciting to me the kind of
[148]
owning a Bitcoin and eth fine you just
[150]
keep hold of it whatever some xrp some
[153]
of this stuff no problem it's what else
[155]
goes on that's where really the
[157]
excitement lies the the unknown unknowns
[160]
if you will that's that I agree with you
[162]
because I've really been thinking a lot
[164]
about is is I told you in the first part
[166]
like I'm a big believer in the four-year
[168]
cycle and I believe we're in Bear Market
[170]
territory right now I'd like to see all
[172]
this stuff happen obviously while for me
[174]
it doesn't matter if it goes up in a
[175]
long or the short term obviously
[176]
audience they like when it goes up so I
[178]
would love to see a lot of these people
[179]
get to a different place financially
[180]
right yeah but you know the the
[182]
interesting thing is that I've really
[185]
been thinking about how now that I
[187]
believe we're in a bear Market I'm
[188]
reflecting back on the last bear market
[190]
and I'm reflecting on the things that I
[192]
was thinking back then that were like
[194]
fantasies almost like Amazon getting
[197]
into crypto or Facebook getting into
[198]
crypto or you know uh you know Goldman
[202]
Sachs getting into crypto and and we
[204]
look forward you know while all those
[206]
things exactly didn't happen pretty much
[207]
things like those happened everywhere to
[210]
where now like every company is having
[213]
to position a crypto strategy and that
[215]
is kind of what I saw coming why I went
[217]
you know all in on crypto in 2017. I saw
[220]
something bigger now I've been kind of
[222]
thinking like what are the next big
[224]
things like what four or five years from
[227]
now are we going to look back on and say
[229]
man we didn't see that coming what are
[232]
some Trends or something obviously what
[234]
do you think people are writing off the
[236]
web 2 platforms
[239]
like Facebook meta it's not going to
[241]
happen Twitter cut forward five years
[243]
they're gonna have web for integration
[244]
all of them
[246]
Facebook people have to understand is a
[249]
four billion person Network yeah
[252]
within five years we'll have also
[254]
launched the Central Bank digital
[255]
currencies whether they're private
[256]
sector ones like Circle that's my big
[258]
prediction yeah I agree yeah or whether
[261]
they're public ones maybe the ECB tries
[263]
to a public either way that's now given
[265]
everybody the on-ramp and off-ramp to go
[268]
into the digital world and that's
[270]
definitely coming
[271]
The Sovereign wealth funds so these are
[273]
the big pools of capital from wealthy
[276]
Nations
[277]
that's different to the central banks
[279]
reserves this is the The Wealth of
[281]
Nations that is coming because I know
[283]
because I'm speaking to them and I know
[284]
that they're doing it so that's coming
[287]
we also know that all of the investment
[289]
banks are now building out
[293]
um all sorts of products in the space
[295]
the ability for people to trade options
[297]
so that's all coming too we know there's
[301]
a whole raft of new investment
[303]
management products that's happening but
[305]
the big thing that just happened was 32
[307]
billion dollars last year went into VC
[310]
so here we are and you see it written on
[312]
Twitter is what you do in Bear markets
[314]
is build yeah absolutely this is when
[316]
you start building businesses and I'm
[317]
building two businesses in the space and
[319]
everybody's doing stuff
[321]
what's going to come out the other side
[323]
of this is wallets
[326]
Security in ways that you can't you know
[329]
it's so clunky right now it's terrified
[331]
moving money from your meta Master to
[333]
your Ledger and all of that that's all
[335]
going to get solved the wallet issue is
[337]
going to get solved Integrations
[339]
everywhere is going to get solved
[341]
that's all coming then we'll see I think
[344]
defy we saw the first wave everyone's
[347]
now learning building we've got another
[349]
wave of that to come
[351]
that's going to be interesting I think
[353]
nfts have barely started where that's
[355]
going as a space the use cases I think
[357]
all ticketing is going that way for
[359]
example you know because everything is a
[361]
proof of attendance protocol tickets and
[363]
all sorts of stuff is coming there and I
[365]
think the really big one that I talk
[367]
about all the time because I'm also
[368]
involved in building a business involved
[370]
in this is social tokens so we've barely
[373]
seen them yet so I talk about them
[374]
people I don't really know what you're
[375]
talking about board ape Yacht Club
[377]
Well yoga Labs amongst their three
[379]
projects had about an audience of about
[381]
call it 40 000 people
[384]
those 40 000 people owned a bunch of OG
[387]
assets
[388]
then they launch the ape token and the
[391]
ape token is worth three billion or four
[394]
billion dollars as of today
[396]
okay where the hell did that come from
[397]
four times the size of the original
[399]
assets it's because everybody wants to
[402]
be involved in that community and this
[403]
is your currency to be involved
[406]
and we haven't started where this is
[408]
going every sports team every massive
[412]
pop star every film movie franchise
[415]
fashion brand it's all going this way so
[418]
the nft craze we've got now cut four to
[421]
three years time and we're all going to
[423]
be talking whose networks do we own a
[425]
part of oh my god I've just discovered
[427]
this pop star they've just had a massive
[428]
number one hit single my tokens got up
[430]
300X that's the world we're going to go
[432]
to that's exciting that sounds fun
[434]
that's adrenaline right there now one
[436]
one thing that I mean you've met briefly
[438]
kind of touch on it with uh Google labs
[440]
and board API Club but not really you
[442]
know something that kind of is missing
[444]
from you know what you're talking about
[446]
here is uh metaverse like where do you
[449]
see metaverse playing into all this do
[451]
you think this is going to be as big as
[452]
other people think they're going to be
[453]
you think a coin is going to dominate
[455]
that kind of what are your ideas and and
[457]
you know obviously I think social tokens
[459]
would play a role in that as well yeah
[461]
so I think that metaverse is not one
[464]
place so it's just us getting more
[466]
digital like you and I would have done
[467]
this five years ago in person would have
[469]
had to book flights now we do it
[471]
digitally right so we're just used to
[473]
this so there's a bunch of experiences
[475]
that are being built now so this is like
[477]
the first website so
[479]
it started with decentralized
[481]
decentraland sandbox and those you know
[484]
own a bunch of those tokens
[486]
but they're very clunky in fact to be
[488]
honest they're [聽__聽] but
[490]
but people are still building in sandbox
[492]
because they think something different's
[493]
coming
[494]
then
[496]
we've seen what epic games has done in
[498]
the gaming world but we're not seeing
[499]
that in the crypto world because it's
[500]
not decentralized but then you've seen
[502]
what punk6529 has done with this open
[505]
metaverse built on that thing called on
[508]
Cyber and it's like this is a full
[511]
high resolution
[513]
web browser experience where you can put
[516]
it on your phone you can watch it on
[517]
that you can put on your iPad and it's
[519]
incredible I'm like okay that was a game
[522]
changer
[524]
and punk6529 saying well we'll just you
[527]
can build in there so you can build your
[528]
you know bit boy crypto community in
[531]
there show your nfts off all that stuff
[533]
for the community can do it and it's
[535]
free it's like okay this is really
[537]
interesting so metaverse is coming at us
[540]
fast
[541]
again it's one of those things that
[543]
people don't see it until it's in their
[545]
face yeah
[546]
but you know if if you and I talked
[549]
about this five years ago that you know
[550]
we're gonna have media businesses and we
[552]
just do it from our home
[554]
um by just using Zoom people thought
[557]
you're crazy no you need all these
[558]
cameramen and producers and all that you
[560]
don't need any of that well we were
[562]
talking about metaverse five years ago
[563]
we might be in Looney bins right now you
[565]
know like that's that's right because
[567]
snow crash is a book where it all came
[569]
from yeah everyone's like well that's
[570]
ridiculous yeah now we're so far away
[572]
we're here and now every brand you know
[575]
the my guess is you will go to more
[577]
concerts and sports events in the
[580]
metaverse than you will in real life
[582]
because it's easy much like we don't go
[585]
traveling as much to go meet people we
[587]
choose the ones we really want to go to
[589]
but others we could just dip in because
[591]
we use video yeah so metaverse is going
[593]
to be that well I think when you're
[595]
talking about
[597]
um you know I'm gonna add one additional
[599]
because I agree with everything you're
[600]
you're saying about you know what what
[602]
the future is going to look like in
[603]
crypto CBD sees being rampant in five
[606]
years I mean I that's something I
[608]
definitely believe it's coming a lot of
[610]
the other things I I would push back a
[612]
little bit on the on the meta and
[614]
Facebook and we can get to that in a
[616]
second but I would like to say one thing
[618]
I'd like to add goes hand in hand with
[620]
metaverse which is why I brought this up
[621]
is file storage coins because what
[625]
you're seeing is we don't have enough
[628]
bandwidth in the world available pretty
[630]
much to build all these metaverses at
[632]
the same time and to operate them and uh
[634]
we have a huge plot of land and um we
[637]
call it digital City in sandbox uh for
[639]
Big Boy crypto and we've got about half
[642]
of it built of our space and we still
[645]
have so much so I contacted our guy he
[647]
was like a professional Minecraft
[648]
builder you know I contacted uh the guy
[651]
and I was like you know I would like to
[653]
be able to go inside side and see the
[655]
land instead of you sending me
[656]
screenshots he said bro that you can't
[660]
buy a computer big enough for me to
[662]
transfer this to you so you can see it
[663]
and I was like wow now once it's
[666]
rendered once it becomes rendered now
[669]
it's playable and accessible but to get
[671]
into the builders you've got to have
[673]
like these super computers and you
[675]
certainly aren't transferring those
[676]
files to anybody else so I can see coins
[678]
like render coins like
[681]
um you know storage file coin obviously
[683]
the big player right now you know
[685]
anything that is extra bandwidth uh
[687]
Associated you know I I can I can see
[689]
that what are your thoughts on those
[691]
yeah I spoke to the head of metaverse
[694]
Amazon okay so he's the guy deals with
[697]
epic games and and Facebook and their
[700]
storage needs and their compute power
[702]
needs right they get it they're trying
[704]
to scale this I spoke to somebody from
[707]
Advanced Micro Devices you know the chip
[709]
manufacturer they're like we're trying
[711]
to solve this too by figuring out how we
[713]
can increase processing power then
[716]
there's a bunch of people working on
[717]
distributed computing power so how do we
[719]
just get that competing power using your
[721]
phone and my computer and whatever it is
[724]
my fridge
[725]
um trying to do that and then as you say
[727]
there's ways of using tokens to Define
[730]
that I mean my guess is you'll be able
[732]
to use the computing power in my Tesla
[735]
um you know within the next four years
[738]
um that I can get paid tokens for using
[740]
my computer because it sits in the
[741]
garage all night it's connected to the
[743]
internet and there's a very powerful
[745]
computer on it so yeah I think you're
[747]
right I think you're on to something
[748]
there that that
[750]
um all of this kind of way of solving
[752]
this is a big deal
[753]
well I think it's interesting like it's
[755]
so funny to me I go back still once
[757]
again go back four or five years ago
[758]
Iota is get you know is blowing up uh
[762]
but you know what we're talking about
[763]
these little micro transactions where
[765]
you're getting paid you know from your
[767]
devices for your extra bandwidth like
[769]
these are the ideas a lot of these
[771]
companies had a few years ago now I was
[773]
still around still growing European
[775]
Union is talking with them a little bit
[777]
uh but you know we're just now getting
[781]
to the place where some of this utility
[782]
is and we still not it might not be to
[784]
the next VC cycle right it shows actual
[787]
applications but it is coming because so
[790]
many people are working on these things
[792]
so yeah somebody will solve them and
[794]
then they'll get adopted
[795]
evolution of Technology that's what I
[797]
tell people I mean people say why why is
[799]
crypto going to make it why is it
[801]
because it's better than what we've had
[802]
like it's a better system therefore
[806]
technology will vote that in that's why
[808]
this happens and if it's not perfect now
[810]
it will get better over time because
[812]
everybody's incentivized to do so
[814]
absolutely so last thing I want to touch
[817]
on here I just want to like push back a
[819]
little bit on your uh you know web 2 uh
[822]
portrayal of meta
[823]
Facebook it's it's hard to just say meta
[826]
because we talk about metaverse so but
[827]
when I'm talking about meta talking
[828]
about the company Facebook basically uh
[831]
I I can't see them Bridge into web 3 and
[835]
into a decentralized world they've
[836]
already talked about creating their own
[838]
token now I'm not talking about Libra
[841]
like Libra and DM we know that's dead a
[843]
lot of pushback from the government on
[845]
that but creating their own token for
[847]
their internal metaverse which
[849]
supposedly is going to be called Zuck
[851]
box that may just be a working name but
[854]
it's not much different than V bucks on
[856]
fortnite it's a closed system you won't
[858]
be able to take them off so I just can't
[860]
see a world where Facebook who is whose
[864]
data and you know who's basically their
[866]
data theft in a lot of ways and stealing
[868]
our privacy has become their business
[870]
it's hard for me to imagine a world that
[873]
they can transition into web 3 and leave
[876]
that behind
[878]
um is there a way they can do both where
[880]
they can steal everybody's privacy I've
[882]
spoken I've spoken really really senior
[885]
people there and my guess is there is a
[889]
an internal discussion still there's a
[892]
whole group there's a large group of
[894]
people there who are really strong web
[895]
free
[896]
people in there like we need
[897]
decentralization we need
[900]
um interoperability of assets yeah
[903]
there are some people who want a more
[905]
protected world because they're
[907]
monetization I get it right because
[908]
people are paid on what they're paid on
[910]
and there's some guy who's going to be
[911]
paid some guy or girl is going to be
[913]
paid for Revenue that comes out of
[915]
advertising right and it's hard for them
[917]
to accept that they'd they'll be out of
[919]
a job if they change it
[922]
these people are smart they're really
[925]
really [聽__聽] smart people
[927]
I think the probability is much harder
[929]
than the market expects
[930]
that they figure this out
[932]
they're taking a massive BET right
[935]
Twitter's nowhere really in this yet but
[937]
they could get into this 200 has never
[939]
really been anywhere you know Google
[940]
Google have done nothing Google have
[943]
done nothing Apple don't really need to
[945]
they can accept tokens but that's it
[946]
doesn't really matter to them sure you
[948]
could have an apple coin but just it
[950]
doesn't but Facebook
[952]
I think I think there's a higher
[954]
probability Than People expect
[956]
and will it be perfect will it appease
[958]
the true decentralist no will it bring a
[962]
billion people into crypto and digital
[965]
assets yes that's why I care about it I
[967]
don't care about perfection I care about
[969]
the adoption of this technology makes
[972]
perfect or imperfect will lead to better
[974]
outcomes in the end because as you said
[975]
it's an iterative process of improvement
[977]
so if you start with a Facebook nft but
[981]
you can move it around and do something
[983]
with it
[984]
you're in the game now yeah and you're
[986]
learning about the value of this stuff
[988]
well I think I think that's great I I
[991]
personally would think
[993]
you know I I've been watching this uh
[995]
you know the show the HBO show about
[998]
Uber I think it was HBO uh and how
[1001]
basically you know the company gets
[1003]
stolen from the CEO the founder and he's
[1006]
a bad guy anyways you don't really like
[1008]
him you know I I could kind of see a
[1010]
scenario where maybe Zuck at some point
[1012]
gets forced out of Facebook you know I
[1013]
don't know what it would take for that
[1015]
to happen but for a lot of people to
[1017]
come back to Facebook and to ever trust
[1019]
it again I almost think that's what you
[1021]
know would happen so it'd be really
[1022]
interesting to see that in the future
[1023]
but Ralph thank you so much for joining
[1026]
us this has been fascinating interview I
