what's up guys i just wanted to do a

quick video talking about the website

stocktwits.com it's like twitter

for financial markets exclusively and

it's a great way of tracking trending

stocks

also it's a great way of just keeping up

with people's opinions
[15]
and real-time data about specific stocks

so i want to just share my my high level

understanding of this of this website

i'm not going to pretend to be an expert

and ways that it's helped me in the past

so if you're interested let's get

so here i am at stocktwits.com of course

i'll put a link in the description

and this is the homepage the homepage

will give you some generic

high-level real-time information but

this is not really how i use the website

i'll be honest there's really two ways i

might use the website

i will look at the trending now stocks

often

and from there you know and this isn't

typically how i honestly come in i

usually come in like i go to google i

type in the ticker name

and then i type space stock twits so i

might do like

tsla space stock twits and then google

take me

to straight to the page but also if you

want to see what's trending

you know go ahead look at the top of the

homepage and

for instance if i want to click tesla

you will notice

how it's been trading today you will

notice like

message volume which is typically a good

indicator of sentiment

and also this is just one of these

things that i've kind of thought in the

back of my head for a while is that most

people don't know how to short stocks

and when you consider that with the out

of sight out of mind principle like out

of sight out of mind

insight in mind so if you can see

message volume it means people are

thinking about it

and if most people don't know how to

short then

most people are thinking about it most

people are probably long

might go up right i'm just i know that's

simple simplistic way of thinking

but am i wrong tell me in the comments

below if i'm wrong right most people do

not know how to short you might know how

to short but most people don't

and in that case if you can measure

message volume which is an indicator of

sentiment in my mind like at least

people are thinking you know they're

thinking

then it might be an indicator that you

know things might

things might um yeah and people talking

about the valuations notice he didn't

tag himself as bearish there

so this is what's cool you can scroll

down you see the feed and uh

essentially like you can see the you can

what people are thinking you can see the

price action here

um you can see people a lot of doing

really good chart analysis

as well um that's some crazy gaps there

gaps do tend to get filled but

and the rsi they're looking at the rsi

like man this is in overbought territory

but it takes people with um real stones

to short tesla

anyways you don't need to read every

single thing but like

twitter let's be honest like twitter's

got a lot going on twitter's more of a

like in my mind a political you place

you go for politics

in a place you go to like talk to you

know trash talk athletes that made your

fantasy football team lose right

that's that's my world anyways i think

it's a lot of politics that go on on

twitter

here it's nice that you know at least

we know it's finances it's financial

markets etc

and um you can comment you know you can

reply you can thumbs up

it's a good way of just getting like

real-time information about a

a stock so there's not really any like

secrets to using stock twits

it's just a good place to measure what

people are thinking about

certain companies certain um trading you

know price action recently

because sometimes they want they just go

there to say this is way oversold or

they go there and say this is way
[217]
overbought and then the smart people
[219]
will come in with charts and
[220]
drawing like resistance levels and
[221]
whatnot like there was somebody one week

ago it may have actually been two weeks
[224]
ago but either way they had

posted a chart on stock twits showing

tesla price action
[229]
going back over a year and there was
[231]
this one trend line that

you probably wouldn't have projected
[235]
that would come into play

a year later because it was based on a
[240]
rapid ascent

followed by a decent in tesla price

but if you extended it out it had

actually tagged that line one other time

and fallen again and then now we came up
[252]
and tagged it a third time and i was
[253]
like

if it tags that line it's probably gonna
[255]
drop and i was like do i short tesla do
[257]
i short tesla told my friends like i'm
[258]
gonna short tesla
[260]
and i didn't have the stones to do it
[261]
but as soon as it tagged that line
[264]
it fell like 60 or maybe even 80 points
[267]
like immediately
[268]
and it proceeded to bounce back in the
[270]
same day so i mean it was like
[271]
it was a friday too so i mean you could
[272]
make some money there but i mean it
[274]
tanked
[275]
immediately sold off hardcore and then
[277]
came right back so

one of those things that like tesla's
[280]
just a crazy stock man um

you guys already know that uh and we

don't this wasn't a tesla video but it's
[285]
just interesting that like i looked at

stock twits
[287]
someone was on their game and they
[289]
showed that line and they didn't say
[291]
anything
[292]
but anybody was looking was like what
[293]
happened the last couple times to tag
[294]
that line
[295]
tank you know the same way that like
[297]
there's the s p 500
[298]
trendline going back to like 2007 i
[300]
think and
[302]
what happened right before the uh
[303]
february march
[305]
um crash right tagged that line and then
[308]
immediately boom instant sell-off
[310]
so anybody who really was paying
[311]
attention maybe would have known to like

enter their short positions there so

anyways just wanted to share this with

you guys stock twit's a pretty useful

tool

if you didn't know about it definitely

spend some time

clicking around familiarizing yourself

with it

you know it's a good place to just learn

from other people a lot of the people

don't know anything either

so but you can post memes you can post

funny gifs um you get a mix of
