Roth IRA everything you need to know to understand聽 open and fund as well as invest your accounts聽聽
[59]
the roth ira it's one of a kind people聽 love it for its tax free withdrawals聽聽
[64]
here's how it works you put money into the聽 account it's tax today it grows tax-free聽聽
[71]
and you take it out tax free it sounds聽 great but if you want a tax deduction聽聽
[76]
on your tax return for the year that you聽 contribute you won't get it with the roth ira聽聽
[81]
the roth ira is designed so that money is paid聽 the money that you earned taxes are paid today聽聽
[88]
so that you can contribute and take money out聽 later tax-free on future withdrawals roth iras聽聽
[95]
they are best when you think that your taxes will聽 be higher near retirement or during retirement聽聽
[100]
and what would cause this a couple of things聽 you expect to be earning more money when you are聽聽
[106]
working later in life or maybe you plan to work聽 past age 65 70 your taxes will be higher or you聽聽
[113]
expect or anticipate a significant inheritance聽 which would also push up your tax bracket聽聽
[120]
if you're thinking oh bummer i really聽 want to get that tax deduction this year聽聽
[124]
and maybe you didn't earn as much income as you聽 did the year previous or you plan to make in the聽聽
[128]
future the roth ira may be a really really great聽 choice for you and here's why it gives you choice聽聽
[134]
during retirement years later down the road even聽 if you think i can only put a thousand dollars or聽聽
[140]
a couple thousand dollars into a roth ira and聽 you qualify stay tuned you have to qualify to聽聽
[145]
contribute to a roth ira i'm going to go over聽 that in just a minute roth iras are different聽聽
[149]
than traditional iras because you don't have to聽 take money out of the roth ira you're not required聽聽
[156]
with the traditional ira you're required to聽 take money out at age 72 it's also known as聽聽
[162]
rmd required minimum distribution so the roth ira聽 definitely gives you more choice going towards聽聽
