Channel: TD Ameritrade Network

earnings coming up. The stack is
[2]
way way dnow. Joining us from C
[5]
F R a Keith Snyder, equity
[6]
analyst covering the sto.ck With
[9]
the hold rating, but at 50$3
[12]
Price target, Keith It's almost
[13]
like an implicit by that's a
[14]
long ways away from here. Yep it
[17]
is. And I mean, that target can
[19]
certainly come downwdar. You
[21]
know, this earnings season is
[22]
going to be very interesting,
[23]
especilyal after the last
[24]
quarter. Um you know, it was
[27]
still the numrsbe are pretty
[28]
good. But there guys pretty
[29]
soft, and I think they. Really
[31]
did a gdoo job, You know,
[33]
tempering expectations coming
[33]
into this quarter.ut B now you
[36]
have kind of the drama
[38]
surrounding the 59 deal falling
[40]
throughUm. and really, this is
[42]
not only kind of a, you know,
[44]
llte to how the pandemic is
[46]
winding down, but also it's you
[48]
know what is next to this
[49]
company? They had placed a lot
[51]
of eggs into the basket of
[53]
moving to the call center market
[53]
and without this deal. You know,
[56]
that's gonna be a very difficult
[58]
task to accomplish. So you know
[61]
what? I'm really looking for it.
[62]
Hopefully here from the company
[63]
is what are they planning? Next?
[64]
How are they going to move
[65]
forward with this? Because they
[67]
really have to their core
[68]
business is You know it's
[71]
struggling to continued in the
[74]
momentum they built up over the
[75]
last five quarters, and so.
[77]
We're going to have to see where
[78]
they're going, You know, over
[79]
the next five. Keith Do you
[82]
think that they're you know the
[85]
omzo phone and some of the other
[86]
ideas they've talked about
[87]
having virtual like community
[90]
work places and from a
[92]
conference standpoint, I mn,ea
[96]
Is anything in the realm of
[97]
remote not going to do the trick
[99]
from the at this point. I mean,
[100]
is that now kdin of like an
[102]
albatross hanging over them, as
[104]
opposed to some great value
[104]
proposition. Yeah. I mean, you
[109]
know those ideas. I kind of feel
[110]
like they're they're almost
[112]
gimmicky in away from and we've
[114]
seen competitors. You know,
[115]
Cisco's WebEx program is, you
[118]
know, thinngki about getting
[118]
into the virtual reality and
[120]
augmented reality space for
[122]
conferencing. You know, I don't
[124]
think Microsoft is gonna be too
[125]
far behind them if they move in
[126]
that direction. So you know, the
[130]
whole space is mongvi towards
[131]
these kind of, you know, really
[133]
techie solutions to, y kounow,
[135]
problems that made not totally
[136]
exist right now, Um, and a lot
[139]
of that is just customer
[140]
retention. It's you know,
[140]
switching cost is so l.ow That
[143]
you need that hook to keep
[145]
customers coming back to your
[147]
platform and really hold on to
[149]
market share. So you know, I
[150]
would say this is not a savior
[153]
for the company, but rather it's
[154]
something they have to do to
[155]
keep up with the rest of the
[156]
space. What is that churn rate
[158]
looked like going forward. I
[159]
mean, are we talking like
[162]
cancelations here for zoom or we
[162]
talking stju. I lack of wne
[168]
subscribers and users. I mean,
[169]
we're in the cancelations
[170]
discussion, aren't we? I think
[173]
we are. Um I mean, the good
[176]
thing for Zoom is actually that
[177]
we think we're going to see a
[178]
pretty large drop off in just
[179]
the number three users. Um which
[182]
you know it exploded during the
[183]
pandemic, as essentially became
[184]
the poster child of. You know,
[187]
lockwndo communications amongst
[189]
friends groups, But that's a
[190]
good thing for Zoom. You know,
[192]
these free users are just a drag
[193]
on margins. It takes up hardware
[195]
resources for the company to
[196]
keep on hosting these meetings.
[197]
Um but then on the you know the
[197]
business side. Um I think this
[202]
is a story of how do you hold on
[203]
to the customers you already
[204]
have. It's not just winning new
[206]
customers. Because at this
[207]
point, we don't think the market
[208]
pie is growing at all. It's
[209]
trying to get a bigger slice of
[209]
it. And that's really going to
[212]
be the challenge. Going forward
[213]
for the company is You know? Not
[216]
only to keeping your existing
[217]
customers with you know new
[219]
features for the platform.
[220]
Attractive prices plan pricing.
[222]
Um it's you know, how do you win
[224]
customers from WebEx? How do you
[225]
take them from Microsoft Teams?
[225]
Um. You know, bothf o which are
[229]
hard to do. These bigger
[230]
companies have large ecosystems
[232]
built around theiron cferencing
[233]
products. You know, especially
[235]
Microsoft teams has an entire
[236]
platrmfo for work. Collaboration
[239]
that right now just zoom can't
[241]
really match And so you know,
[243]
that's where we think they're
[244]
gonna have to really put a lot
[244]
of R and D dollars into catching
[246]
up with those platforms in terms
[247]
of You know the messaging
[250]
services that maybe even the
[251]
document storage and document
[253]
sharing services. Um you know,
[254]
these are all things that need
[255]
to be bolstered for zmoo to
[257]
continue to do Well, all right.
[258]
There it is, Man. That's the
[259]
rub. Keith. And do some trading
[263]
in anticipation of the report
[264]
now and we'll oklo
