5 Explosive Digital Marketing Strategies for 2023 (BIG Changes Ahead!) - YouTube

Channel: Wes McDowell

[0]
it's 2023 and the way you'll Market your
[3]
business this year is going to be really
[5]
different from how you've done it in the
[6]
past there are so many new opportunities
[9]
that just hit the scene and I'm about to
[11]
show you the most powerful marketing
[13]
strategies that you can use in 2023 to
[16]
take your business from this to this now
[20]
modern marketing really falls into five
[21]
big buckets or categories so we'll dive
[24]
into each one and I'm going to share
[26]
with you the single thing that's working
[28]
best right now for each along with
[30]
actionable tips that you can use to
[32]
bring them to life so let's just start
[34]
with our first bucket content marketing
[36]
if you want to create content that's
[37]
going to really make an impact this year
[39]
and for the foreseeable future it's all
[42]
about short form vertical video so I'm
[45]
talking Tick Tock Instagram reels and
[48]
YouTube shorts when Tick Tock took the
[50]
World by storm toward the beginning of
[52]
the pandemic not only did it resonate
[54]
big time with cooped up viewers but it
[57]
also got plenty of attention from other
[59]
social media apps first Instagram ripped
[62]
it off I mean was inspired by its
[64]
success their CEO Adam Missouri actually
[66]
came right out and said last year we're
[69]
no longer a photo sharing app because
[71]
let's be honest there's some really
[73]
serious competition right now Tick Tock
[75]
is huge how do we Embrace video more
[78]
about
[79]
full screen immersive entertaining
[81]
mobile first video next YouTube made
[84]
their play by introducing shorts and
[86]
whenever these major players roll out
[88]
new features they're gonna incentivize
[90]
you to use them with more views which
[93]
brings more visibility and more
[95]
engagement and if this were last year I
[98]
might be telling you to be a little
[99]
skeptical about going all in on this
[102]
trend simply because they were so new
[104]
and they may not last well I'm not
[107]
telling you that this year short form
[108]
video looks like it's here to stay and
[111]
it's probably your best bet for those
[113]
higher levels of Engagement and to be
[115]
remembered by your target audience and
[118]
if you're worried this will only attract
[119]
genzirs that's not necessarily the case
[122]
first of all tick tock's user base is
[124]
aging up with 53 of its users now over
[128]
the age of 30 plus when you post those
[131]
same videos as reels on Instagram you're
[134]
able to reach an even more mature
[136]
audience so let's talk about what you
[138]
should post and how often to get you the
[140]
best results even if you don't
[141]
necessarily want to go on camera
[144]
yourself so first of all Studies have
[146]
shown that if you really want to grow on
[148]
these platforms you need to commit to at
[150]
least one video per day to prove how
[153]
powerful daily reels can be Instagram
[155]
expert Dominic Rieger challenged five
[157]
random students of his to do just that
[160]
and the ones who actually stuck with it
[162]
for 60 days saw their follow accounts
[165]
explode to over 34 000 people but the
[169]
Slackers who only posted once per week
[171]
grew by about 40 followers so elephant
[175]
in the room time now but Wes how can I
[178]
possibly produce and post a video every
[181]
single day it doesn't have to be as hard
[183]
as you think so my first piece of advice
[184]
don't be precious about the production
[187]
value in other words your videos don't
[189]
have to look like oscar-winning
[191]
masterpieces it's really not about that
[193]
videos that look like this work
[195]
perfectly well and there are actually a
[197]
few types of videos that you can can
[199]
churn out with really minimal planning
[201]
and effort here are a few ideas to get
[203]
you started so you can create videos
[205]
that offer a quick tip advice a process
[209]
you use a surprising statistic related
[212]
to your Niche a product you love a book
[214]
you recommend or a tool that you can't
[216]
live without and you can present any of
[218]
these ideas in any number of ways you
[220]
can do a talking straight to camera or
[222]
with some related point of view video in
[225]
the background and text on screen or
[227]
even with the green screen feature and
[229]
the way this works best is if you could
[231]
just put aside a Time block of a few
[233]
hours every week to work on batching all
[236]
the videos for the following week and I
[238]
know it sounds like a lot of work here
[240]
but at the end of the day these videos
[242]
are all super short like 7 to 30 seconds
[245]
and when you consider that you can reuse
[248]
them on three major platforms the
[251]
exposure you can get is well worth it
[253]
let's get to our next bucket search
[255]
engine marketing so if you want to get
[257]
found in search this year there there's
[259]
a brand new Google Update that you need
[261]
to know about they're calling it their
[262]
helpful content update and since this is
[265]
so new I had a bunch of questions about
[266]
it for one of my go-to SEO experts Ricky
[270]
Kessler from income school so Ricky what
[272]
exactly is this new helpful content
[274]
algorithm update all about the helpful
[277]
content update really if you ask me is
[279]
all about trying to get back to content
[281]
that was written for people for years
[283]
and years and years now people have
[285]
really focused on written content that
[288]
tries to optimize for the algorithm
[290]
that's what SEO is Right optimizing for
[293]
the search engine so knowing that what
[295]
are a few actionable things that
[296]
business owners can do with their
[298]
websites if they want to rank in Google
[300]
search in 2023 we need to think about
[302]
what is the intent of the user when they
[305]
do a search that should land them on
[307]
your sales page so what we would want on
[309]
there is answers to the questions that
[311]
people are likely searching we want to
[313]
make sure that those are clearly covered
[315]
so it sounds like we just need to be
[316]
super complete on our important SEO page
[318]
is right like how do we make sure our
[321]
visitors aren't left with questions that
[324]
they need to keep searching for on our
[325]
competitors websites so on a sales page
[328]
you know FAQs specs the pricing making
[332]
sure that we're answering the questions
[333]
people are searching for on a home page
[335]
ideally we'd like to be ranking for the
[338]
type of service we're offering and so
[339]
what we need to be doing is thinking
[342]
through what are the search queries that
[343]
people are searching and then we create
[345]
the most helpful content that answers
[347]
that I'll give an example for a local
[349]
based business I had a physical
[351]
therapist that I was working with he
[353]
found out that there was like no content
[355]
around how much does physical therapy
[356]
cost in his particular location and so
[359]
he wrote content just clearly answering
[362]
that question not just how much his
[364]
service costs but how much it costs in
[366]
the area and sort of what you get at the
[369]
different price levels and the cool
[371]
thing about this update is it generally
[373]
means that you can create fewer pages
[375]
and posts so in 2023 just go all in in
[379]
on a handful of your most important ones
[381]
remember going deep in a few key places
[384]
is going to get you better results than
[386]
going shallow and Broad okay time for
[389]
our next strategy under the bucket of
[391]
social media marketing we have the rise
[393]
of user generated content otherwise
[396]
known as having influencers create stuff
[399]
on social for you and influencers bring
[402]
a lot of benefits with them in fact 61
[405]
of viewers actually trust the product
[408]
recommendations they get from the
[410]
influencers they follow now compare that
[412]
to only 38 that will trust social media
[416]
content put out by you as a business and
[419]
that's why this is such a big
[421]
opportunity for 2023 but before you
[423]
write this off is too expensive or too
[426]
hard to coordinate that is what this tip
[428]
is going to solve trust me this makes it
[430]
incredibly easy and streamlined and
[433]
really fairly hands off actually thanks
[434]
to tick tock's Creator Marketplace tick
[437]
tock's not only the fast destroying
[439]
social platform and like I said it's
[441]
aging up every day but with their career
[444]
Marketplace you can find the right
[445]
influencers at any budget you can
[448]
negotiate terms and get them started all
[451]
through the platform you don't have to
[452]
search for the contact info then email
[454]
them or DM them like you used to nobody
[457]
has time for all that but
[459]
it works through the Creator Marketplace
[461]
once you set up your account you can
[463]
start to use the filters they've got for
[464]
you to find the best influencers for
[467]
your audience you can filter things like
[469]
the country they're in or better yet the
[471]
country or region Their audience is in
[473]
follower accounts average views per
[476]
video or engagement rate and believe it
[479]
or not sometimes you'd actually want to
[481]
go for people with lower follower
[483]
accounts because generally speaking the
[485]
what we call Nano influencers who have
[488]
smaller followings of one to ten
[490]
thousand have much higher engagement
[492]
rates to put this in context the average
[494]
Nano influencers engagement rate is
[497]
right around 5.6 percent as opposed to
[500]
2.15 percent for those mid-tier
[503]
influencers or 1.19 for those Mega
[507]
influencers but you probably can't
[509]
afford a Kardashian anyway so let's just
[511]
keep things realistic here and where it
[513]
gets really interesting is you can
[515]
filter it down by topics these
[516]
influencers focus on as of right now
[519]
this isn't a really exhaustive list so
[521]
this will probably only be a viable
[523]
option for you if your business has a
[526]
fairly broad appeal and if you can
[528]
narrow your audience based on these
[529]
really high level interests and basic
[532]
demographics like age gender and
[534]
location and this is actually pretty
[536]
cool it lets you filter by fast growing
[538]
creators only which is one of the things
[540]
you'd actually want to be looking for
[543]
when you're choosing someone but you can
[545]
start seeing their prices right away and
[547]
you can see what their typical content
[549]
looks like I do recommend checking out
[551]
each profile before reaching out to them
[553]
to make sure that their analytics look
[556]
decent but from there you just choose
[558]
the influencers you'd like to work with
[560]
pick the goal of the campaign then you
[562]
fill out all the info related to The
[564]
Campaign then you make an offer and then
[566]
it's up to them to either accept it or
[568]
not and I do recommend working with
[571]
several at a time because that gives you
[573]
more chances for some of these posts to
[575]
maybe go viral rather than just going
[578]
all in on one single Creator and one
[581]
single post and I've got a Bonus tip for
[583]
you here too so not only can these posts
[585]
go viral on their own but you can
[587]
actually turn these influencer posts
[589]
into paid Tick Tock ads they call them
[591]
spark ads and they can be incredibly
[594]
effective not to mention that you're
[596]
essentially getting these Tick Tock Pros
[598]
to create your ads for you so just
[600]
choose the posts that ended up getting
[601]
the highest level of organic engagement
[603]
and throw a little money behind it to
[605]
push it out even further okay moving on
[608]
to our next bucket email marketing so
[610]
while email isn't the newest shiniest or
[613]
sexiest category it is the most
[616]
profitable which to me makes it a little
[618]
bit sexier right and if you haven't
[620]
heard me say it before email marketing
[622]
actually has a 42 times Roi on average
[625]
so for every dollar you put into your
[627]
email marketing campaigns you're likely
[629]
to make 42 dollars in return but in
[632]
order female marketing to work you gotta
[635]
get your ideal customers email addresses
[637]
in the first place right and that's what
[639]
strategy is all about interactive lead
[642]
magnets now a lead magnets just anything
[644]
that you can you know dangle in front of
[646]
your prospects in exchange for their
[648]
email address traditionally it's been
[650]
everything from sign up for our
[652]
newsletter not great to offering a
[655]
really actionable download like a
[657]
checklist or cheat sheet or even video
[659]
series getting warmer but those things
[662]
are usually just delivered for your
[663]
prospect to act on it all on their own
[666]
but interactive lead magnets usually get
[669]
higher opt-in rates and your potential
[671]
customer usually gets a better result
[673]
too because they're more invested in it
[675]
and my two favorite interactive lead
[677]
magnets for 2023 are timed challenges
[680]
and quizzes so a timed challenge is a
[684]
great way to build a lot of touch points
[686]
with your opt-ins over a period of
[688]
anywhere from five to Thirty days so the
[691]
way it works is you figure out what goal
[694]
or result you want to promise to help
[696]
your prospects achieve on their own with
[699]
guidance from you of course then work
[702]
backwards to nail down all the little
[704]
baby steps that are going to help them
[706]
get there and how many days they'll need
[708]
to do it so some common time periods for
[710]
these types of challenges or 5 7 10 or
[714]
14. usually the shorter you can make it
[716]
the better then every day for the
[718]
duration of the challenge you email them
[720]
with that day's activity or assignment
[723]
that they need to complete and this
[725]
works even better if you can vary up how
[727]
you deliver the information for instance
[729]
if you can sprinkle some videos into
[731]
your emails every once in a while you'll
[733]
take that relationship building to a
[735]
whole new level and a quiz Works
[737]
particularly great if you wanted to
[739]
tailor your advice or action plan to
[742]
each person's unique circumstances you
[744]
just want to use an online quiz Builder
[746]
I use tryinteract.com you want to ask
[750]
the right questions similar to what you
[752]
might ask in a one-on-one consultation
[754]
so that at the end they arrive at a
[757]
result that then kicks off you you
[759]
sending them something just for that
[761]
specific result okay time for our next
[763]
marketing bucket PPC or pay-per-click
[766]
marketing and this strategy is honestly
[769]
a game changer when it comes to paid
[771]
advertising it's all about being
[773]
omnipresent or everywhere online all at
[777]
once and there's a really easy way to
[778]
achieve that thanks to Google and this
[780]
brand new campaign type and it's a
[782]
really good one so good in fact that it
[784]
deserves its own video so click right
[787]
here and I'll show you why this is such
[789]
a great opportunity to be found
[790]
everywhere online for a lot less than
[794]
your typical Google ads so click right
[796]
here and I'll give you all the details
[798]
believe me you don't want to miss this
