Hi my name is Tony Law from Your First Four Houses.
[3]
Today I'd like to share with you five completely free apps that I use in my property business
[9]
every single day.
[11]
But before I get into that, I'd like to share with you a freebee that I've put together
[15]
for you.
[16]
Over the last couple of days I've listed out every single property related website, tool,
[23]
and app that I'm aware of in the hope that they will be of benefit to you.
[27]
You can have those completely for free.
[30]
All you've got to do is click on the link and I'll send that straight out to you.
[35]
Okay so let's get into it.
[37]
Let me share with you 5 completely free apps that I use every day in my business.
[44]
So I've got to kick this off really with the one app that I almost don't think I could
[57]
live without and I'm sure many of you are already aware of it and that is Trello.
[61]
Go to Trello.com and you'll see it there.
[64]
This is essentially a collaboration tool.
[67]
It was designed originally to enable different people to kind of work together, and of course
[71]
it's brilliant at that.
[73]
But even if you're just using it as a standalone system, it's a way of kind of throwing down
[78]
your ideas, of kind of moving things around, managing different projects.
[83]
This kind of thing.
[84]
It consists of boards, and you can have as many boards as you want.
[88]
Essentially 1 board per project or concept.
[91]
On the board you have lists, and on those lists you have cards.
[95]
Check it out, it's a fantastic tool.
[97]
I know that once you start to use it, really, I bet you can't be without it.
[104]
If you speak to most people they've heard of Evernote but I have to say I've never been
[108]
the biggest fan.
[109]
What I prefer is Microsoft OneNote.
[111]
I guess in many ways it's similar to Evernote, but I much prefer the interface, the way that
[117]
you actually use it.
[119]
Just like Evernote you can use it for noting down pretty much anything that you want.
[124]
You can use a write on it especially if you're using a tablet.
[127]
It's a brilliant way of just being your general storage area for data, images, photos, pretty
[134]
much anything that you want.
[135]
It's again, like everything else I'm sharing today, completely free.
[139]
If you've not used it before, or especially if you're an Evernote user, I'd love you to
[145]
check it out.
[146]
It's Microsoft OneNote.
[150]
This is a bit of an unusual one.
[152]
Grammarly is something that I discovered about 6 months ago.
[155]
Actually I find it a fantastic little tool.
[158]
What it does essentially, if you can imagine it's a kind of glorified spell checker, but
[163]
actually there's a whole grammatical component to it.
[166]
So I write a lot of documents, a lot of letters, a lot of emails every single day.
[171]
Grammarly checks, not just the spelling, but also the general grammar.
[175]
Are the commas there?
[177]
are the apostrophes there?
[179]
It seems silly but actually it makes a huge difference to me.
[182]
I know that once I send out that document, it's been checked not just visually by me,
[187]
not read through by me, but also just checked by this little app and every single time I
[192]
use it it picks out one or two minor errors that I've overlooked.
[196]
So you got to check that out.
[198]
Just like everything else, I'll put that in a link in the box below.
[202]
Now I know the first time that you see Workflowy you're going to say, why on earth has you
[206]
recommended this?
[208]
It's a very dry, bland looking little app.
[211]
It doesn't look anything special.
[213]
But don't let that mislead you.
[215]
It is hugely powerful.
[218]
Essentially it's a kind of bulleted list.
[220]
Now the way that we tend to think, often with wanting to flow down specific points when
[226]
we're thinking through an idea or a concept.
[228]
That is what I use Workflowy for.
[231]
Whenever I'm planning out any talks like for example what I'm doing here today.
[235]
I throw the bullet points down initially in Workflowy and it helps me plan and move things
[240]
around.
[242]
Just like Trello, you can actually share various bits of Workflowy.
[248]
If you want to just share very specific areas on it, you can do that with other people so
[252]
they can collaborate as well.
[254]
A very simple little app, doesn't look like it's very much, but hugely powerful.
[258]
You've got to check it out.
[260]
Last but not least I'd like to share Doodle with you.
[265]
Now I don't know about you but I organize various different meetings and conference
[270]
calls.
[271]
In the past I've found it very challenging.
[275]
Let me give you a scenario.
[277]
Let's imagine I'm trying to grab 5 people together at the same time.
[280]
I speak to person 1, 2, 3, and 4.
[283]
We'd all agree dates and times.
[284]
That's great.
[285]
I speak to person 5 and they can't make that date or time.
[288]
So I have to go back to person 1, 2, 3, and 4.
[291]
Doodle eliminates that problem straight away.
[294]
What I do is I specify a whole load of dates and times that I know I can make.
[299]
I then use Doodle to send that all to all of the participants I want to engage with,
[304]
and they fill in their dates and times that they can make.
[309]
Doodle then gets that information and it comes up with 1 or 2 or 3 dates and times that works
[314]
for everybody.
[316]
If you're like me, organizing either conference calls or getting together with other people,
[322]
and you want to really minimize the amount of time you spend doing this, I can't recommend
[326]
Doodle highly enough.
[327]
It's made a huge difference to me.
[330]
There you go.
[332]
There's the 5 free apps I want to share with you today.
[335]
They're all really powerful tools in their own right.
[339]
If you're not familiar with any of them I really encourage you to go check them out.
[344]
But I'd also very strongly encourage you to click on that link so that I can share with
[349]
you every tool, app, website that I use in my property business.
[355]
I know that you're going to gain massively from that.
[359]
Simply click on that link and that is yours.
[361]
One final thing.
[362]
If you would do me a huge favour and subscribe, I would love that.
[367]
That way I can make sure that you're kept fully up to date when a new video becomes
[370]
available it goes straight to you.
[373]
If you could like this video that would be brilliant, and if you could share this video,
[377]
that would be absolutely wonderful.
[379]
My name is Tony Law from Your First Four Houses.
[381]
I hope you found this useful, and I look forward to seeing you in the next video.
[389]
Thank you.
