[1]
good morning to you bernie sanders says
[3]
it's a so-called inflation reduction
[5]
bill he said it'll have a minimum impact
[8]
and he still voted for it
[10]
that's rich yeah we'll give
[12]
give bernie points for honesty i mean
[14]
you know the the whole name inflation
[16]
reduction act is a lie uh you know ask
[18]
if you want to know whether this is a
[20]
political winner for democrats just ask
[22]
yourself why did they call it the
[23]
inflation reduction act instead of the
[25]
climate change reduction act and it's
[27]
simple because they know
[29]
that while climate change is the number
[31]
one issue for most of their their
[32]
left-wing activists only one percent of
[35]
americans say that is the top priority
[37]
and the fact is the bill does not reduce
[39]
inflation in fact the pennwart model
[41]
says in the short term in the immediate
[43]
term uh it'll actually nominally
[45]
increase inflation um and you know so if
[47]
the democrats went to the american
[49]
people and say if they were proud of
[50]
this they'd be shouting climate change
[52]
from the roots they'd be saying hey
[54]
america guess what we did we hired 87
[56]
000 irs auditors to take more of your
[59]
money so we could spend it on climate
[60]
change good for us vote for democrats
[62]
they're not doing that
[64]
on the way into work today my husband
[65]
was calling the bill the
[68]
once upon a time bill as he said it was
[70]
a total fairy tale and i said well maybe
[73]
i'll use that line but i will give him
[74]
credit for it um i do want to point this
[76]
out that the irs staffing
[79]
if you look at this now
[81]
compared to other agencies uh it's
[83]
incredible call for number four
[85]
a total estimate of 165 thousand
[88]
employees the state department only has
[90]
23 000. the fbi had 35 000 and the
[94]
customs and border protection at 60 000.
[97]
and who do who does the irs have to
[100]
target and we know this to be true that
[102]
they go after people
[104]
the majority of people making 200 000 a
[107]
year or less and what does that lead to
[109]
mark
[111]
yeah well first of all i mean there
[112]
aren't 87 000 wealthy people in this
[114]
country who who can uh billionaires and
[116]
who can go who they can go after so of
[118]
course they're going to go after the
[119]
middle class first of all good luck
[120]
finding 87 000 workers we're in the
[122]
middle of a historic labor shortage
[124]
where we have there are literally almost
[126]
11 million unfilled jobs in america
[128]
today you get 60 percent of small
[130]
businesses can't say they can't find
[133]
workers to fill a job opening they have
[135]
and so the answer of the federal
[136]
government is to go and
[139]
pass money to dip into the labor pool
[142]
and take 87 000 workers out of the
[145]
productive sector of the economy in
[146]
order to in order to uh to uh sick the
[149]
irs on auditing americans that that
[151]
doesn't seem either politically popular
[153]
or or very smart i think the idea
[155]
they're going to sell it on is they're
[156]
going to go after billionaires who cheat
[158]
well you know what billionaires do they
[159]
have entire staffs to keep them out of
[162]
the way of the irs but out of syracuse
[164]
university they did households with less
[167]
than 25 000 a year in earnings
[170]
are five times as likely to be audited
[173]
by the agency than everyone else yeah
[176]
how do you defend no that's exactly
[177]
right
[178]
that's exactly right so what this is is
[180]
this is basically a a squeeze money out
[183]
of the american people's pockets bill
[184]
they they are one they're they're higher
[186]
they're going to try to hire 87 000
[188]
auditors to go after us and then second
[190]
thing they're going to do is they're
[191]
going to raise taxes on us they're
[192]
raising
[193]
this bill biden broke his promise not to
[195]
raise taxes on people making four
[197]
hundred thousand dollars or less uh it's
[199]
very clear the joint economic the joint
[201]
tax committee found that it that it does
[203]
um and also the other thing it's doing
[205]
it's going this is why it's going to
[206]
make inflation worse is it's if 50 of
[209]
the tax increases hit manufacturers so
[212]
the reason we have inflation today is
[214]
because demand is outstripping supply
[217]
biden juiced demand with a 1.9 trillion
[219]
dollar uh coveted spending bill which
[221]
was really social spending disguised as
[223]
coveted relief and then the supply can't
[226]
keep up because they can't find workers
[227]
so manufacturers already are having
[229]
trouble because of supply chain issues
[231]
and labor shortage and now we're going
[232]
to impose a massive tax increase on them
[235]
how is that going to increase supply
[237]
it's not it's going to depress supply we
[239]
what we need in this economy is less
[241]
demand and more supply and what biden
[244]
just did is tax supply when you tax
[246]
something you get less
[248]
well what's interesting is that the
[250]
media had all of these pre-written
[252]
stories like you know that they have
[253]
pre-written obituaries the media seemed
[256]
to have pre-written
[258]
joe biden come back stories they were
[260]
all ready to go
[261]
and there's they're everywhere but yet
[263]
still that didn't quiet the talk this
[265]
weekend of prominent democrats and
[266]
liberals suggesting that joe biden
[268]
shouldn't run for office again senator
[269]
blumenthal was one of them but maureen
[271]
dowd in the new york times suggested
[273]
that this string of successes or wins
[276]
that joe biden has should basically
[279]
give him confidence
[281]
that he's done what he said he was going
[282]
to do and that he should not run again
[285]
last thought on that
[287]
yeah there are the rationalizations are
[289]
already coming out look they can't
[290]
openly say before the november elections
[292]
that biden shouldn't run because that'll
[294]
depress that not what you say before
[296]
going into an election but as soon as
[297]
this election is overlooked joe biden's
[299]
problem the reason why he can't run for
[301]
re-election is because he's not only has
[303]
he lost swing voters he's lost his base
[306]
75 percent of democrats in this country
[308]
say he shouldn't run again so when you
[310]
don't have your base and you don't have
[311]
the swing voters you're politically
[313]
you're dead dead in the water and but of
[315]
course they can't say that before the
[316]
election but as soon as this election is
[318]
over particularly if they get the kind
[320]
of shellacking that they will
[321]
and lose control of the house and
[323]
they're going to lay it at the feet of
[324]
joe biden the the calls are going to
[326]
become much more vocal to push by to the
[327]
side
[328]
inside the house thank you mark so much
