[12]
subscribe so I'm a big gamer and the
[16]
video game industry is massive and is
[19]
growing very fast and it has been for
[22]
decades now more and more people play
[25]
video games and more and more people
[26]
have access to them in the first place
[29]
beat on a PC on a gaming console on a
[33]
mobile on a tablet whatever you may be a
[36]
lot of people are playing them so before
[40]
I get into how you can invest in this
[42]
business let's look at some of the
[44]
numbers
[45]
so despite pretty much everyone playing
[47]
video games
[48]
it is only a 100 billion dollar industry
[51]
as of 2017 but it's pretty projected to
[55]
grow at about 7% every year which make
[59]
meets its gotta top one hundred thirty
[61]
billion dollars by 2030 so that's
[65]
thirteen years from now and the video
[69]
game sales sales themselves which
[72]
doesn't account for all of the 100
[75]
billion dollar revenue but it's the main
[78]
parts of it and the gaming cells are
[80]
distributed forty percent on mobile 30
[85]
percent on consoles and the rest thirty
[88]
percent is on PC so that's a laptop or a
[92]
desktop PC and other revenue sources are
[96]
obviously a hardware which I'm gonna get
[98]
into later and you obviously have
[100]
eSports conventions and cosplays which
[104]
are sort of turning the video game
[106]
industry into something more of a
[110]
cultural phenomenon where a lot of
[113]
people get involved even though they
[115]
don't play a lot of video games they
[118]
might be watching they might be buying
[120]
merchandise or they might be watching is
[124]
bought without actually playing the
[126]
video games themselves so let's have a
[129]
look at the companies actually making
[131]
and publishing the video games
[133]
themselves
[135]
now do keep in mind a lot of mobile game
[137]
developers are not public traded
[139]
companies so they will not be included
[141]
in this list so you're gonna have the
[144]
tickers here the name of the company and
[147]
the most popular video games from each
[149]
company so there are they are almost in
[153]
this order in terms of gaming cells
[155]
sales so we're starting off with
[158]
Activision Blizzard which are behind
[160]
Call of Duty World of Warcraft
[163]
hearthstone candy crush overwatch Diablo
[167]
all the biggest games Electronic Arts
[170]
are behind FIFA the sins and Mass Effect
[174]
as well as the Star Wars game they have
[177]
the license from Disney to make all the
[179]
Star Wars games take-two interactive are
[182]
behind GTA that's Grand Theft Auto NBA
[188]
Borderlands Red Dead Redemption and
[191]
civilization and many other games
[195]
Ubisoft behind assassin's creed the the
[199]
Tom Clancy series as well as watchdogs
[202]
Nintendo are behind Mario Zelda and
[206]
obviously the Pokemon games a Nintendo
[209]
also sells the consoles so that's mainly
[212]
now Wii U and the Nintendo switch Sony
[217]
which also makes the PlayStation 4 are
[220]
also behind Gran Turismo Uncharted and
[224]
they published the God of War video
[226]
games so these are the premier video
[230]
game publishers you can call them the
[232]
blockbusters of the gaming industry and
[236]
I forgot to mention that in terms of
[238]
eSports it's mostly Activision Blizzard
[241]
who are involved they do have their own
[243]
eSports to do so do do keep that in mind
[247]
now I am personally invested in both
[250]
Activision Blizzard and take-two
[252]
interactive so do keep that in mind
[255]
before we move on to the gaming hub now
[257]
let's move on to the gaming hardware
[260]
companies now again these companies
[262]
doesn't only make money from the
[265]
but it's a decent chunk of their
[268]
revenues and now this is the equipment
[270]
needed to play video games or get the
[275]
most out of your video games either on a
[278]
console or a desktop not so much for
[281]
mobile so do keep that in mind
[284]
again tickers name of the company main
[287]
product lines so we're gonna start off
[289]
with NVIDIA super hot company right now
[291]
they make the default graphic arts GPUs
[295]
and the shield gaming console and
[298]
controllers Intel Corporation massive
[301]
company they make the icon processors
[306]
lots of chips for your computer desktop
[309]
they redistribute desktop and they also
[312]
have their own eSports league Intel
[316]
Intel Extreme Masters AMD have the Rison
[322]
processors and the Radian graphic arts
[325]
this is a pretty pure play they make
[327]
high-end PC desktop hardware so very
[332]
pure company they're a bit smaller than
[335]
these two logitech logitech makes all
[338]
gaming accessories everything you use
[342]
when you sit by your computer so that's
[344]
my mouse keyboard headsets etc and then
[350]
you have recently Razer listed on the
[354]
Hong Kong Stock Exchange so if you're
[357]
able to trade all that you can check for
[359]
the symbol eat or 1337 Razer makes the
[365]
same as Logitech a little bit more
[367]
high-end a little bit more expensive
[369]
they make obviously mouse keyboard
[370]
headsets mouse pads screens you name it
[375]
so this is a way to play gaming I would
[380]
say this is a less pure video game play
[384]
than the publishers because these
[386]
companies makes you know chips for all
[389]
sorts of machines not just computers but
[392]
also robots so they don't make most of
[395]
their money from
[397]
Gaming so that's my overview of the
[401]
gaming industry now if you won't bring
[404]
about eSports or cosplay of or all these
[406]
things there isn't really many companies
[410]
you can invest in which makes their
[413]
money from these things so it's mostly
[418]
gonna be the video game publishers who
[420]
are gonna benefit from them because
[423]
they're basically just promoting video
[425]
games where whatever a game it might be
[428]
and eSports as well it just promotes
[432]
video games and gaming hardware so
[435]
eSports in itself is not very easy to
[438]
invest in there the closest would be
[440]
Activision Blizzard and I guess Logitech
[443]
and Razer and the rest of these
[445]
companies are usually sponsors at these
[447]
events so I think you readers should
[450]
take a hard look at the gaming industry
[452]
I think it's very negative it's very
[455]
large and it's growing really fast and
[458]
some of the companies aren't great they
[460]
have very high margins they have good
[462]
brands they have strong intellectual
[464]
properties so there is a lot of money to
[467]
be made now again I hope you found this
[469]
helpful check out the rest of my channel
[472]
if you want to know more about investing
[473]
