I'm Jamie Lee with ourchurch.com and I'm
[2]
a professional parrot trainer who loves
[3]
what I do my goal with these videos is
[5]
to answer any and all questions para
[7]
donors have above their beloved
[8]
feathered kids ask away and I'll try to
[10]
keep up see you burn my videos you want
[12]
to see more of let me know and I'll
[13]
feature that number even more
[17]
alright so this question came with the
[20]
request that bandit was here so here's
[23]
bandit and the question is how do I
[26]
build trust back with my bird after
[27]
neglecting him for so long he bites when
[29]
I tell him to step up a lot of birds
[33]
this is like super common with first if
[34]
you neglect them for a long amount of
[36]
time they hold it against you they kind
[39]
of pulled a grudge and they're mad at
[41]
you so their way of communicating the
[43]
fact that they're mad at you is through
[44]
a bite little powdery and bandit will
[48]
actually let me know through a bite if
[50]
I'm doing something wrong for instance
[52]
if I walk into the aviary and say hi to
[54]
somebody else before him how picky is
[57]
that so anyways it's super common for
[61]
birds can utilize chill-out Fidelio okay
[66]
you want to know what he's doing right
[67]
now seriously
[69]
I have another video of this just for
[71]
you
[72]
every time Dave is in the bathroom
[74]
bandit likes to watch seriously and
[78]
these just blow drying his hair so it's
[80]
not like anything gross but I'm going to
[81]
show you because realtor David that's
[85]
where he went
[87]
and I'm gonna prove to you that dave is
[89]
in there because you only doesn't want
[91]
things there yeah
[94]
bandit why do you spy on Dave all the
[97]
time somebody requested to see you and
[100]
this is what you're doing okay so anyway
[103]
so I'm gonna go back to answering your
[105]
question which is so distracting it was
[111]
such a bad idea to say I can include
[113]
Birds news videos because now I remember
[114]
why I wasn't anyways what you can do to
[118]
build your trust back of your bird is
[120]
start training like start trick training
[122]
teacher bird something new because
[123]
that's offering attention in a way
[125]
that's also diverting his attention so
[127]
he'll kind of forget that he's mad at
[129]
you at the time and he'll really be
[130]
focused on the training which is also
[132]
building a bottom of your bird so in
[134]
turn it's doing everything that you want
[136]
if your bird starts to get aggressive or
[139]
starts to get sick of the training you
[141]
always want to end the training session
[142]
before your bird does so don't get too
[145]
excited and over ambitious and keep the
[146]
training sessions going forever it
[148]
should only be between like 2 minutes
[151]
and 15 minutes at the high end 15
[153]
minutes but anyways so if your bird
[157]
starts to get upset about it or starts
[159]
to show signs of aggression just bring
[161]
out the touch training stick and get him
[163]
to go back into his cage or have him end
[165]
on a really good behavior and then put
[167]
him back just to let him know that when
[169]
he starts to get like that there's no
[171]
more attention time which is what he
[172]
wants so as long as he doesn't want to
[174]
go back into his cage make sure that if
[176]
he starts to show signs that you don't
[178]
like that that means that he's going
[180]
away from here which is probably what he
[182]
doesn't watch this is taking it
[184]
so just be careful if that is what your
[186]
bird wants then obviously don't give it
[188]
but always I'm on a good note and trick
[190]
training is just another way to build
[192]
the bond with your bird and it is such a
[194]
good way to do it you can also do flight
[196]
training but if your burns aggressive
[198]
and looking for ways to bite you that
[200]
could just be giving him an outlet to do
[202]
so and the flights could be basically
[205]
him attacking you so depending on how
[207]
aggressive your birds being about about
[210]
everything will determine on what you
[211]
want to work on but trick training is a
[213]
really good basic thing to work on that
[215]
shouldn't allow him to get too
[217]
aggressive with things especially if
[218]
you're working with objects so I would
[221]
suggest doing that with your bird and
[224]
I'll feature bandit one more time since
[227]
he was supposed to be in this video the
[229]
whole time that he's spying on on Dave
[232]
still there's big big bandit me and a
[237]
boy you're just gonna stay up there I
[241]
should have done this when they was out
[243]
of the shower
[246]
hope this was exactly what he wanted
[249]
sorry the bird didn't stay here long
[250]
time that's birds oh yeah
