In journey of CA, CS
[10]
When we are doing CA, CS
[12]
Or looking for articleship after qualifying IPCC/Inter or CS Executive,
[17]
then BIG 4 comes to our mind, many times.
[20]
When we start looking for jobs, after becoming CA/CS
[23]
we usually hear the names of BIG 4 again and again.
[27]
Actually what is BIG4 exactly?
[28]
For those who don't know, let me tell you
[30]
BIG 4 is biggest four accounting firms
[32]
which has been recognised all over the world
[34]
for the various services they provide in the domain of
[37]
auditing, accounting, consultancy, taxation and different kind of things.
[43]
So, always when CA/CS aspirant
[45]
when looks out for articleships, then it is the dream of almost 80-90% people
[51]
to work with BIG4s.
[53]
They dream of getting job and experiencing how it feels to work with BIG 4s.
[61]
What I feel about my articleship and it's experience,
[65]
I have already shared it in my previous video, I am giving the link in i button
[67]
I will not be discussing those things again.
[70]
But
BIG 4 still feels like sometimes to go there and see
[75]
We have heard about loads of work and lengthy working hours,
[80]
complex work and bigger assignments.
[85]
Everyone thinks of experiencing so at one point or another.
[88]
I also thought so about experiencing the same.
[91]
But after clearing my IPCC exams
[93]
I had decided that I don't want to go for BIG 4.
[95]
I want to learn all kinds of work.
[97]
I want to go through all the work a Chartered Accountant can do.
[100]
So, I thought of opting out of BIG 4
[102]
and just choosing a mediocre firm, which I have already briefed in that video as well.
[106]
So. choosing BIG 4 doesn't came to my mind at that time.
[108]
But, after completing CA, I thought about going to BIG 4.
[113]
Why BIG 4 ?
[114]
Because I dont't want to have in my mind that I cannot clear BIG 4 interviews.
[119]
So, having that in mind
[121]
I gave all interviews for all BIG 4s.
[123]
I gave interviews for KPMG, EY, PWC and Delloite. and to be honest I cracked them all. And this is so amazing to tell you all
[136]
I will teach you all how to clear these interviews through my videos.
[140]
Let me brief you about how BIG 4 Interviews are conducted.
[142]
First of all, there is a normal round where they check that
[146]
whether you did dummy articleship ?
[152]
Small and easy questions regarding your work, your articleship, what you learned
[157]
about your practical exposure and what value you will add to the organisation.
[162]
Such basic questions will be asked.
[166]
If you qualify this,
[167]
which is neither easy nor difficult , an average round,
[172]
you sit straight to the second round, which is the Partner's Round.
[177]
In partner's round, partners test your technical skills with their experiences.
[182]
They will put you in some case study scenarios, which they might have faced earlier
[187]
and asks what would you have done in such situation
[193]
You are required to use your experience, your practical knowledge
[197]
your academics and provide the answer,
[200]
with which he will analyse whether you are qualified enough for the job or not.
[203]
So, Second round is partner round.
[205]
Now, if you qualify the second round,
[207]
there is 90% chances that you will qualify for BIG 4.
[210]
You will get an offer letter.
[212]
However, before that, there is a HR round
[214]
In HR round, they will ask some questions, will negotiate the salary.
[218]
They will tell you about the firm's policies
[220]
and after that, they will be satisfied that everything is good,
[223]
they will provide the offer letter.
[225]
If you want, you can accept the offer.
[229]
If you decline the offer, this is not valid. There will be no contract.
[233]
So, This is how interviews in BIG4 are conducted.
[236]
This is how different rounds are conducted which you need to qualify.
[240]
So, I want to give about the skills. How I managed to crack these interviews.
[245]
I am sharing my experience and my journey.
[248]
My very first interview was with EY for Internal Audit Department
[254]
and at that time, I was really excited and confident
[260]
that I will easily crack these because
[260]
my communication skills, my soft skills, my academic records
[264]
and my articleship records are pretty good and I will crack it easily.
[268]
And the interview started.
[270]
That day, I came to know what exactly an interview is.
[272]
And then I went puzzled.
[274]
I thought I knew everything.
[276]
He asked me so deeply about Internal Audit. What is procure to pay?
[280]
What is audit to cash? How is raw material procured?
[283]
How is inspection done? How is stock verified?
[285]
How will material bypassed?
[287]
What checks are required to be placed?
[289]
What verifications are required?
[291]
My whole brain, after 45 minutes, was burned out.
[296]
And I was thrown back to earth from Clouds.
[300]
Then I realised, this is not how I would be able to crack these interviews.
[304]
And then I realised what mistakes I made.
[307]
First,
[308]
I was a bit over confident earlier, which I eliminated .
[310]
I thought that since the syllabus is so vast,
[313]
they can ask anything in audit and I need to have answers for them.
[318]
Then I adopted some tips.
[320]
First, I wrote my introduction on a page (about 5 lines)
[324]
and stuck it on my laptop screen that these are the points I need to speak
[328]
because when you are nervous, what introduction you have planned for 3 minutes,
[335]
But due to nervousness
[337]
due to some ambiguity
[339]
you are not able to deliver it properly.
[341]
And because of that, you miss a lot of points.
[343]
Therefore, it is important that
[345]
you write a proper introduction for yourself on a page
[349]
and stick it near your laptop screen and try to speak those points in 2-3 minutes.
[353]
After that I thought, I need to learn one Ind AS in very detail
[358]
and I decided that I will learn Ind As 116 thoroughly.
[364]
and read every case study.
[366]
I was experienced in that as I did one audit of listed client and implemented Ind as 116
[371]
and I had decided that if I want to qualify in interviews,
[374]
I need to prepare some important parts.
[376]
So that, if they ask anything related to that, I would be 100% sure about it.
[380]
I read every case study regarding IND AS 116
